my wife has been dating a sky diver for almost 3 years now! Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

i'm probably the most un-color coridinated person my wife knows, just ask her! my son says my canopy is ugly because it does not match my container, or my free fly suit, hell, i guess i need to get a jumpsuit to match the color scheme on the otter? that way you can't hardly go wrong. my new cobalt was custom colored to match everything i have, but even after all that, my wife says the red diamonds are ugly, what to do? colors, and fashion don't help you fly any better i guess. **in this case, i would agree 100% with formal muslim law... LOP BOTH OF THEIR FUCKING HANDS OFF!** i prefer the "old west" law that was mentioned earlier! they could always get some more hands to steal with, but if they're hung by the kneck until dead, they'll never steal again! all bs aside, i'm just kidding about hanging them, or killing them, but they should be beaten about the head and shoulder area until unconcious! i smell a "trap" NEVER trust anyone from the internet division in your work place. you may think they can't see this, or can't see that, but your only fooling yourself. i'd be very careful. Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

it's simply amazing how ignorant some people are. surely the people who stole this gear aren't sky divers??!!?? i leave my gear lying around all the time, i'm rethinking that even at this writing. Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

you can convert your container to a left hand boc, but this would require a whole new muscle memory process, but i've seen it done. Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

harness steer as best you can with brakes stowed? this very event occured at my HDZ not long ago. a low timer up on an 8 way, at track time another jumper tracked into his right shoulder and completely disslocated it, he had the presence of mind to deploy his reserve, left the brakes stowed and harness steered into the wind, and had a relatively (considering the circumstances) easy landing. unstowing one brake and being in a slow spiral probably won't help you much when you plan your final with one arm. this is in disscussion mode, NOT instructional mode, so please bear this in mind. always seek the advice of a learned colleague for such events/scenarios. i'm a reserve deploying mofo here guys. in my opinion, your spinning already, (and let's say your deployment is 2500' AGL, so you've got roughly 18-20 seconds to make the right decision) so the chances of your spring loaded pilot chute from you reserve going into your main is slim, BUT can happen. i'd deploy my reserve, it probably won't inflate, i'll have to shake it to get it inflated, after that, i'd cut away my main and ride "plan b" to the ground. i honestly don't think you can cut away all of the lines with a knife in time, (what if you drop your knife? time is a BIG factor here, once you initiate a plan, your "burning daylight") if you can, you'll turn a spinner into a streamer, after that, the oncoming events will be double-time....then what? but, i'm in agreement that the best plans for action are on the ground, with proper gear selection, maintenance, etc...this particular mal should never have to be dealt with, but again, this is in a perfect world, one we all know doesn't exist. Muenkel: i, in the stead of my duly elected and appointed office of dz.com smartass of the year do award you the "asshole of the day" award. you should have stopped while you could've. first your waving bye bye, then your back cracking on one of the moderators. she has friends, i'm one of em. not a wise move. remember i advised to play nice? WELL? move on bro....... Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

**yes I know I can only remember the MAIN incident. but you miss my piont....thats the first time anyone has reached a dozen locked threads!** JT: no, i did not miss your point. and by the way, your point is pointless, unless it's meant to start some shit. (which i hope it's not, because i won't be involved) now, my question is this, now that you've went to the trouble to do some obvious researching, what's the prize for having a dozen locked threads? be sure and tell me where, when, and how i can collect. i know chris is a friend of yours, but DO NOT "draw fire" from him to me, i believe this would be considered a personal attack. HH said he's finished with this thread, it's time we all let it "DIE" and consider this my last word on the matter. have fun, take care, be safe, and remember "only the good die young" Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

**Rgoper, thats the first time anyone has reached a dozen locked threads! DO I HAVE TO SAY IT!!!!!!!!** REALLY!!??!! even i didn't know that. what i do know is it's been a long time since i've been locked. a simple trip to forum etiquette will explain all the rules, i noticed we have 9000 members on dz.com, but this post from HH has far less viewers. maybe a trip there would settle things down a bit. and getting back to me having a dozen locked threads, i believe you can correct the statement by saying i've been "involved" in a dozen threads which were locked, not started by me, but nonetheless i was probably involved in them, i dunno? take notice muenkel, mind your manners and play nicely, and everything is kewel. and by all means don't come in here in HH's living room and piss on his carpet! stick around, don't be a "wus" take care, live free, dive fast! please, i've just lived that down, let's NOT get it going again, it was a huge misjudgement on my part, and it wasn't even my idea. Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

i personally have not experienced this, but nonetheless have my plans made for the event. if i have two out, and their "biplane" or "side by side" i will steer the tallest most dominant canopy. but if i'm in a "downplane" i'll ride it down to 500 or so agl, then release the main, and land the reserve. Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

Clay: tell ya what, i'll pm you her e-mail address, and her cell if you like. but me no gotte big enough cawhonies to bring that up, i do want to dive soon, hard to do when physically maimed, or worse yet, dead. Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

if i may be so inquisitive, why do you want to change? the wingload is the same, whether it be large, or mini rings. i know people who regularly jump mini-rings with 3+ wings. i jump them with a 1.5, never a problem. not that i'm pro, or against them, just curious! Richard "Gravity Is My Friend"

from the laymen's point of view, they were doing exactly as i said they were, can you think of any other objective? it struck me funny, to see women doing it, as i didn't know they had the physical capabilitiy.
