BillyVance and stratostar . . . your comments were removed. Please do not post such content again - think before you post! Arrive Safely John
  2. I would rather have a Chia Pet. Arrive Safely John
  3. This being the king of all reposts it's hard to believe anyone has missed it. Arrive Safely John
  4. Added Chris Dombowski as Birdman USA Service Center Arrive Safely John
  5. This is not a skydiving related incident and should be posted in the Bonfire. Arrive Safely John
  6. 75 years young and still jumping . . . Arrive Safely John
  7. I did. I got a sample of two thicknesses of the fabric and a business card from the intermediary vendor, but the owner of the Cuben Fiber company was not there. I sent him an email asking him to post details in this thread, but I haven't seen anything from him yet. His website is posted elsewhere in this thread. Arrive Safely John
  8. Let's keep the thread in Incidents going. Arrive Safely John
  9. I saw them in Phoenix in September . . . it was a great concert! Arrive Safely John
  10. I don't know the when and where, or who it was exactly. Looking carefully at the faces and equipment, I can tell you that it was the Golden Knights' Black Demonstration Team, pre-1992. The team member that comes to the rescue is Paul Guerra, who was the Black Team Leader at one time. The canopy appears to be an XL Cloud, which we life cycled with the Star Trac in 1992. That was a nasty break - injuries like that happen on show site very rarely, but we talked every show about how we would handle it. Notice that the Ground Control NCO disappears from the picture . . . he went to get the EMS crew. Arrive Safely John
  11. I emailed the president of Cuben Fiber and asked him to post his input directly to this thread. Cross your fingers! Arrive Safely John
  12. It may have been skillfully recreated for the Muppet Show, but I remember it from Sesame Street when I was a kid. Arrive Safely John
  13. I am attending PATCAD . . . I'll investigate and bring back as much info as I can. Arrive Safely John
  14. A colleague of mine is retiring from the Army. He drinks sugar-free Red Bull like he had an IV bag full of it stuck in his arm. He has done an awful lot for me, and I would like to buy him a Red Bull golf shirt or some such as a parting gift. I can't find any such thing on the website, and a eBay search seemed to yield a bunch of knock-offs. Does anyone know of a Red Bull apparel retailer? Arrive Safely John
  15. When I met Bill Gatter he was an SF E-8 at the MFF School, then at Ft. Bragg, NC. He was also a GB Club regular. He retired and was hired on as a GS civilian MFF Instructor - he was cadre during my MFF Jumpmaster course in 1991. He moved on from that job shortly thereafter (I think the slots went away). Last I knew he was living in Brevard, NC (western part of the state). I believe that he and his wife Brende are still current jumpers. I PMd you some other info. Arrive Safely John
  16. I buy and sell on eBay a fair bit. I am very careful about the accuracy and honesty of my item descriptions, and have a 100% feedback rating after 118 rated transactions. I would never list anything that had even 1 jump as "brand new." That description implies that the condition is the same as one you could buy straight off the stock shelf at the gear store. If the rig is in great shape, and has 100 jumps, I would list it as "excellent" or "like new." If the computer has been used, it's used. No brainer there. It's obviously not sealed in the box if he's used it. I would email eBay customer service about that one. Arrive Safely John
  17. The Excalibur has already been mentioned . . . The PD 7-cell main is no longer advertised in their product list. I'm not sure if they are still making it or not. Maybe Kolla-dahling will enlighten us? Arrive Safely John
  18. Thanks Nathan . . . I will be in Salt Lake in about four weeks with a little extra time. I may sneak out to one or the other. Arrive Safely John

  23. My favorite aircraft that I have jumped was a B-17, out of the bomb bay. I only jumped it once, but it was a nostalgic ride! Arrive Safely John
  24. For everyone: It is incredibly sad that Adrian Nicholas is gone. No matter how much risk we may see that he took or who we seek a responsible answer from, it hurts to know that yet another of our skydiving family is gone. It is obvious that this is a VERY important conversation in our community. Please remember that the Forum Rules apply, and that ALL opinions are welcome, no matter what "side" of the issue they come from. There is representation from both Airtec and SSK here in the forums, and I'm certain that everything being discussed is being read. It would be a shame for very valid input to be removed because of angry personal attacks attached to a post. Please think before you post, keep your tempers in check, and remember that there is always someone out there that will post an opposing view to your own. Thanks. Arrive Safely John
  25. Let's keep the other threads going so we don't fragment this important conversation. Thanks.
