Bytch, a VERY good point. I had no idea they had sold so many. But then again, there may be "something" to the two recent fatalities. Probably not, but it is a question worth asking in the interest of safety. -the artist formerly known as sinker

You are most certainly welcome, and it's the truth. As I said, my high school years were real bad too. I think many of us had it that way. I think even some of the "popular ones" would say that if they told the truth. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be the wise one, the right one. Here's a thought-- get that raccoon out and secretly let it out in the middle of the reunion. That'll be good for a laugh or two. Peace to ya. michael -the artist formerly known as sinker

I'm not asking for a truly full-proof, safe canopy. But some canopies ARE safer than others. All I'm asking for is if there is any other experience out there with the Sabre2 being unstable. -the artist formerly known as sinker

some dude at the dz this weekend. Is it true? I'm no rigger and I've no experience w/ these two canopies, so I can't speak to the issue... it's just what I heard. -the artist formerly known as sinker

I recently lost a old friend, one of our local Tennessee jumpers. Talking with some of those present, a few people mentioned that his canopy "collapsed"... There were reported winds and turbulence. Then I see that another jumper was killed in Z'hills this weekend under the same type canopy, a Sabre2. I've been told that the Sabre2 has a similar trim to the original Crossfire which also had stability issues. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to draw causal relationships between these two fatalities and the Sabre2. Rather, I'd like to ask if anyone else has noticed stability problems with the new Sabre2? -the artist formerly known as sinker

Hi everyone... I've searched the past posts re: the omega and omni 7 cells from Icarus. Some have said that the omni is simply an updated omega and that Icarus might've addressed the whole hard toggle input issue with the omni. So... 1. Is the omni in fact an updated omega? 2. If so, why is icarus still selling omegas? 3. How is the toggle pressure on omni's? thanks y'all -the artist formerly known as sinker

Michelle: What I know of you is only through these posts. And here, you are one of the sweetest, most concientious persons I've "known." You are incredibly gifted in your ability to write and really transport readers into your experiences. You have a great love for your fellow skydivers (and animals, minus one wall-dwelling raccoon) and I've never heard you utter a mean word to anyone. You are not a chubby, middle aged woman here. You are accepted here. You are not alone here. You are cherished here. You are family HERE. With that in mind, I say don't go. Why bring up those things from the past that only belong in the past? I don't know why people want to hold onto their high school years. I certainly don't want to. I was very popular the first two years of h.s. because I partied hard, did a lot of drugs and got drunk in class under the teachers noses. Then, the last two years, I grew up, got clean and sober, and viola, no friends. None. I was completely alone the last two years. They were miserable, but I knew something they didn't. I grew up. I started seeing life for what it should be. I have no desire to see those same people. I had so little in common with them then, I probably have as little in common with them now. And, if some have changed and grown up, I don't care to take the time and expense out of my life now to find out. I wish them well and pray for them, but today my life is surrounded by a caring wife, beautiful children, loyal coworkers, and incredible skydiving friends. I don't need anything more than that. If you do decide to go, keep it light and easy. I like what raefordite said-- smile alot... -the artist formerly known as sinker

If anyone really wants to see how gun control (or the lack thereof) works, look at Switzerland. Very liberal about guns (most men own at least one) and children are brought up around them and their crime rate is low as are accidental deaths of children etc... -the artist formerly known as sinker

0:5:1 Wife still prego, no lovin'... Three jumps sat including my first turbine jump, 2 today. Great two way today out of a Westind Beech turbine today. Diving exit, docked quickly, released to style series for A license (back flip, front flip, barrol role), redock, release to 360's, redock, break, track, all on video!! I was so stoked. Best skydive of my life, jump #34. Somewhat heavy winds though. Made the mistake of jumping a jumping a 300 student rig (wasn't paying attention) and man did I get drug around under that thing. It must have pulled me three miles on the ground once I landed. Sheesh. Whata dork. -the artist formerly known as sinker

OK--everytime I see your screen name, I think of Hunt For Red October... so I can't help but picture you as a big fat russian submarine who haphazardly turns to either starboard or port in order to see if anything is behind him... Speaking of what you should be seeing behind you, shouldn't your sabre be looking for polyps or something? HAHA!!! Oh, I just kill myself. Peace dude. Hope you get to jump this weekend. -the artist formerly known as sinker

Maybe there's a God after all.... the weather in TN is clearing up after a hellish week of tornadoes and flooding. I may get my first turbine jump tomorrow after all! YEA!!!!!!!! -the artist formerly known as sinker
