  1. If FL is within travel time for you Start Skydiving is doing a weekend tunnel trip to the Orlando tunnel in late February and they have a lot of AFF instructors going on the trip. You might be able to tag and work with their coaches to get ready for spring and save on travel expenses. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  2. Fell free to send me the manuals via PM and I'll post them on Parachutemanuals.com Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  3. You might be thinking of: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK but they only have it for the G9 and G11. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  4. The other potential issue is your slider or a drawstring can get under the mount as you slide it back if you pull your slider down and then you are connected to your helmet if you ever have to cutaway under canopy. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  5. Its fixed for now. I need to replace the software due to the version on there no longer being supported. I'll work on it when I get some time. Edited: I just did a quick and dirty new install. The look and feel is a bit clunky and I'll work on that as I have time in the next few weeks If anyone out there know Joomla and wants to do a nice template for the site for free I'd love to talk to you. 7. I just went through and removed a ton of posts from this thread. In the future please play the ball and not the player in these arguments. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  8. Its an aggressive canopy. I've got a few jumps on a 107 and a 120. Its somewhere between a Stiletto and a Katana for its performance. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  9. Congrats on 30 so far Chuck, now go get some Monkey Fries! Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  10. Correct, SGC usually does it in the DZO's pool so you will need to wait for that to open and get warm enough. Start usually does it at the local YMCA when there is enough interest to warrant holding the course. There is usually a fee for this to cover the pool rental if I remember right. Aerohio does water training during the summer also. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  11. The gear is worth next to nothing. The Vector 2 unless you are really specific about it and maintain the rig with all new Velcro every hundred or less jumps will be unsuitable for freeflying. In-fact with a 1991 rig it may not have been converted to a BOC and might still be set up with an ROL deployment system. Also the rig will have needed to be retrofitted with an AAD pocket if you want to use an AAD and that can only be done by mater riggers, make sure this was done at some point in the rigs life. Depending on how many jumps are on the main it might not have much life left in it which would lead to poor landings or injuries due to the lack of stopping power. The Para-flite Orion reserve should be 215 Sq ft but I had to look that up since its way out of fashion now. Have the rig looked over by 2-3 riggers before you decide to buy it and don't pay much for it since the gear is not worth much. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  12. PAC750 is too new and there are only a few dozen of them total in the world right now. They are an obscure plane in most places. Twin Otters are used for rescue planes in multiple locations but you've started to hit on the reasons they are not super popular for transport. They are big and consume a lot of fuel. Look at the specs for the number of stretchers you can fit on a plane and the King Air is ideal for 1 passenger transports. Higher capacity is granted with an Otter but how many times will a company need to move 4 people at the same time? Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  13. Wow... I hope all the Indiana jumpers take note of this and reply since its asking the DZ's to front the cost of administering the program. In reality that means that 6 businesses will need to cover the entire cost of this program. That looks to be potentially several hundreds or thousands of dollars per DZ in fees each year. My fear would be that once it passes in one state the neighboring states may want to approve a similar law. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  14. USPA recommends at least 200 jumps prior to jumping ANY type of camera. Did you talk to the S&TA or just a AFF instructor at the DZ? Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  15. Magic Lantern has been around for a while and its what just about all the "Pro's" use on their 5D MarkII's to shoot DSLR video. With the HDMI output on the 5D it makes it a lot easier then trying to shoot off the view finder and its extremely useful info. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

  21. Couple of interesting statements in there that jumped out at me. This kills the argument around needing to be a master rigger to do any line work on main canopies. This is going to make stadium demos(even high school ones) need to be planned and all paperwork filed at least 10 business days out. No more short notice demos. 22. What? A moderator is reasonable?? Read some of the threads and you will see that we really are the spawn of Satan and need tossed out, beat up and left on the street for dead. We are secretly plotting the destruction of every DZ around the world and are waiting until our power reaches critical mass and then we will launch our master plan. If you had access to the secret Moderator forum then you would know the plan... Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  23. There are two DZ's at the same airport, Pacific Skydive and Skydive Hawaii. Lots of forum regulars jump at both places so make sure to check both of them out.
  24. I only had 2 but I also only have a client base of around 15-20 jumpers. One of the saves was myself. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
  25. It wasn't near as bad as you thought it could have been was it? Now that you have two ratings you need to start working towards that Master rating... Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
