I have two children and they have both been at the DZ with me. They know the rules, and the boundries of where they are and are not allowed to go. I always remember they are my kids so I only jump if I know one of my friends has them and realizes the magnitude of hoiw fast kids can get into trouble. Reagarding language etc. my daughter will laugh when she hears a bad word, she knows grownups talk that way sometimes. My biggest problem with my daughter is that she remembers a story from my first AFF jump where i din't pull and my instructor had to do it, so she loves to tell people her Mommy forgets to pull. I do believe in Miracles! I don't know Eric but just reading about him makes me feel the love you all have for him. My prayers are with him and his family. I will send vibes for stength for Eric to keep fighting his way back to his feet then back to the sky. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" My prayers go out to Paul's family and frinds. I was jumping when the news game to our drop zone. There were tandem students and AFF around so everyone just got very low key. Some of his close friends were very upset. At first I thought about not jumoing anymore that day, but it seemed like I should make the next load and offer it to him. I never met him but we are all family. Blue Skies Paul. I can see how many lives you touched. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Sorry to hear it. I got fired in January after returning from Eloy on crutches. They said it wasn't bacause I was a skydiver it was BLAH, Blah, Blah. I know it was. Anyway still no job, unemployement helpful. It is true though I got three jumps in Tuesday. My boyfriend had to suffer at work while 4 friends and I made loads and called to keep him posted. Finally around 4:30PM I got a message, "Stop calling me your killing me" Just call when you are on your way home. Sorry sweetie "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Good for you girl. I can so relate. I graduated AFF last week after one year, 35 jumps and one injury that had me hurt for a while. I also have two kids and "I want to go skydiving " is not there favorite words to hear soemtime. The money for Babysitting and AFF gets a bit hard often. Believe me it is worth every penny. Just keep working and believing in yourself and you'll be great. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Thanks, I plan on being safe, If there one thing that is good when AFF takes a while is you get to spend alot of time watching other jumpers and see who you want to be like. I want to be around when my kids start jumping. They are 4 and 6 now so 15 years is a goal. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" No that is not a record. You are right I decided a long time ago that I was going to be a skydiver. I love the sport, the learning, the people. It is the most fun I have had in years. Beer, I just try and bring at least a 12 pack to the DZ a week and call it even. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Hey all: After statring AFF last May, failing levels and running out of money, I went to Eloy to complete AFF. First jump first day as those of there know tore ligaments in ankle. PT for three months. It all finally paid off. I MADE MY GRADUATION JUMP ON TUESDAY after one year and 35 jumps. I am so thrilled. It was great to have some of my friends there for my jump and two buddies calling all day for updates. Only thing missing my boyfriend who suffered right along side me through this process. He was watching tge kids so I could finish that day. Who's got it better then me? Anyway, thanks for all the encouragement during my injury and trying not to give up. I am so glad you finally posted. You will have alot of fun and learn alot on DZ.com. After a while you forget that you haven't actually met some of the people. You already know how happy I am that you graduated. Welcome.

Here's my experience. First DZ date ended not well. We both worked at the DZ and after the Break Up it was a bit uncomfortable. Upside I met Jersy, we talk about skydiving everyday. I learn from him and we understand what many around us don't. It has been 8 months and we managed to avoid alot of problems by keeping our relationship between us, "As the DZ turns" will laways happen but I am proof it can work. We were in Elloy and I got hurt on first day but I loved just watching him and the rest of my home DZ enjoy the sky. Can't wait to go again next year. Met my guy at the DZ 1 1/2 hours from home. Turns out we live 1 mile away from eachother. I am still on AFF and he gives such support. Last year we tag teamed manifest so we could try and take turns jumping. It makes me feel so great just to listen to him debate what rig him might by. Dowside two skydivers stuck in NE winter wonderland can make for two cranky people. Thank God for video's as Jersy says there good for teh soul "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Happy Valentine's Day to you all. Katie, you are such so real it is scary. Talk about mutiple personalities. That's what I love about DZ.comers we just seem to change with the wind, one day we are like a bunch of kids the next we realize how serious someone or something you were missing is found. Hope everyone has a great day. Guys don't forget today is a great day to receive, but gifts arenot necessarily found at the card store. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Fitness and Skydiving project

Good Luck to you. I smoke and probably drink too much. When I started skydiving I weighed 25 pounds less then I do now. Through PT for my injury I joined a GYM and now have a personal trainer. Well, the first day I couldn't laugh, cough or pick up my kids, the second session no walking without pain. Cardiovascular 10 minutes on the bkike was like eternity. Yet I can jump oout a a airplane at 13, 500 and land. Who knew? "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! I live right outside NYC, 20 minute drive. One thought may be to live in NJ and commute. I can take a bus to NYC every 20 minutes at the top of my block. I have friends that work in the City and live out here. Also there is alot of Bartender jobs in Bergen County right outside NYC. Everyone just about I know is in the restaurant business. Question: Why living in Manhatten? "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Blue Skies and Sweet Dreams

I remember snow, I just powed my car ito a telephone poll. Went to Physical Therapy trying to get back in the air. % inches of snow can't stop me. Gorthome babaysitter said we need diapers before she left. I jumped into Honda Accord Roads did't seem that bad. Then on the way back BANG into a telephone poll. That is why Boogies are safer the most you do is walk into a tree or a cactus. This sucks. Now no jon, no jumping and no car. Life doesn't get worse, well I quess it could. When you remmeber snow remember the shity parts of it, shovling, driving and no jumping. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Hey there; It's Blue from NJ (the girl with crutches at AZ). I was think of doing my AFF at Raeford since things didn't work out in AZ. Are you guys jumping now? My Dad said the weather has been cold but in NC I hear they close school for an inch of snow. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Thanks for that advise but we did it once. The kids were miserable and it took them at least a day to adjust from being in the car that long. Also my car is a lease and without a job I need to keep miles down. Have you looked into Amtrack or Buses? Any idea as to closest Train or bus station to Raeford? How about my leg all healed, a job since I got fired and oh the weather here in the north to go above 45. Or just a bacon egg and cheese. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Blue Skies and Sweet Dreams

Hey everyone, been busy with rehab for my leg and trying to start my own business. Anyway here is the question: Want to combine a trip to my Dad's Calabash NC, 20 miles North from Mrytle Beach with a trip to Raeford. Can't affod to fly I am taking my kids. Two kids 4 years old and 6 years old and me. Flying over presidents weekend 1600 for the three of us. Any ideas? Drove once won't work too many hours in car with kids. Doesn't eben have to be President's weekend. Also anyone know how far it is from Calabash to Raeford? Help if I don't jump soon as the Doc's say I can I might lose it. I have watched so many videos just to imagine being up there again. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Hey, I have been trying to pass AFF since last April. I started working at the drop zone at level 3. We do it like above, 1,2,3 two jump masters 4, 5,6 7, and 8 with one jump master. We had to do two tandems and pull to be cleared onto AFF. Anyway, I have been on level 5 since Aug. Everything gets in the way. Money, kids, my own stress. I went to Eloy to complete AFF and Pulled ligaments in my ankle on my recurrancy jump. I had landed all my other jumps standing up. Who knew. Well I'll try again when the Doctor clears me. Like someone said the sky isn't going anywhere. Nothing replaces free fall and canapy for me. No matter how long it takes I have to be in the sky. In the meantime since it is 10 degrees I read my magazines and watch many videos. It is good for feeding my skydiver soul. This seasonno working at Drop Zone till AFF is done. Sorry to hear that 100 wasn't this weekend. It could be worse you could be back at 21 like me and on crutches. I start physical therapy on Wed. The pain is not fun but I want to try to be jumping again by April. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving!
