  1. OK . . . I may be confused by your first post. Do you have the rig and are selling it, or are you looking at buying this rig from somebody else? Arrive Safely John
  2. You're uglier than a mud fence in a rain storm. Arrive Safely John
  3. Just look in the bottom of the reserve container . . . is the CYPRES pouch sewn into the bottom? Arrive Safely John
  4. I always wear one for civilian tandems. Arrive Safely John
  5. T and T Liquidators is just down the road from me in Lumberton, NC. He buys out factories and mills that are closing. A foot operated grommet press might just be among his cache of goodies. Arrive Safely John
  6. There are several companies who make them worldwide, although they are not as widespread as they once were. The ones I like come from The Hat Shoppe. I have had several over the years. You can buy them from many different gear dealers, but I would recommend buying a used one on eBay - they show up there all the time. You will save yourself some change by doing that. 7. You can delete or edit your post for up to six hours. After that it is the Moderator's discretion to grant your request or not. I am not a Mod in this forum . . . PM one of the ones listed at the top of the page. Arrive Safely John
  8. I care. That's why I asked him to clarify his reason for posting. On the other hand, it's not your thread (or mine) to simply dismiss due to lack of input and turn it into anything we please. Please keep the conversation as close to the intended subject - albeit vague. Arrive Safely John
  9. When you post vague content like this, the thread will more than likely take another direction because those who replied did their best to interpret the crux of the subject matter but got it wrong. If you are looking for some intelligent conversation on the subject, please elaborate. Surely you didn't post this as an intriductory statement to a stirring hornet's nest? Arrive Safely John
  10. I assume you are talking about a tandem? Operating on that assumption: 1) My priority is the safety of the student. I always land on the DZ if I can make it. 2) I take care of my camera flyers. If the spot is long, I let them know in free fall (the old "look down" signal) and then pull high so they can get the opening shot and still make it in. 3) On the *rare* occasions that I land out with a tandem (can't make it back), I land with my camera flyer, because he has found the best place for me to land the tandem. It's a teamwork thing. 4) The landing video is important, but not more important than the student's safety. Arrive Safely John

  15. My first jump out of an airplane was a military static line jump in August of 1984. My first sport jump was in march of 1985. I made regular military static line jumps in between those two dates. Since most people seem to count their first jump out of an airplane as their start date, I use the Aug '84 date. It's a personal thing - up to you!?!? Arrive Safely John
  16. Let's keep the thread in Incidents going. Arrive Safely John

  18. For Christmas you should buy him an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle, with a compass in the stock and 'this thing', which tells time. Arrive Safely John
  19. The early morning slowdown is back. It was gone for a long time, and just re-appeared last week. It happens right around 6 AM EDT and lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour. Arrive Safely John
  20. The Corps club was still active when I got to Fort Bragg in 1984. Only a year or two later, it experienced some mis-management issues and was shut down. Chuck Blue can give you the details, I don't remember them. That left the 82nd Club and the Green Beret Club, which basically melted together a couple of years ago to be the "Fort Bragg Free Fall Activity." Gone are the days when we used military aircraft on military dropzones. I miss them. Arrive Safely John
