  1. About building a swoop pond, at our DZ we have a natural ditch that we could enlarge to make a swoop pond, but it is north-south and the winds are usually west. What dou people here think about it? Good idea? Any advices? S-P ===========================
  2. Yeah I know, another tandem topic, but I'm still a newbie TM and it's winter here so there's plenty of time to think, read and learn. What is your personal/DZ/manufacturer procedure for a bail out when having a passenger? What would be the lowest altitude to exit? Thanks
  3. Started with IAD which was the only method at my DZ at this time. I did 700 jumps since 1994 with most of them in the last 4 years. S-P ===========================

    Icarus dealers

    Hi all! I'm about to buy a crossfire 2 and i"m gathering infos about dealers. Do you have any experience to share? Do you know the cheapest price I can pay? Do you have any advices, any comments? Feel free to contact me directly on my email if you prefer. spbouchard@yahoo.ca Thanks a lot and blue skies everyone S-P ===========================
  6. What you would consider if you are considering videoing it is taking a canopy that allows a loading compatible with the loading of the cameraman, such as 2 average persons under a student PD260. To be under such a canopy would allows enough margin of manouver for the cameraman and for you it would allows enough time to enjoy the ride. Have fun S-P ===========================

    New Canopy

    I'm about to buy one... Where can I get that price? S-P ===========================
  8. Thanks for advertising my subject A short story about a friend TM who had a mal some years ago: when he realised that he had no choice but to cut away, he wanted the student not to be scared about the situation so he told to the student that he didn't like the color of the canopy and he will change it. Right, left, and -surprise!-: a reserve canopy exactly the same color than the main!!! S-P ===========================
  9. Thanks everybody S-P ===========================
  10. Hi there! As a new tandem master, I'm wondering what is the malfunction rate in tandem jumping; I would be glad to read your personal experience or your DZ's in that matter. By malfunction I mean problem such a malfunctionning main with or without a cutaway, a side spin or any kind of close call. Thanks ;-) S-P ===========================
  11. Actually, the armwings stowed under the chest strap seem to stay in place whilw moving, but the lower wing might effectivly free during swimming. May be stowing the booties again in the hip holes but doing it backward will keep it longer? Any other ideas? Probably the procedure for landing in water would be: "Get rid of your wings BEFORE landing the best you can and the fastest you can, whichever way you find easiest." S-P ===========================
  12. Never had to try water landing but if it's obvious soon that water will be the landing area, I would cutaway and unzip the arm wings to be able to fold them inside the suit, somewhere between the chest and the chest strap in a way that choke them and prevent them to fill with water. For the leg wing, unzipping both legs seems to free it enough to put the booties in the hip holes (where the legstraps of the rig go) and choke PARTIALLY the leg wing, so it will be less likely to fill with water. That's only an idea but as I write this I have my wingsuit and rig on to try it "live" and it seems to be efficient... at least on the ground. S-P ===========================
