Follow your dreams or take the "safe"route

Hey, you're young. Have some fun. I sure did when I was your age. -
It's not like men change, either. We want what we want, day in, day out.

There was an NTSB report I read years ago at work of a Bonanza crash in Nevada at night. Said that from the position of the bodies, etc. it appeared "the woman was performing oral sex on the pilot" at the time of impact. I shoulda made a copy of that one. Rule #1 - Fly the plane!

What a helluva way to go. . .

Congratulations. Now you get a chance to do the job right.

I think you've already guessed it.

Wow, that is so mind-blowingly smooth and good. . . Wow. . ..

Sounds like you're going to be a tea drinker, at least for a while. Earl Grey, anyone?

It depends on several factors. How close is the DZ to shopping centers and grocery stores? How bicycle friendly is the road from the DZ into town? How committed are you to showering and smelling okay when you get a ride into town with a fellow skydiver? I wasn't joking about that last one.

Maybe just HE thinks they're friends. She might wish differently.

At 21 I was still pretty stupid. I'm really glad we didn't have the internet back then.

I've eaten coffee berries growing wild while hiking in Hawaii. Very tasty.

Yep, I've had the Peanut and other Nuts allergy for years. It's gotten milder as I've gotten older, one of the few benefits.

How many skydivers have we seen that get hurt and immediately can't make ends meet? -
7.1 is a pretty good sized quake. I'm glad the epicenter wasn't too close to your house. I remember having a 4.5 wake me up in Utah one morning, everything shaking as I stared up at two other floors of concrete apartment building above my head.

Tell me they have a song-n-dance for every damn phrase.

Follow your dreams or take the "safe"route

You got to make a tandem at age 6? I wish I could have done that. Our 4 kids spent a lot of time at the DZ when they were young. 3 made tandems as teenagers, one made 16 jumps before going off to college, and another is a current jumper with ~120 jumps. But none of them consider it their raison d'etre like Mom and Dad. But they have all gone on to carve out lives and adventures of their own. Looking back, they say their days at the DZ were pretty cool. I'm glad to see you haven't ruled out settling down. Marrying and having a family doesn't mean giving up adventure. Sometimes it means having someone with whom you can share it. -

Live to jump, jump to live. But I also took time to marry an amazing woman, have 4 wonderful kids, and got a good job to finance it all. I haven't had the adventures that many in this forum have had, but I wouldn't change a thing. The middle path. . . -
Stoppie Joe's girlfriend? BTW, very nice pair.

***I do appreciate how you say you "lay" yours out...some have come back pretty gnarly When I have some down time, I'll walk thru the tandem rigs and stow handles, straighten lines, untwist bridles. At another DZ, where that's required, I had a gnarly rig and a quick turn. I told the packer "I'll give you a $5 untangle fee when I get back!" I try and take care of the people taking care of me.
-
I've only used one a couple of times and I was clumsy with it. For regular rigs, I use a pull up cord, no problems. For tandems, I lay them out for the professional packers.

Current recommendations on where to buy rig?

And don't forget to shop the ads in Parachutists, Blue Skies and on DZ.com. Paragear, Chuting Star, Square 1 and many others are all reputable dealers with great prices and huge inventory. I've dealt with many of them over the years and have had some great service and prices.
