Different kind of cigar. . . A good friend gave me a really nice cigar for my retirement. I haven't had one in years. It's sitting on my desk for one of these summer nights; cold beer, bonfire and the stars overhead.

We've got the hard shell fiberglass creepers at our DZ. I can't imagine them being useful for that, but maybe I lack imagination. Now, some of those plywood ones with lots of foam padding? Hey, did I ever tell you why they are called "packing tables"?

I hear ya. My job and life slowed down my jumping some too. I figure I'd be closer to 9-10K if I could have kept my pre-FAA pace. But hey, I think I've achieved a balance somewhere. We really need to get you back in the air, N@.

Relax. Finish all your AFF and your question will answer itself. Most people enjoy paying less for the jump and doing whatever they feel like doing.

That was a cool summer and an amazing event. As a young kid I stayed glued to the TV for almost the whole mission.

And those people that climb cliffs with and w/o ropes and stuff like that have bigger heuvos than I do. Jumping from a plane is pretty normal behavior for me. I don't mind sharing my adventures with other people, but I let them ask me about it these days. And I don't make fun of what they don't know. I see it as an opportunity to help them learn a few new things.

Everything DSE said and ChuckAkers said. The low man has right of way. The top man has the responsibility to stay clear of the jumper below him. If you can't handle that responsibility, get off the jump. I shouldn't have to barrel roll to make sure you're not above me.

Yep, I watched a packer I was training do exactly that, and the pilot chute kept "re-killing" itself. I agree with you. It's definitely wrong to not cock the pilot chute before bagging the canopy. Tandem drogues are a different matter.

Maybe we should realize we all love the sport and just want to have fun and survive each jump. No need to be divisive. I think there's room for everyone in our sport.

Funny you should mention that. I just did the peel the first time last week on the advice of a friend and liked the result. Vskydiver said she missed that little chewy piece, though. Go figure.
