  1. Nice suit man... I got the impression from the smile on your face after your jump that it works good too. :) Don't take my job you bastard!!! Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  2. Good luck and enjoy flying the camera... I know I have. Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  3. I don't know if I can agree with this statement myself. I would put it more like this... Flying camera will pay for flying camera. :) I make money shooting video, but I usually end up spending the money I make paying for more video and camera equipment. I suppose you could make money shooting video but you would have to do a whole lot of it and not have any camera accidents and such. It is real expensive to fly video and do it right. If you want to make money skydivnig then get a tandem rating. That's where the cash is at, otherwise, good luck making enough to at least pay for your jumps and such. 4. I'm with you on this one. We teach our students to throw them away, but we also tell them how much they cost US so that if they do have the presence of mind to keep them, then maybe they will. Regardless, we teach them to throw them away to keep their hands clear for anything else they might have to do. They have enough on their minds at that point. And students don't pay for repacks either. Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  5. Hell, I can't wait to just fun jump with J.E. again myself... it's been FAR TOO LONG... Miss you buddy! Congrats to all. I'll be going for my AFF next week. I'm starting to stess... One question though J.E.. How did Redlight do on his spotting? Hahahahaha Oh I kill me. :) Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  6. Khan Hildebrand, the owner of the packing concession at Z-Hills developed a tool that will do this. In fact, it's probably the one you are describing. I don't have all the specifics on him such as his phone number and such but if you call Z-Hills manifest I am sure that they can get you in contact with him. Tell him Fletch sent you... :) Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  7. Bought one yesterday myself. Looks to be a super nice camera. I hope it holds up. I've never jumped stills before so this is going to be quite a learning experience for me. I'm excited and a little scared. I still can't believe I spent that much money. God I hope I get it back... hehehehehe Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  8. There's a guy on ebay selling them all the time. I believe he is just a skydiver that works in a machine shop and created his own but I bought one just to have (I don't have it mounted on anything yet) and from what I can tell it is made well. It's late right now and I'm tired. If you'd like more info them PM me and I'll get some specifics for you. Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  9. I've known Bram a little while now. I met him while traveling through Ohio a few years back. My father and I sat and talked with him and Elly for quite a while and were stunned to learn that their home is about 15-20 minutes down the street from ours in Missouri. You talk about a small world. Hahahaha... Anyhow, over the years I have had the opportunity to watch him instruct and sat and talked to him several times. Bram and Elly are both TOP notch people. In two weeks I am going to have the opportunity to be his student, or should I say I am going to have the opportunity for him to be my student. I will be taking his AFF Pre-Course and then hopefully his AFF course. Above being a GREAT instructor he is an honest one and if after taking the pre-course you aren't ready for the actual course he will tell you and not allow you to waste your money. Integrity is also a trate I admire in Bram. I can't wait for the whole experience and I only hope I don't end up wasting his time. I'm starting to stress and it's less than two weeks away. Man I hate simulated ground preps... hahahahaha . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  10. Thanks to everyone that gave me suggestions. The song I was looking for was by Schtum and I don't know if I would have found it without all your help. You guys rock! . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  11. Here's one of me flying my brand new "sexy" Micron... :) This is simply the most comfortable rig I have ever worn. I love it. Thanks RWS, you guys rock. Hehehehe.. Oh yeah, I'm the one on the left. . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  12. We love you too Chile... Christ, since your last visit, half the dropzone are Rodriguez Brothers now... hahahahahaha . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  13. Versiontrascker should have it, cnet.com, actually any place that has mac downloads is going to have it. I can't think of any others off the top of my head. I rarely use them. If you have Limewire I'm sure you could get it off there. Have fun. . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  14. Just download Graphic Converter off of any download site. It will do exactly what you would like. If you decide you like it, buy it. I'm sure you'll love it. It's a great program. . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  15. Our DZ pays $45. I hope to get my rating in april. I'll let you all know how that goes. Wish me luck. I'm sure I won't need it, but it certainly won't hurt I'm sure. :) . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  16. I learned that an expert cypres and a student cypres fire at the same altitude. (I had always believed that a student cypres fired at a higher altitude). it's just that it fires at different descent speeds. I'm sure I could have learned this just by reading the manual, but it took a safety day presentation to bring it to my attention. I will be reading the manual this week as soon as I find it. I'll be reading all the manuals of my equipment that I haven't read, as I suggest that you all do. I thought I knew my equipment. Apparently I was wrong, but I will know it before I jump it next. :) . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer

  18. You betcha Sarah! I hope to go to WFFC this year. Last year was the first one I have missed since I started skydiving. Actually I went to '99 Quincy and then made my first skydive 2 weeks later. WFFC is a blast! I'll be at Couch Freaks for sure. Jim makes me go and pack his tandems for him... hahahaha he doesn't trust anyone else. Last year I did some tandem videos for them because they couldn't find anyone else stupid enough to jump in 35 knot winds. I'm not sure I'd do that again. I hate high winds. But it was a great learning experience and I got to land my Stilleto 135 backwards for the first time... hahahaha That was also my last jump at couch freaks last year... I'm not that stupid. I really need to come over to your dz sometime. I've never been. Perhaps I'll make a trip this year. I'd like to get out more. Plus, it's nice to have a friend at a new dz. Be safe tomorrow Sarah. And have fun with your new rig. I know I will. :) . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  19. If you do nothing else, get all 1-3 tandem masters, the video guy, the packer/rigger and yourself in the harness and go over your cutaway procedures. Promote safety day, all day, every day by making sure you do PROPER gear checks. Have fun and be safe. Blues, Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  20. I am horrible at promises, so to be on the safe side, I WILL DO MY BEST! . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  21. ;) I'll bet you do. Hillbilly Boogie! You really must come to it, you won't be sorry. If I'm not dead I'll be jumping it. Sunday, I get to show it off to a bunch of kids. :) I'm jumping a demo into Bolivar, MO. I'm not sure what the occasion is. They just tell me, demo, jump here, so I do. Hahahah :) I hope the landing area is not too tight this time. ;) . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  22. Alright Sarah.... sweet... I got my new rig last week. You should see it. It's beautiful. . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  23. Don't worry Lyn, I was only kidding. Besides, you know I live in the video room. :) What are the chances I could get a heater in there? . Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  24. Is anyone out there working with a processor upgraded Mac? I'd like to know if you are running into any compatibility issues or anything like that. Gary "Superfletch" Fletcher D-26145; USPA Coach, IAD/I, AFF/I Videographer/Photographer
  25. Thanks... I'll keep all that in mind. I'll have to check into that slow motion smoother you were talking about. I would like to use slow motion and have it be smooth and not choppy. I think if the slow motion was too choppy it would just distract from the video. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to slow down part of a clip in iMovie 4. I don't want to have to separate the clip into the regular speed clip, slow motion clip and then back to the regular speed clip. I would just like to be able to slow down a portion of one clip, say, in the middle of a sequence and then speed it back up again. .
