  1. So are you saying you are a dealer? I said nothing about being an "exclusive dealer" And acording to them "anyone" can't be a dealer. They have some requirements. It is not a $295 modification. As I am like you and can not bye the # that is needed to get a discount I get them for the same price as any one else. The difference is that I have actually spent the time and done the things to make it work for skydiving. If you want to get some friends together and get micro optical to sell you some at a discounted price. I encourage you or anyone else to. I have never said you can’t. I simply said that I have done the things needed to make it work for skydiving and wanted to let people know that it was available. And that if I was to get a discount I would pass it on to the buyer. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
  2. I spoke to micro optical this morning. They assured me that I am the only authorized dealer in the skydiving market and that in order to get the deal that you are talking about you would have to be a dealer and you would have to get more than 5 of your friends. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 3. So when the ratchet accidentally gets released you will have to put the cutaway system back together??? Or when some one accidently gets their thumb caught under it whiles trying to Spock you it will be gone?? Just my opinion, to much to chance. Why don’t you run the cable to just behind the didder pocket and just on the bottom of the helmet? I would also do away with the cotter pin and just use the cable like bonehead does. You could also drill a hole and put the extra cable in the helmet. This would alow you to have more cable, maby 2 inches. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 4. if I get 5 people to get one at the same time it will be $995 and will stay at that for each add. I have not went as far as to ask if I get 10, 20, etc. As the price being what it is I did not think I would be able to get more than 5 at one time. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 5. Sorry to run your post off topic freefalle, this will be my last post off topic. Sorry Quade I miss read that I thought you said ergonomically I will say this though. Some people are willing to pay $2k for a peace of nylon with some strings on it. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
  6. Thank for the photo. I have seen alot of theis typ of things. Their is even one for sell for $995 called the floting veiwfinder. Thouse are not ergenomicly pratical. As for entangelments the MV-1 is desighned in such a way that if it were to becon entangeled it would break off. This is not financially good but you would be alive to be pissed off. Also this site is less likely to entangel than most convetunal mountings as their is only one way to hook it (IE no post). -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 7. Sorry I had no idea that you knew anything about HUD's. "Camera flyers can use a number of types of sights. From the least accurate and least expensive to the most accurate and most expensive they are; Dot on goggles (grease pencil or paper reinforcement) Ring w/ optics (piece of PCV or old ring sight w/ optics knocked out) Lollypop w/ dot (piece of plastic w/ dot in center) Newton Cross (polarizer, stressed plastic, polarizer) Concentric Ring (glass, polarizer, calcite, polarizer, glass)" says nothing about the HUD being the most expensive nor the most acurate. I asume you are talking about the E I sent you to let you know that HUD's were avalible for skydiving as I didn't know you knew that they were. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 8. I know this. That is why on my website it says that if I get enought people I can get the price down. but you will still need to do the alterations to get it to work for skydiving. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 9. If you click on the picture on my home page it will take you to the price and other info. The price is $1,095. I'm tring to get the price down but because it is so high I can't bye in volume so I don't see it happning any time soon. rredman do I know you? -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 10. As opposed to? As oposed to a heads up diplay or any other display that shows you what the camera is recording. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
  11. If you have ever shot a gun wich eye did you use. The body usuly naturly uses the domanate eye. That is how I found out I was weard. I am right handed and left eye dominant. It makes shoting a rifel wered. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
  12. I see what you are saying but the Cadillac's night vision system is not color. At least I don't beleave it is. I do beleave it is like other night vision I beleave it is green. I have not seen one in person but I have seen the add. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 13. you need to keep in mind distance. you have two lines one is your line of site and the other is the line of your camera. Were the two meet is center. When you sight the hole thing you will do it at an average distance. when things are farther away or closer you will need to guess on the ajustment. this is just one of the problems with conventunal sights. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
  14. I did kinda the same thing to my DaBome. But I didn't remove the cap. I made a bigger hole so that the ridge of the eyecam would hold it self in place. But I also pland on it being a prmenat part of the helmet so I didn't care about the size of the hole. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 15. Can you tell me of any companys using transpaent LCD's for HUD's? It sounds as though you may have tryed the MV-1, CV-1. If so I would like to hear your thoughts on them. I have been using one for a while. But as far as I know I am the only one who is. Also I think I am the only one who has adapted it for skydiving. I would like to hear another persons thoughts on them that has used one. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 16. Unfortunatly JumpHog that is who makes this device and it is a heads up display not just a LCD. But thanks for the imfo. I have been dealing with them for over a year now tring to get this for skydiving I have voiced my concerns about the price but they will not buge . -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 17. I fully agree with every thing but I don’t see the development of LCD’s to the point of being able to use them for skydiving. All the transparent LCD's that I have seen has been simple clock type and I have not seen a color one at all. I am not in the electronics field any more and would be interested in any links you may have to some company that have them. As for full color video, heads up is the only thing that I know of that is out there. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 18. If anyone is wanting to see it I will be at the PIA symposium next week. I am not going to have a booth but I will be their with it all week. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 19. I can tell you it takes some getting use to just like any thing else. It is like driving your car looking throug a camera. Your depth perseption is a littel off. I am learning to go betwen focusing on the image on the screan and the skydive. The color vesion works better than the monocrome but I think most people will find the price for it just to steep. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 20. After almost a month of trying to get dropzone.com to fix my link because I forgot to put .com at the end. I have given up and thought I would come and let you all know about it. For those looking for an alternative to conventional ring sites and looking for an H.U.D. check it out. Let me know what you all think. http://www.verticalxtremeproductions.com -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 21. Thanks for the clarification Deuce. All of the .5 lensas I had seen didn't have the threads. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
  22. Yes lower the # wider the shot. If I am corect the 110 has the same optics as the 100 if this is the case I would go with the .42 As the lens will thred streight on. If this is not the case and you need to use a step down ring I would use a .5 because the step down ring pushes the lens away from the lens of the camera, thus changing its angel. If you have a .5 and push it away from the camera you end op with something like a .47. All angels are in refrance to a 0 if you move the 0 than it changes the angel. The Kenko .42 is the only one that has the threds for a filter, the .5 does not. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 23. I love my flat top. I would like to try the new cut away system. I plan on seeing what they can do as far as a conversion at the simposium this mounth. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. 24. I got the last one that they maid 2 years agow. The best setup that I have seen is using a z-bracket, and mounting the video on top and still in front. this will reduce lin snag. I love it for freefly, it is just about the best one bone head has made. But you cant beat the flat top -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it. But if you go be sure you can make it back.
  25. I have jumped a Kenko .42 and a .5 and I like bouth just fine. I don't know any thing about Raynox. As for .5 VS .42 it depends on what you are doing and what camera you have. As I hate venyetting (sp?) I use a .5 when the camera needs a step down ring. If id doesn't I use a .42 to get the wider shot. -------------------------------------------------------- Some one must go to the edge for others to be able to find it.
