Gremlin’s first break of the year (tough guy competition) was the metacarpal connected to the little finger. He waited 6-8 weeks (can’t 100% remember) before jumping again. Then went in the tunnel and broke himself some more… Vicki

I have spoken to people who have landed both Techno and PD reserves and all have said that although there was nothing bad about the PD, the Techno was nicer to fly and land. However when I was choosing a reserve to go in my new rig, I went with PD because from everything I’ve seen and read of it, the PD reserve is the strongest reserve out there. Vicki

First thing to say – please spend some time with an instructor running over your emergency drills if you haven’t done so since you had your malfunction. Personally, I have chosen to go with a metal reserve handle rather than a pad – my reasons are as follows: 1. (Knock on wood!) I haven’t yet had to chop and I want the two handles to look and feel different. 2. I jump in the UK in winter and I’d prefer a handle that I can get a better grip on when I have very cold hands. 3. I don’t freefly. I don’t think there is really a right or wrong answer here – just personal preference. Vicki

Your group. What about the group that after you and didn't have adequate separation? Whoever tracks away on line-of-flight has the possibility of opening directly under them. A freefall collision with an open canopy. That's why I also said: Vicki

I have no issue about jumping through some cloud providing: 1. The cloud is above break off height (tracking in cloud is just stupid) 2. The cloud is not wet (no fun being rained on in cloud) 3. The cloud is not completely solid so that I can see everybody in my group. Vicki

Weights are something that some people just need! I use weights sometimes when I’m jumping with bigger/faster people. My philosophy on it is that I should aim to be in the formation in a neutral position where I have range to go faster or slower. If I am at or near the edge of my range (on either side) then I can’t skydive comfortably or to the best of my ability. If I need to wear weights or a bigger jumpsuit to be falling at the right pace, then so be it! Vicki

I do! Mine is up to date and reasonably accurate – my Pro Track logs it on each jump for me and adds it up! I only have to copy the numbers into my log book! Vicki

Lots of people have been asking how Adam (aka gremlin) is doing and when he will be back in the air after his mishap in the Perris wind tunnel... well... I'm very pleased to report that he did 2 jumps with me yesterday, he did great and his back held up pretty well!

:2:0 Strange weather here in the UK. Saturday was a wash out (lots of in the bar that evening...) but 2 nice jumps on Sunday before deciding it was too cold and cloudy up there and heading to the cinema to see Shrek 2!

Definitely can't make the warm up weekend as we are doing the 8-way meet at Nethers. Haven't decided about the following weekend - depends on a whole load of variables/weird stuff that is going on in my life atm! Vicki
