Has anyone seen any articles about engineering big-ways? What are the advantages and disadvantages of different formation designs? Are some designs more stable than others Hey this is a good post. I prefer 4 way, but have done a quite a bit of 12-32 way this summer. Does anyone have some specifics to offer?? how about a little description of you favorite big way??

I Have an Oxygen and a Z1. I really like the Z1's face shield. I bumped the button a few times and it opened, but a quick flip of the wrist and it is closed. Now i will be using goggles with both helmets, until the cold weather dictates a full face visor. The little button on the Z1 broke off. This helmet is a few years old. The face shield on my Oxygen just broke. We were doing a hybyrd jump and in my head up arch at the higher speed it just disapeared. It poped open a few weeks ago when the fall rate really picked up. I heard and felt it click shut before exit. The Oxygen is too hard to shut in free fall. I will wear goggles for competition. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...

Sorry it took so long to reply: But i would buy two round trip tickets. Example leave Pdx- to Ont monday sept 10th return Ont-Pdx friday Oct 15th. Then second ticket Leave Ont - Pdx friday Sept 14. and return Pdx - Ont Monday Oct 11th. Two round trip tickets about $250 apeice. One Monday back same Friday ticket $850. Then i fly the two frount end in sept and the two back end tickets in Oct. Two flights for less than one. I have not done this for a while because i do not fly mid week any more. Now i am staying over the weekends. You are looking at the hidden city. Some times it is cheeper to fly to say Vegas, than to Lax. But the plane stops in lax on the way to vegas. You buy the vegas ticket and just get off. But that does not work for a round trip ticket because when you do not got on in vegas they cancell you ticket and do not let you on the return plane in Lax. Staying over a weekend is often much cheeper than a monday and back friday ticket. I uses to get two sets of round trip tickets, with the returns a month or so away, then fly the frount half this week then the second half next month and it would cost half what the single monday friday ticket costs. Hey Dog: This is a great time to return to RW. Especially if you want to do some competitive 4-way. Check out www.skyleague.com There are 4way meets every month during the weather season. They have 4 classes, and are probally within driving distance. Where do you live? As for getting current, a wad of cash and a trip to florida and soon Perris, will get you some serious training that would require months of weekends before the tunnels. Check out the Airspeed or Majik skills camps. Also Dan, Hammo, Jack and many others are putting on alsome skills camps perfect for some one like you. Hope to see you at the Nationals again. My airline trip with carryon gear...

Seems I remember a program like "60 minutes", where the airport handles were caught on video taking jewerly, panties, and and other things. Seems to me that the check in and luggage / personal screening should be put in parallel so that everything is done at the same time. Then if they have a problem with your luggage ect you are still there. A little re design of the airport check in is in order. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time... -
Everyone was real understanding until I got to Grumpy. ________________________________________________ Hey Steve: We will be happy to jump with you again. In fact There is a big boogie this weekend. We plan to do a little 4-way in the mornings, then boogie jump the afternoons. Amazom you come to. I was walking in the clubhouse when you were walking out. We do have a habit to try to keep loads small and successful. But I bet there will be plenty of big ways this weekend. Huey PS We try to use eye contact for keys, instead of shakes. At this rate about $1200+ per hour. Humm in college i spent 2-5 hours a day training. The cost was almost free, to me. Different sport. Many more injuries. I'll keep jumping, too much fun. Oh yeah, I heard 4-way not supposed to be fun. Well we sure know it's expensive, but i would just piss it away on a boat or race cars if I did not jump. let see train like a pro: 400 jumps @ $15 X 5 = $30,000 4 tunnel camps @ $6k each X 4 = $24,000 5 rigs @ $4K each X 5 = $20,000 video =$4,000 jump suits @ $350 X 5 = $1,750 Travel (must live in Az, Ca, Fl) ? Additional Coaching ? Of course if you are training like this you will get discounts. But 3-5 years together. Now i know why i have no money and no big numbers. If you can find five guys working full time, training only weekends: they have good jobs and no other life. Well i have no other life. How many weekend teams are there that have keep the same line up for 3-5 years?? Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...

SO i go to down load my jumps from my jump track. And there is nothing past 3-15-03. Oh shit why did this thing break? it still gives me tones. So i figure it quite logging because i don't listen to the tones and so the computer figured i dont look at jumps either. Well i mentioned this at the DZ, while we are waiting for clouds to part. And Chris says "maybe you turned off your log book". About 5 of us replied in unison, "Why would you want to turn off your log book???". Any way that is what happened. So we did 6-12 way today. Starting at noon. I was up at 7:30 ready to go. Yeah I think pass the rock and a written schedule would make me happier. Although the jumps were fun, it was not 4-way. Say Scott and Dave how about you guys putting together a pu team for Eguene and Kpowsin. Then we could get together for some 8-way on sunday??? So here i am, standing by myself. My team, decided unilateraly, not to train today, but to boggie jump. So they are still in bed. One person has to work, but we have an alternate. Does, any one else have problems getting teammates to show up on time, or even to train when we have time and weather??? Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...

Ohh that's gona leave a mark in the wallet. A few years back i was crusin a S Texas hwy, in my 63 corvette (at about 140mph). And it sucked a valve, the damage looked similar. But a few paychecks later i had a new 350/370hp engine in it. Damn i miss that car. Glad you are Ok. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...

I think confidence comes with familiarity, and with confidence comes, relaxation, and with relaxation comes quality execution. Yeah I totally agree that familiarity is the major key. With the 6 way competition this weekend I had a hard time visualizing until i named the points with 4 or 8 way names. Crank, opel, molar, stereo, bipol, spin it. The six way poker names were a distraction. To just visualize a point with out a familiar name was too hard. PS did we have fun or what? seems that more than a few were too partied out to show up sunday Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...

That is certainly a cool jump. A day or two of big way, OK. A sunset big way even better. But I need to do 4-way. Luckily i know 4 other people with the same addition. Attached is me breaking off from a sunset big way. Photo by Mike McGowan. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time...
