  1. I have permission to post this in addition to the boogie thread with the understanding that the chatter stays in the other thread. Please keep the boogie talk in the other thread. This will be the first of a series of camps that we hope to hold in Georgia this season with the goal of growing larger skydives and an ultimate goal of breaking the long standing Georgia RW Record that I believe is a 63 way. The rough plan I have in my mind is to make a few jumps on Friday afternoon, remember we will have the PAC so it will be a bit easier to get in the air then an Otter. We will have a briefing/ Q & A session Fri. evening. Followed by a day of jumping on Sat. and another Q & A session on Sat. evening. I want this to be fun and informal. You will have the opportunity to jump with and talk to some really good skydivers, including a few members of the last World Team. At this time the plan is for only the PAC so we will be doing up to 15ways. If we get enough people on the list we will see about a second aircraft. There is no promise there. We are also looking for video people who would like to help out. At $20 jumps I'm sure some of the jumpers would not mind helping out with a slot for a quality video. Put your name on the list. Ask questions here and I'll try to get some input here from some of the pros so you know what to expect and what you should bring. A few things I can think of are a note book to write down any questions you might have during the day,a weight belt, any and all jumpsuits you might have, some baggy stuff for the big boys like me, an empty slate to learn on and a team building attitude. If we can get the ball rolling on this I have already talked to Hans about a second plane at The Farm sometime this season and I would love to do a fall boogie and bring in the aircraft to break that record.
  2. Maybe someone will learn some manners. If you don't want to do something it is real easy to decline without being rude. The reason we have people like that is because we overlook it. I'm betting you won't hear from him because I don't think he will man up.
  3. Just don't pick on the mods, some of them are insecure and after you make one comment they think everything you say is about them.
  4. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time.
  5. I think there will be alot to be learned here. I know of at least 3 World Team members that will be here and I am working on an evening Q & A session.
  6. Robbing banks worked well in Point Break and the drug thing, well... I'll let someone else tell you about that one.
  7. 8.13 I suck at the first one.
  8. I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who came to Fitzgerald this past weekend. We had an awesome group of people that managed to have a great time without fucking anything up or burning anything down and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. We had no injuries, no cut aways and no distruction. The town was thrilled to have us there and have no problem with us coming back. Let me apologize to anyone that I may have snapped at or been rude to. After moving the event, things were not running as smooth as I would have liked and it took it's toll on me. Next year I hope to make the setup plan a little more clear and hope to make things run a bit better. I want to thank everyone who helped out. From the packers to manifest to the people that would jump in the truck to pickup jumpers to those that pitched in to empty the trash. Without all of those people this would not be possible. A special thanks to Hans and the Skydive The Farm crowd along with Kathy and the St.Marys crew for closing their dropzones to come and support the event. Also Steve Boyd from Skydive Spaceland for sending us a plane all the way from Houston when the one in Atlanta was not ready. Thanks to the pilots who put most of you on the airport. That's a tuff job especially when they are getting help from the back. Thanks to the guys who were working with the groups, that helps make it fun for everyone. There is one person that needs to go out of their way apologize to Tami Carbone. This person after being asked by Tami to help move some chairs answered ,"This is not my fucking boogie,I'm not carrying anything." If I don't hear about an apology to Tami, this person will not be back to my event.I don't expect it to be an issue though cause these people come and go in our sport all the time and would never understand how much someone like Tami or Scotty has done for skydivers everywhere. These are the ones that don't deserve to be included in our community. End of rant. Again, Thanks Everyone!! Hope to see some of you in Americus. I don't have to run that one.
  9. RoamingDZ.com in cooperation with Florida jumper Jaclyn Kaylor and the city of Americus,Ga. presents the first Lindbergh Boogie. Souther Field in Americus was the site of Charles Lindbergh's first solo flight. The city of Americus, located about 35 miles west of Cordele,Ga. and I-75, use to have an aviation festival in celebration of that event. When it was decided to revive that festival it was Jaclyn who suggested including skydiving as part of the event. Jaclyn has gotten full support of the city officals, the airport and the community. Which brings us to now. The event will run May 2nd and 3rd with jumps starting on Friday afternoon as soon as there are enough people there. They are bringing the PAC-750 up from Deland, Fla. Registration is only $15 and jumps will be $20. Yes, I said $20 RV and tent camping welcome on the airport and Jaclyn will post the local hotel info. There is at least one shower at the airport available to campers. Look for a post from Jaclyn in regards to food vendors and entertainment. I also plan for someone to hold a bigway skills camp for anyone that would like to start working their way toward the Georgia State Record attempts that are in the works. There will be several World Team members on hand with a wealth of knowledge for those interested in learning the art of big way. There may be a small fee for the camp dependent of who is brought in and how many are interested. I have permission for a seperate thread for this camp so please post your interest there. Hell, I might even get to skydive at this one Look for posts here and on RoamingDZ.com
  10. I do believe in soul mates. I think however many that are lucky enough to meet theirs don't always end up with them.
  11. I know. So ungrateful. "Thank Yous"???! ......I've been lighting incense and chanting praises in your honor for the past three nights!! (P.S. Ya think Brandy remembers that she was part of that?) BTW: I've got a pair of jeans that someone left in the camper (where I slept for FREE Sunday night. Thanks to Kyle and the Fitzgerald Parks Dept. ). They look like they fit a 13-year-old girl, which means they could belong to three of the four people I came with. And the guy that paid the bills saw NO boobies. NONE!! Fuck, what do I have to do ask?? Hell, I think I did.
  12. The RoamingDZ started with New Years and 4th of July partys using an airstrip across from my house and landing in my back yard.
