  2. hey I'm a cheap bastard, I'll trade ya! J/K I have found that the Jack the Ripper I own is just too damn long. I like my knife on my chest strap, so therefore have found that the shorter ones are best for me. I do however still jump a cheap orange one, as I can never remember to buy one while at the DZ.I figure it will give me something to focus on while I'm spiraling to my death. 5. I would like to jump with the Wright brothers. I think it would be awsome for those fellows to see how far flight and human flight has come in just 100 years. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
  6. If you can't laugh at yourself I'll do it for you! Hahahahahhahahahahahahah!!! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
  7. Bill, Don't let that go. I would report them to everyone I could, including the police. That is illegal. Make sure you save the e-mails and any other correspondence.I'm pretty sure that is either price gouging or bait and switch, both are fraud. On another note, I have heard nothing but bad things from that place, I think we should boycott it. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
  8. hey bro, how many jumps do you have? Just because you have gotten away with something for 50 or 100 jumps does not make it safe. Did you not read all of the above posts pertaining to gear safety and compatability with freeflying? From reading this post and another in a different forum, it is obvious you don't have a whole boatload of experience. I'm not coming down on you for being new, but maybe you should refrain from giving advice until you are sure of what you are talking about. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
  9. We shouldn't be so hard on him guys. It's obviously very demanding being the most beautiful person in the world. He clearly is so alone in his beauty that he feels cut off from the world of "average people", and especially those with less than average beauty. I'm sure this is just a desperate plea for attention, something similar to what 5 year olds do when they feel left out. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
  10. I would think it would take the fun out of it if you knew it was coming. Edit: I see where they have "gift kidnapping" but I can't see how that could be legal, let alone safe. If someone tried to kidnapp me I would do everything I could to escape and kill my captors. What would happen if someone picked up whatever heavy thing that happened to be laying around and smashed in a skull. Me thinks severe repercussions could result. 15. meh, that's nothin' Bush got his D license in 5 jumps. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
  16. The problem you have with packing is that, you just learned, the people at Atlanta don't know you, if you could get customers you wouldn't be fast enough to make any real money for a while. I would suggest a retail job until you can get your packing up to speed, and you will need to be familiar with more than just one type of rig. It's pretty hard to learn on a very busy matt. I can be done, but you'll make faster money just getting a job at first, and then maybe packing during the week at a DZ if you can. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

  20. Post: Easy there partner...... So maybe the Mullins fellas do have more available to them......are you envious? While Jeffrey's post may not be the most helpful to aspiring swoopers, he does make a valid point......He and his brothers are an excellent example of what proper training, exceptional currency and high talent can produce. True, their progression and subsequent accomplishments in the sport of skydiving are perhaps not the standard example, but there is something to be said for it. ----------------------------------------------------------- I think you misunderstand. You are absolutely correct, the Mullins boys do serve as an excellent example of what can be acheived by the right people with the right amount of talent and with world class training. I take nothing away from these fellows at all. My point is this; you have three factors involved Currency Talent Training. With the correct amounts of all three, you breed world class canopy pilots.Take one of these factors away, and you have a recipe for disaster. All of this doesn't take into account the myriad of other factors in the real world. One of those factors is attitude, and I don't personally believe that our swooper in question carries the proper attitude needed to keep himself out of serious trouble. All of this aside, I'll go ahead and quote you when I say " their progression and subsequent accomplishments in the sport of skydiving are perhaps not the standard example." This is exactly my point. We all need to strive for a better understanding of our sport, and we should all want to excell.Unfortunately the majority of skydivers out there do not have the ways and means , or perhaps even the talent to progress at such a rapid rate. Our sport is progressing very rapidly, and everyone wants to be on the cutting edge. In reality it takes special people in special circumstances to be on that edge. These people do not and should not serve as "the norm". Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

  24. My FT-50 has held up OK for about 4 years, but is no longer accurate. The needle sticks and it is in general need of repair. It was inexpensive. I have seen and heard far better from altiIII Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
  25. no one here can answer about what is safe for you. With only 50 jumps, I would suggest A wing loading of closer to 1:1. If you weigh 168 plus 25lbs of gear, that would put your main size at closer to a 190. I personally stepped down much faster than that, and maybe it's OK for you, but you need to have your canopy skills evaluated by a professional. Can you do everything on Bill Von's list with the 200? Nothing personal, but at 50 jumps I doubt it. Another note, I found that by progressing through canopy sizes too quickly, I did not have time to learn certain skills as safely. I've had to learn things on more highly loaded canopies that I should have learned at lower wing loadings. I've gotten lucky a time or two, not everyone does. It could be the difference between a bruised ego and a broken femur. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
