  1. As skydiving equipment can sometimes be very expensive (besides saving your life) you want to get the best (for you) that you can. Talk to any army riggers you know, visit dropzones and ask there. There'll be no shortage of opinions. Find out as much as you can and then decide. Good luck!
  2. Absolutely! Some of the "war stories" we used to laugh about in the bar or locker-room would not be accepted in "normal" society.
  3. Imagine you're in Gardiner, NY. It's warm (for us) but it's overcast, and drizzling. A lot of the snow has melted "muddifying" everything! It's like walking in quicksand.
  4. #4 sounds like a Jimi Hendrix tune-can't remember the exact title.
  5. Would it be possible to add a a feature where you could quickly send a post or thread to someone not registered on DZ.com? Sometimes the subjects discussed would be interesting to other people I know who aren't skydivers.
  6. Mostly pack my own, for all the reasons stated above-also have seen too many packers haphazardly throw something together just to get it done quickly in order to make more money.
  7. Not sure-"Boom Boom" by John Lee Hooker?
  8. Eve of Destruction-can't remember who did it.
  9. Tell them,"Oh yeah, I'm real interested, just let me get a pen to write down the particulars." Leave the phone off the hook and don't go back. When you finally hear the "beep-beep" over your phone, hang it up.
  10. I got it in my email a while ago with the caption, "How boating accidents happen"
  11. Dude, I'm sorry but computer hardware improves so drastically and quickly and prices fall so sharply, that used gear basically isn't worth shit. In order for someone to add improvements to your computer, to bring it up to what's now available, they'd have to spend enough to where they could get something new.
  12. I used to have a Dytter(?). Think it's still in my frap hat but hasn't worked in a long time. Haven't bothered replacing the batteries-wanted to build a "feel" for the altitude.
  13. Absolutely not.......and I always pull by 2 grand.
  14. You ought to put out a load like always, wait till he does his "swooping" trick and then spot a bowling ball into his windshield!

That's the "Man Show Boy". He's great
  16. That's mostly what I tried to do. My first thought was to reach behind me and grab the bridle. Whether it was because of my lack of flexibility or because I was wearing too many clothes (this was in the dead of winter) I couldn't do it. I thought of using an old crw move and quickly spinning in my risers but was afraid the sudden movement might fully deploy the reserve in front of the main causing them to fly together. I then thought of doing a transfer but was worried about entanglements. I could've cut away first but I was starting to get very low. Did I react perfectly?-not sure, it was a hectic couple of minutes and a long time ago.
  17. As to whether or not a worldwide political body is a good or a bad thing-I'm not sure. There are pro's and con's on each side of the aisle. From having grown up in NYC, what I do know for sure is that a lot of city inhabitants wish the entire building, with all its occupants, would just slide into the East River. It is an incredible monetary drain on an already cash-strapped city. Maybe it would help if the diplomats paid their parking fines once in a while.
  18. George of the Jungle, the nightly news or anything on the pornographic cable channels
  19. Steve-emailed you-am new to the forums and don't have this PM shit down yet. Dan
  20. That handle opens your carry-on luggage compartment. A friend of mine used his at Bridge Day.
