  1. Good question - I'm assuming by watching some of their video and seeing some of the advanced aerials that all of the said jumpers have quite a bit of experience. I would never try half of that shit without at least a hundred under my belt. That's just me though, perhaps I like life. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  2. Hi I'm JT - I think I'm the shit therefore I do as I please. Karma is going to be a bitch man. I simply cannot stand people with that type of attitude, "I'm accomplished therefore the rules don't apply to me". Quite frankly, I know people with a tenth of the number of base jumps that you have JT that are on an order of magnitude more respectful. Grow the fuk up and start taking responsibility for your actions. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  3. I like really throwing that in people's faces by saying, don't comment on something you have no knowledge to base your opinion on. Not only does it hold true for jumping - but most things in life... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  4. Nice - congrats!! -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

  6. True true - good point. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  7. IMHO - I see it as use the back of your back for drive. You wanna stop backsliding, lean your back into the relative wind a lil bit more. I've found that my back is my biggest rudder when it comes to moving forward... 90s are key, straight back, 90s at the knees, 90s at the thighs, etc. Get video as the others have been saying and you will see where you are over compensating. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  8. If anything, that jump with skis looks stupid anyways. Granted I'm no skygod or anything, but a nice aerial is imho 100 times more impressive than some bullshit ski jump that looks stupid. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  9. My rig bag got ripped off so I lost all my jumps from year 2-6. Sucks. I'm guesstimating from that point on. I had a general idea of what I had at the end of year six, but I'm still pissed to this day. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  10. My humble opinion is the more you know the more fun you can have!!!!!! -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  11. Not that I'm proud of it, but I've known a junkie. It isn't calculated, like base. It is an easy way out of hard lessons of life. Period. Most base jumpers I know are very calculated individuals and understand the risks they are taking. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  12. I would never use rear risers to sink it in, ever. If anything I use them to get back from a long spot because it flattens the glide out on my sabre. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  13. Wow - that could've turned so ugly so fast. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  14. That is exactly what I was going to say. I'm glad I packed my own that first time AND went and jumped it. It still to this day, for me, the most nerve racking jump I've ever done. The fact that I packed an opener, really made me trust in my ability to keep packing... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  15. I kind of felt that way too when I was still in AFF and even at new DZz as a young student. It will get better each time you jump and you will continually keep building your confidence.
  16. LMAO -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  17. It kind of goes along the lines of keeping your head on a swivel. Always be looking around and try to figure out where the other guy is going. Assume he isn't looking for you -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  18. Ouch! I had 89 jumps, I was under a Sabre 135. I thought I could fit a 180 hook from abou 70 feet. Needless to say, it didn't work so well. I left a four inch divot where my face hit. I actually walked away with only scratches and a huge appreciation for people who really knew how to swoop a canopy. I slowed my progression down big time after that (-: -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  19. Amen and well put. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  20. "This is an invaluable post." HERE FREAKIN HERE! You should sticky this Bill. The problem is, people don't realize shitty situations can and eventually WILL arise under the pocket rocket. Sometimes, as in your case, it has nothing to do with experience and everything to do with luck of the draw. Me personally, I'd rather be under something with a larger window of error as opposed to the opposite... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  21. "How do we target that group without cries of age/sex discrimination?" Forget about stepping on peoples toes, that's how. Would you rather step on their toes or their busted spines and femurs?? -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  22. Uhh, I just meant overall production times. Who said Avid was decent software?? Forget about Doom, its all about the flight sims -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  23. On that note, I've done just as high end of video editing on PC based systems. Granted, it takes 30 percent longer on average compared to high end Apple systems I've used, but it still works on a PC. I do most of my video editing on a PC nowadays, and it does the job IMHO. Granted, if I had my choice, I'd have a multi-processor Apple G5, but I also program for a living and like to play games so forget the Apple in my case. I've found a nice Pentium 4 with a good gig of memory really works well for Pshop and Premiere, heck even AfterFX and what not. Also, go for a Workstation as opposed to a Laptop for growth and also for what you get for your $. I never worked for Disney so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I have done honest to god production work where money has been exchanged and time mattered (i.e. deadlines). -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  24. Good points, I was just throwing this out there to spawn conversation on it. I suppose a I probably pictured more like 300-500 vertical seperation when I said answers may vary. They could potentially vary with that type of vert seperation, dunno just bored at work heh... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  25. Is that the only remote solution for the Nikon D70? I'm big into warranties... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
