Sounds like they were both nuts. "Nobody messes with the haunted house guy" -

Once again Skymama is the voice of reason. -
Had a friend once that drove a gas truck. He got hastled by a fire marshal in a small town that found one of the fire extinguishers expired. The guy ask him what he would do if the truck caught on fire. My friend said," Well the extinguiser will probably still work but if that truck catches on fire it's going to burn up with the fucking truck".

If you have friends that care how it is served go get some new friends.

What can we do about Skyride?
CSpenceFLY replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
They have been doing that for years. -
Did you have any trouble with the authorities in Dublin?

Help! Old tickets not honored at Montery?
CSpenceFLY replied to TaeKwonDoDo's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Of course another point here would be ,be careful where and how you put money on your account. I don't put money on account anywhere that will not give it back at the end of the day. -
The pointy end of raindrops...
CSpenceFLY replied to hackish's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Of course it does or it wouldn't hurt so fucking bad! I'm not sure if it has a damn thing to do with the pointy end but it hurts to jump in rain. Try it once and report back. -
Nope, just you.

Help! Old tickets not honored at Montery?
CSpenceFLY replied to TaeKwonDoDo's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Good luck. That is why alot of DZs sell tickets,in hopes that they will never see them again. Z-hills is about the only DZ I can remember that will replace tickets if lost and I have never heard od ticket not being honored there. The new business should honor the tickets if it was part of the sale agreement. Either way I wish you luck. There are less and less standup people in skydiving everyday.Bottom line if there is no expiration date on them you should be about to use them or be paid for them. -
Did you have any trouble with the authorities in Dublin?
CSpenceFLY replied to CSpenceFLY's topic in The Bonfire
The town of Dublin is asking if the skydivers will be returning for the boogie next year. The short answer I gave them is I don't know. There are many things that I have to work out personally and even more on a logistical level to make it something I want to do again. After the accident everything went to hell in a handbasket. Most of you saw me at my absolute worst and I want to apolgize for some of my actions and my demeanor going into the evening. That day is the worst day I have ever been through and in some ways I didn't handle it very well. I expected an accident to be handled pretty much the way it was, with overkill. Nothing against the local authorities, they had never dealt with this before. If we go forward steps will be taken to assure that things will be handled differently if anything ever happens again. What I was not prepared for was the way that all of the skydivers were treated after the accident and going into the evening, during what can only be described as a "cover your ass campaign". I think that the dry eraser board said it all when someone wrote," Welcome to Quincy, Ga." Which brings me to my question. Did you have any problems with the authorities in Dublin after the accident? Either on the airport ,while trying to leave for dinner or returning after(which I know alot of people didn't do for fear of the police). If you did will you please recount your experience either here or in an e-mail or PM to me. I want to print them out and take them with me to an upcoming meeting. In closing I would like to add. If done again, Dublin will not be the same. It's not going to be for everyone. If you're too stupid to take your dope somewhere out of the way to get high(I could care less if you smoke pot, don't do it on the airport) then I would rather you stay home. If you feel the need to steal golf carts that don't belong to you, I would rather you stay home. If you want to come and party but don't want to pay registration(the party cost money),I would rather you stay home.If you can't cleanup after yourself,I'd rather you stay home. I would rather have a Cessna boogie, with respectful people like most of you are, then put up with some of the stuff I have had to the last couple of years -
And you're going to make it better by sweeping it under the carpet. IMO, you're attitude is part of the reason I think a culture change is absolutely needed in the sport. I don't mean this as an attack against you--I respect you and think you're a great guy--but I think he stopped deserving respect the moment he killed Bob Holler. Walt I see no one sweeping anything under the carpet. Danny killed Bob. Disrespecting him over and over again is having no effect on the safety of our sport.
-
Yep, you're going to single handily change the sport by disrespecting a dead man.
-
Just can't get enough can you?
-
So let me ask you something. You have no problem what so ever with the way Skyride is run? How about them taking over Chris Martins phone number? Does having a good place to jump and a turbine make it all ok? Where would you personally draw the line? I know many people that stuck with B and C till the phone number incident and that was all they could take. This is not a new thing. It has been going on way longer than you have been in the sport if your profile is correct.

I agree with you totally. If everyone will notice after running events for 4 yrs I have not moved into a big new house or bought that H2 Hummer I have always wanted. People have no clue what it costs to do an event like Skyfest or Dublin. They just do the math of X number of dollars collected for registration and X number of jumps made and figure the organizer made a killing. -
You have 4 posts. How many have been deleted? You will also notice he is not talking about anyone directly. Maybe you should reread his post. There was someone on the forums over at Pell City a few years ago that braged about coming to the Dublin Boogie and making a bunch of jumps and only paying for three. Kind of proves a point doesn't it. Yes I know not everyone would do that but everone on the forum knew and I was unable to find out who it was because no one claimed to know who the guy was.

Redeem Hotel Points for Skydives?
CSpenceFLY replied to pwln's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Didn't look at the link but $100 says it's tied into Skyride. -
Billy, you missed my point. It's not them. It's every DZ that thinks they have a right to be there. Yes, the law says we do but we have all got to understand the truth in the matter. In addition I'm sure there were other reasons. Lets not forget that these people are skydivers just like the rest of us. They were just unfortunate enough to have B and C buy their DZ. With the mind set of alot of DZOs it could happen to any of us.
-
Very good post but that one statement says alot. People, the times of acting like that on public airports is gone. We are damn lucky to have as much after hours access to the airports as we do. This kind of stuff needs to stop.It only take a couple of people wanting you gone and you are gone. It might take them a little time but you will be gone.

I looks like the second cop has his hand on his gun when he walks in front of the camera. Otherwise, great job!! The last one I heard about the guy landed the plane safely and the car in front of him slammed on the brakes and killed him.

What can we do about Skyride?
CSpenceFLY replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Last I heard Lake Wales does. It surprises me since the Wests from Greene Co. are down there for the winter and they are totally against Skyride. You would think that they could talk some sense into them. I thought I read there had been some changes down there and Betty had taken back over the DZ so maybe that will change.
