Wendy: i applaud your "common sense" ethic in this matter. for these situations to change, we must all, male and female work towards the common goal. as for me, i shall never (if i divorce again for some reason) marry again...without a pre-nup agreement. my ex since 1986 has intentionally worked part time (20 hours a week) and her new (well since 1986) "lover boy has NEVER had a job. i've gone on, and done well for myself, and she hates that, she wants my $$$ but she don't want me, this is wrong...very wrong. i picked myself up, dusted myself off, and got on with it, she on the other hand has had an "ax to grind" ever since the divorce, most of it $$$ driven. i have noticed with my research over the years husbands who are lower incomes, don't get hassled a lot, but those of us who are middle-upper class earning brackets often get "taken to the cleaners" my ex, in fact sued me on behalf of the minor children, she didn't get everything she wanted, but what she got wasn't hers, or theirs. end of rant. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

Clay: i'll tell you what i told rhino: "once you get your foot on her kneck, don't let up" it's truly sad that family affairs have to get that way, but 9 out of 10 times it's insisted upon. i tried everything i could to be reasonable with my ex, because of my two children, but she was having none of it, she had to do things the hard way, now since 1998, four attorneys and $225,000.00 later, we finally come to a resolution. (at my expense of course) i'm not saying that it's the female that wants to be difficult all the time, i'm saying it's the female that wants to be difficult most of the time, generally just for vindictive measures, they can't whoop your ass, so they "drag you through the mud" if divorced couples were allowed to handle their own affairs, without the court's being involved, i do believe we'd have a "smoother transition" during these trying times that some of us go through. it's definitely a sign of the "declination of family values/morals" juges are so used to giving the female everything by "default" they've become complacent in their decision making process. i'm glad things are going your way, your in way better shape than i ever was. good luck, take care, best wishes...always. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

Clay: been through it, it's not right now, nor will it ever be. in my experience. rhino and myself have had extensive conversations about this, heres the kicker, 90% of these cases are decided by MALE judges. they have "tunnel vision" and refuse to pull their head out of their anal orifices. i've been divorced since 1986, and i thought, "Thank you Jesus" i'm done with her, it was just beginning. all i can say, is don't give up, and try to make as much noise as you can, so maybe this generation of fathers can make a difference for the future generations. but then again, there's always that cruise that leaves off of the florida coast....makes for a good aliby anyways! when i'm at work on a drilling rig, i try to get as much as i can, but inherently, as soon as i get going, something happens, always. but when i'm home, mon-fri. even though i road bike, and mountain bike, and lift, i still have a propensity to gain/lose 10-20 pounds either way in a span of 2 or three days, and YES andros is way kewel! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

Dave: actually i had a really good plane a 767, the bad thing is, is my company is too cheap to fly me buisness class, and those kids! jeez! i've raised mine already!! screaming, crying running all over the place, the KLM flight attendant(s) finally had enough and made the parents take control, but it was a repetative process. other than a few turbulence in clouds the plane rode good, 560 mph+ downside as i said was flying coach....yuck! but we've talked about that, it's business class for ol rich from now on, after this next flight home. i'm still in saudi, near Haradh, will be leaving here the morning of the 27th, go to Bahrain, do some shopping, then catch a flight stateside monday morning about 01:15 hours. see ya! take care. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

Free: just got through with a transatlantic flight to the middle east. a rig will do you no good at 40K if anything happens, it'll more than likely be an explosion and everybody will die, not time for a rig, in the event ther is no explosion, and mechanical failure, the jets move too fast to bail, you'd be killed on exit anyway, plus it would be hard to put your rig on while the plane is in a spiral, or listing one way or another. just relax, everythings kewel! with the heightned security, and mechanical awareness, air travel really is the safest means of transportation. have a safe, and fun trip, and just relax! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
