Congrats - I miss mile hi Hope you all are having loads of fun... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." -- -
I remember 8 years ago asking zhills to send me a bumper sticker and they said no. Boo fukken hoo. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

What is the point of a tandem master shooting video? What would he video?? -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Well base certainly has. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

I would agree with one inference based on your statement - more and more 'less' qualified people are becoming skydivers all the time. I've seen more and more bad things almost happen every single year I've been in the sport of skydiving. There is definately a need to please for alot of jumpers on the average DZ - almost to the point where they'd put themselves in harm's way to get on a specific load. One better get rid of this feeling of cushion if they ever want to do more than casual base. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Read here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=468010;search_string=freakydiver%20shoulder;#468010 Hah - I stole my sig from someone else - feel free -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

That's a highly loaded question - when I had the same questions, I took a class or two at my local community college. Helped huge. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Doesn't seem to me like that would be a big problem. It wouldn't be the main risers and reserve risers getting tangled - it would be anything past the reserve risers that could potentially get in the way. When the main deployed the main risers would have tension very quickly and would hold their own against some flappy reserve risers. I could be wrong - anyone? So let me get this straight - its my LAST canpy? -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Mine happened with no grips in a sit - craziest thing to see my arm above me in a sit flailing around like a wet noodle completley useless to me. It was an old worn out shoulder. People need to be VERY careful when jumping with known shoulder seperation injuries because they will not heal themselves. The ligaments are not elastic and will not heal once a person starts dislocating their shoulders, it will continually get weaker. I had to have my fixed with a knife. At the very least, physical therapy is highly suggested - lift weights, work on all the surrounding muscle groups. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Forget about cutting risers - cut the lines. Even if at that point I had a nice spinner, I'd be pumped up on enough adrenaline anyways to grip the hook knife with all I had. Cut away the other line sets, deploy main etc... Hope I never have to try that in real life -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

" but how far does it go? " It should go as far as you can take it. Period. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

What type of altimeter do you use for swooping?
freakydiver replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
My eyes. Talk about digital throughput. Edit - I used to double check my eyes against my alti alot - a shitty old alti II - but the more I've jumped and gotten my eyes used to alti's at my home DZs, the less I use my alti. The eyes IMHO are the best alti out there hands down. I don't do anything near what a Germain or other high end canopy pilots do, usually only long smooth carvers never more than 180. I'd imagine with some of the fast as shit pocket rockets, one may want TWO altis to check against to really drill down entry altitudes.... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." -- -
Think about it for a long long time - I am, still. 10 years actually. You can get very hurt very easily - as even some of the best can and will attest to. You just need to figure out if its worth the chance to you. I have gone through tons of injuries throughout my life and that is one negative against base for me - most likely, an injury will occur to most basers in some form or another. Those lamp posts and cars come up fast -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

That looks really good for your tenth attempt. Like C said - relaxed is good, slow movements. You are really flying nice and smooth. Now just start fukken with different flying surfaces and you'll be rockin in no time at all... Come on good weather! -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

For nice two way sit exits, we usually exit both facing the tail of the plane. I've found that if everyone presents correctly to the relative wind, no one fights for working air. I've been really really close on exits and been fine. It seems when people face each other on sit exits, the timing and presentation difficulty increase dramatically. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Have you worked on double fronts? -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Bwahahahahah. Glad I'm not trying out for the GKs. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

That pic exact. Good form all around. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

I study as much good video as I can get my hands on. I've found this sport to be extremely visual in the sense that you don't get a lot of practice time so the more you visualize what you are attempting to do the better a chance you will have of actually doing it. I find the more video I watch the easier my visualizations are. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

freakydiver replied to brothermuff65's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had the chance to have Jerry Bird involved in my early jumping days - he is truly a wonderful person and I wish him a fast recovery. Blue skys jerry - power to birdland. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." -- -
No doubt - plus you'd get like one minute of music per jump -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
