  1. We have never met but I read your posts often and learn from them. Sometimes you just make me laugh. Congrats to you both. I always have my two loves every Sunday my boyfriend Jersey and skydiving. I will raise a glass to you both as the beer light goes on in PA on the 22nd. 2. I have t say reading this thread was a bit disturbing. We had a fundraiser at our DZ and raised over $3000.00 as a matter of fact checks are still coming in. I sent out the original donation today. Many people donated from outside skydiving community. In particular one Tandem jumper (for disclosure she is a friend of mine )raised money at her office and brought it to the drop zone. The DZ manager organized a radio contest. All these things raised awareness of Breast Cancer, as well as that the skydiving community is full of good hearted giving people. I am proud of what our DZ accomplished. Whatever money makes it to the research is more then they would have gotten without JFTC. Maybe I am wrong but only time will tell. I know my Mom a breast Cancer survivor for now was proud of my skydiving community. So many people worked so hard. None of which are on the World Record. 11. Welcome, you will in fact never look at the sky the same way again. Or at least I don't. I hate sunny days and I have to work. Rainy weekends are like the kiss of death. Winter don't even get me started. However, once I get to the DZ I am all better. An addiction yes, and I have suffered a few. This one is exspensive but hasn't landed me in jail yet...... Blue skies enjoy the ride. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Blue Skies and Sweet Dreams
  12. Wow, ditto. My two kids are the most important thing to me. I can't imagine if I didn't have them. It can be really hard sometimes, but then they give you that angel look and it doesn't matter. EAch time I jump I cross myself and blow them kisses, they are the last thing I think of before my final checks. Tia is 8 and Michael is 6. Tia is going to be a natural if she chooses to jump. She is so over the whole sydiving thing. To her friends I am the Mom who jumps out of airplanes. To her i AM THE ONE THAT SCARES AWAY MONSTERS. I like her version better. Thanks for reminding me. 13. As is my way, my prayers will be with all the families. After we lose anyone of us I am reminded of how much we just care for eachother. My heart breaks each time I see a condolence thread. I have never jumped at Crosskeys but many people I know do and to them my thoughts go as well. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" 14. 2:0:5 Beer owed and paid on first jump brand new Jav Ody. What a great comfy container, but not comfy enough to keep my ass from hurting after bad landing which followed a bad flare which followed bad landing pattern. Jump 4 was after some great advise from my mentors at DZ. Stood it up Oh yea. They gave me no choice , ouch, learn and do it again. Jump 5 nice. Held a sit. Not long enough for beer. 15. 0:3 Lots of clouds. Broke up after 5:30 those of us whos tayed played into the night.
  16. My prayers go out to your Dad and you as well. He made me laugh. I am a big fan. What else to do on rainy days. Just make sure you take care of yourself as well. Stress and worry can take its toll. Prayers, vibes and good thoughts from New Jersey. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Last wekk wore a black suit screwed with everyone's mind. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Blue Skies and Sweet Dreams
  18. Congrats. It doesn't matter how long. You made it now keep up the good work. Keep learning... Keep reading... welcome... although the dedication made you a skydiver in heart a long time ago. 20. I have to say that this thought is disturbing. I have been lucky enough to have found not only close friends at my DZ and others but also the love of my life. We don't talk about either of us going in but that doens't mean it does not cross our minds. mostly we end up on loads together and when we are not I watch every landing. I bring my kids to the DZ they understand that I could get hurt and I have. But my wish is that not only do I never see anyone I know or don't know go in, I would love it if some day we have fewer fatalities. I love this sport and treat it with the respect it demands. The sky is where I am the most peaceful and the most careful. Take a look inside and see why you even posted this thought. As much as it is upsetting if you really want to be a skydiver respected by others. Get some help. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" 21. When I got a call last week from my boyfriend withthis news I was very sad. However I was also immediately brought to a smile remembering the little time we spendt at Eloy. I met him in Eloy two years ago. Tore my ligaments in right leg first day there., spendt the next 6 days on crutches. My boyfriend Jersey knew him ftrom previous boggies and common friends. R squared helped me around. Made me laugh. Made sure my glass was full at the fires every night. He helped make what could have been a very dissappointing time fun. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Blue Skies and Sweet Dreams
  22. Thank God everyone else in the house is. I get some time to dream about the air. So F------ cold I can't stand it. May be 40 degrees on Tuesday I think I might have to take a sick day. 23. It is amazing an A yesterday and by 10PM I was planning my water training for my B qualifying and my jumps for C qualifying. D well that will have to wait. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Blue Skies and Sweet Dreams
  24. We will be there Tues afternoon and Thursday all day and Saturday all day. Got to get 100 and my "C" before things change in Sept. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving! Blue Skies and Sweet Dreams
  25. After 15 months, 2 drop zones and 80 jumps I finally completed my A card. Having two small children and losing my job twice this year made it tough, never mind that spinning problem I had. I never gave up and finally after weeks of rain, or no money, or no planes, or no whatever it is done. There were people who stood by me no matter what, every time I wanted to give up they would say yes sure. Then I would jump and that feeling just can't be replaced. Tuesday will be my first two way (in the air) haha with my boyfriend who has been great including multiple attempts at packing lessons that ended in kids by the lines, tears in my eyes, or saying F... I. lets just drink. My next jump that day will be a three way with my friend Rich and Jesey, Rich and his girlfriend talked me into my first tandem. Rich then convinced me we should learn to jump. He has his C already but never got snotty about it. That is a friend Thank you Thank you Thank you. I was ready at 50 but so did not want to pack. I tried a month ago, got frustrated and gave up on packing. Rain and life kept me from DZ for almost one month. Finally yesterday I packed and jumped. Of course everyone said pull a little higher just to be safe. Boarded plane with about 17 jumpers. At 3000 the pilot says it going to be a hop and pop. Out the door at 4000 (1000) feet lower then my extra I was planning. It opened and I was finally done. To all who helped along the way at Skydive Jersey Shore and Sky'y the Limit (especially you know who poppy) thank you. For anyone struggling out there. If a 36 year old mother of two toddlers who is out of work can do it. You can. Just rememeber it is not a race. I am sorry for saying that. Whenever anyone said it to me I would be like yea easy for you to say with 1000 jumps. "Cloudy Skies look different through skydivers eyes. Is that a hole in the clouds I see?" Let's get driving!
