Looking for 10-way speed teammates for Nationals!
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in Relative Work
Hello there! Crystal Sanchez here from Skydive Elsinore. I have a 10-way speed team from Elsinore going to Nationals this year in Eloy. Coming up soon! It's a bunch of skydivers with 200-800 jumps. We've trained just 5 days so far--so it's sort of a pick up team. We have 6 committed and we need 4 more to join us. The experience level is average as most have not competed on real 4 way teams at Nationals before, but everyone is having fun, has learned a lot so far, and is looking forward to the experience of competing at Nationals! We are all going for sure, just are looking for 4 more people to join. If you are interested, please email me at crystal@skydiveelsinore.com ASAP. We'd of course LOVE to get some experienced people come join us to make us better, and, since we'll only have a day or two to train together once we get there. Registration for 10-way speed is Wednesday, November 2nd, and we must all be available to jump Wed-Saturday Nov 5th. The competition is 6 jumps, and will happen after 16-way is over. More info on Nationals here: http://www.skydiveaz.com/events/11_uspa_nationals.aspx Thanks so much and please pass this note on to anyone who you think would know someone who'd be interested! Thanks! Crystal crystal@skydiveelsinore.com -Crystal -
Is there a UK version of dropzone.com?
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm jumping in the UK at the end of the month for 2 weeks. Probably going to Netheravon and Langar. Anyone know if there is a dropzone.com kind of website just for UK folk. I'd love to start making some connections before i get there. Crystal crystalsanchez at aol dot com -Crystal -
The last couple weeks at the DZ, guys have been mentioning a new small camera to check out...it's not the GoPro, not the Contour, but another one. He said a lot of the Europeans use it. Anyone remember what it's called? I want to check it out. Was it called the "Level" or something? Ahh! I can't remember. Thanks Crystal -Crystal

I've had the Cloudflyer WristWrap for years and it's great! Love it and could never go back to the standard loop thingy around the fingers. It's super comfortable and has great support around the wrist. They don't sell them in stores, so you have to order from Michael who make them directly at cloudflyer@aol.com. -Crystal

Anyone jumping at Skydive The Farm on Sunday?
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hi Ian! HI Pops Jumper! Sorry no Danica this weekend...she's racing in the IRL until June. I'm a big Danica fan too! I'm staying in downtown Atlanta at the Renaissance on Saturday night, so I'll be closer to the Farm than the speedway! If anyone is driving over and can give me a ride Sunday morning that would be cool...otherwise, I'll just rent a car! :) I leave on Monday back to LAX Looking forward to making new skydiving friends in Atlanta!!! Anyone jumping at Skydive The Farm on Sunday?
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hey there! I jump at Skydive Elsinore, and am working in Atlanta this weekend. I brought my gear...but don't know if it's too cold / no jumping going on at Skydive the Farm or what? I know at the Ranch in NY, we're open any weekend it's jumpable in the winter. Anyway, I'm working at the NASCAR race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, and will be done working Saturday night. Looking to drive over to the Farm, jump if it's not too cold, and fly back home on Monday. I've got 500+ jumps, mostly RW, but I can sit and stand too. Lemme know if you know of anyone who'll be there! Would love to make new skydiver friends, even if we don't get to jump. Other option is to go to the NASCAR race on Sunday! Crystal -Crystal -
Who just jumped into the Monday Night Football game?
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in The Bonfire
Just saw a demo jump into Invesco Field (Mile High Stadium) in Denver just now on TV on Monday Night Football! Who was it? Anyone know? He/She was carrying the US Flag. Very cool! I know it happens regularly, but it was cool to see on prime time TV! Crystal -Crystal -
Yeah...it was a great experience! Going to Nationals for the first time and seeing what goes on. The rain was really annoying bc we didn't get to do our practice jumps together on Sunday, and it took 4 days to do 8 jumps. We were also 4 people who hadn't jumped together before so it was tough! We came in last place :( :( But we're hoping for a moral victory with winning "best team name" on the USPA's website. Will get mentioned in Parachutist if we win! We learned a TON! I'd recommend anyone who even thinks about going to Nationals, put together a pick up team and go next year! Crystal -Crystal

You know, the USPA is having a poll on What is the best original team name. Go here if you want to vote: http://www.uspa.org/NewsEvents/News/tabid/59/Default.aspx#10560 May the best team name win! -Crystal

I like the idea for this thread! My fantasy team is doing VERY well so far. Yay! My 2nd win...and I'm in 2nd place out of 12! I love the Steelers and the Giants! And now the Jets! Go Mark Sanchez! Take those Patriots down!!! -Crystal -Crystal

2009 Nationals - Pick up teams/teammates WANTED/NEEDED
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in The Bonfire
I've got a 2nd person committed! His name is Vasiliy and he's from the Ranch (in New York). He's got 500 jumps and 10 hours of tunnel time (all RW). And all within the last year or so! Super current! Anyone else interested? C'mon, you KNOW you want to! Crystal (crystalsanchez@aol.com) -Crystal -
2009 Nationals - Pick up teams/teammates WANTED/NEEDED
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in The Bonfire
I guess I'm just trying to *bump* this so it doesn't get buried. If you know of someone looking please let them know about this thread. Also, does anyone know if a camera flyer can jump on two teams in the same discipline? I know they don't allow that for the rest of the team members, but does that apply to the cameraflyer too? I would assume so, since he/she IS part of the team. Oh, and here's a link for more useful Nationals info, like cost, accommodations, schedule, etc. :) http://www.skydivespaceland.com/Nationals09/index.php -Crystal -
I hope you mentioned it to someone that can do something about it and tell their supervisor/chaperon. If they are not going to clean it up themselves, then they should pay extra to hire a cleaning service to do it. Seriously! How rude! -Crystal

2009 Nationals - Pick up teams/teammates WANTED/NEEDED
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in The Bonfire
Here is the main forum for the 2009 Nationals...if you know someone who is looking to jump on a pick up team at Nationals, PLEASE give them this link... http://www.skygirlmedia.com/spaceland-forums/viewforum.php?f=1 Just starting a thread for those of us who may be looking to jump on a team at the 2009 Nationals but don't have a whole team put together yet or for those teams needing an extra teammate at the last minute. Please post your name, contact info, what you are looking for (4-way FS, 16-way, VFS, CF). What kind of people might you already have committed, level of experience wanted, level of experience you have, if you are a cameraflyer, what dates you can commit to (if you can commit a few days earlier to train). Here's mine: Hi, my name is Crystal. I jump at Skydive Elsinore. I have 475 jumps (75% RW). I've competed in 2 NSL meets this summer (Rookie class) and have been doing mostly 4-way RW all summer. I'm currently asking around at my DZ to see if anyone is interested in coming out and competing...but I'm going to be there regardless (already booked a ticket)...So if anyone else is looking, please contact me. I am looking to get on a 4-way FS (RW) team and can be there by Saturday the 10th in the afternoon to train for a day and a half before the competition starts on Monday October 12. I must leave by Wed evening to go back to work, but the competition should be over by Tuesday evening pending decent weather anyway, so I have Wed as my back up. In photo attached, I am the girl on the left. And, if anyone knows anyone else who might be coordinating an effort to put people in touch, please give them my info. Please keep this thread to this topic...THANKS! crystalsanchez at aol dot com -Crystal -
Awww! That is the cutest thing ever! Thanks for sharing! Loved it. She really liked it! Crystal -Crystal

Living in Nashville, nowhere to jump.
ranchgirl replied to ryan_d_sucks's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Dude! You HAVE to jump at Mike Mullen's dropzone. When I was working in Nashville, that's where I went. Plane is AWESOME, people are AWESOME, camping/showers are CLEAN...etc. I was SO impressed when I found that place. It's a drive from Nashville for sure, but DEF. worth it! People there are SUPER experienced, super cool...infact, I just met someone who was jumping at Skydive Elsinore last weekend from there! Crystal -Crystal -
Looking for a 4th / 4-way RW team for next NSL meet at Elsinore
ranchgirl replied to ranchgirl's topic in Relative Work
Hi there, I'm trying to put a 4 way RW team together to compete at the NSL at Elsinore in 4 weeks (July 11th). We have 3 weekends to practice together. I'm lookng for a commitment of 1 weekend day each weekend to do 5 jumps together (3 with video). I have 410 jumps, other 2 have 200 & 300. We'd be competing in the beginner class (125 of my jumps are freefly). I'm doing tunnel this weekend and next. We are fun, cool people! And I'd like to practice the "real" team way, where we set goals for the day, analyze our jumps, creep them, etc., etc. Must jump at Elsinore. Please email me at crystalsanchez at aol dot com. Thanks! -Crystal -
Sweet, well, Appallard, we should stay in touch, maybe we'll meet up some day. I'm glad my rig was passed on to a hottie! A hot rig like that one deserves a cute girl. My new rig is the same design, (w/the red inside) except, I have "ranchgirl" on the mud flap now. And yes Jeff did custom fit it for me at Mirage! Hi Jeff! I'm not jumping too much lately, but maybe I'll get back into it this summer. I'm living out in LA (doing the bi-coastal thing) LA/New York these days! Miss all you skygods and skygirls from across the country! Hope to see you soon! -Crystal

Does someone have my old rig?...my first baby!?...I designed that one with "Sweet Euphoria" on the mud flap! It was my first rig that I got when I had 100 jumps. I grew out of her...and traded it into Mirage for a G4. A sweet goodbye. Who has her now? I'd love to know...it's like giving up a baby, and not knowing where she is or lives or who's taking care of her? PM me...send me some pics! Please! I want to know where she's been and what she's been doing! -Crystal

http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm Here's the link to the subway, i forgot to post. Take a tour of the NBC Studios--if that interests you, have dinner at Flor de Sol in Tribeca--my favorite Spanish restaurant in the city...get the sangria and for tapas get "pollo villaroy and patatas bravas" Go to the top of the Empire State Building--I recently went there and it was SO cool to do again, take a walk down Canal street for all the knockoff purses and wallets, walk thru the east village on St. Marks place to shop for trinkets and crazy T-shirts...Have dinner in Little Italy or Chinatown. Don't spend too much time at the WTC...as there's nothing to really see... OH, a GREAT HOTEL downtown is the Millenium--I got it on hotwire for a friend once for cheap! Take a cab over the Brooklyn Bridge and walk back over to Manhattan. Visit Central Park--take a walk to the fountain...Oh, and wear GOOD shoes. -Crystal
