About time the Wisconsin Senate went back to work
dmcoco84 replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
Psst... speaking of Hitler... do you know where Joseph Gerbils learned propaganda from? Woodrow Wilson. Thomas Sowell said, "Obama is the reincarnation of Woodrow Wilson, using FDR and Sal Alinsky tactics." Uh oh... He's Black. And Libertarian He's against Affirmative Action too. He must be a racist! Comparing the stripping of PUBLIC sector (BENEFITS) Collective Bargaining to Hitler... is equally as dumb, as comparing the WI protesters to the Egyptian protesters. Hilarious... So ah, Federal employees don't have any collective bargaining rights... at all. Why isn't O-blah-ma (Man Cow - hehe - had to throw one in there just to piss you off) challenging that? Why should state (PUBLIC) employees have it either...? Don't like it? Go work in the private sector! -

Wisconsin State Employees Should Have Some Koch and Smile

The vitriol from protesting Wisconsin workers towards the Kochs emerged quickly and intensely. Signs ranging between lame and vulgar (often both) dot the public-union marches. But what the protesters don’t realize is that they actually have a reason to root for the Koch brothers. According to the State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB), the Wisconsin Retirement System owns $5.5 million in Georgia Pacific corporate bonds. (Georgia Pacific is owned by Koch Industries.) This is the retirement system in which the overwhelming majority of state and local employees participate. These are the pension benefits that public employees are trying so hard to protect. So here’s the challenge: Explain to a Wisconsin state worker that they are the ones helping fund the Koch brothers. Then sit back and watch the fun. Granted, $5.5 million out of a $18.5 billion fixed-income bond fund isn’t a whole lot. (The state also holds about $5 million worth of Colgate bonds, meaning it is in the pocket of Big Toothpaste.) But one imagines the public unions’ vitriol will soften a little bit when they realize their retirement payout is incumbent on the success of the Kochs. They’re all part of the same money-making ecosystem, despite many state employees believing all their retirement funds are invested exclusively in dreams and rainbows. So in the end, public unions should recognize that the real Koch will do them a lot more good than the fake one ever did. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/260979/wisconsin-state-employees-should-have-some-koch-and-smile-christian-schneider -

+0.5 SEIU spent 60 million on Obama... I have videos of them saying it. They are quite proud of it. (Out of town at the moment.) Don't forget about 501(c)3's.... like ACORN. How did they come into play... with the help of PROGRESSIVE, JOHN MC-CRAP-AN. If the 14 don't come back, I hope he does... -

Watched the clip again... nope, no use of the word, pending. But ah, what would that even change? They will still run out of money... there is still a 3.6 billion budget shortfall. Two Politifacts: Maddow takes on Fox News over New Black Panther Party - FALSE http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2011/feb/09/maddow-takes-fox-news-over-new-black-panther-party/ "Despite what you may have heard about Wisconsin’s finances, the state is on track to have a budget surplus this year." - FALSE http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/feb/18/rachel-maddow/rachel-maddow-says-wisconsin-track-have-budget-sur/ BTW... two of the Governor's additional comments: 1) The same groups who are currently protesting, tried to "ram through" employee contacts that would have locked things into place before he took office. They are not truly interested in conceding... 2) Federal Stimulus funds were used to balance the budget previously, the budget deficits were never addressed... now, they must be addressed. So... if collective bargaining for benefits (excluding Wages) is left intact... they will simply, try and get back what they conceded in, later... and it will be back at square one. What Chris Christie has been doing is no different... and several other states will be doing the same. Sorry... time to feel the pain. spelling -

Ok, so I looked at about 10 different stories, quickly... Saw this... this seems to make more sense: At stake is a bill designed to address the state’s budget deficit. Governor Scott Walker, who says the state is “broke,” is asking legislators to pass his Budget Repair Bill to combat a $137 million shortfall through June 30. An upcoming two-year budget for 2011-13 must address a pending $3.6 billion deficit, he said. http://pershingareanews.com/wisconsin-budget-fight-will-other-states-follow-suite.html So we are both right... though, I am far from convinced this repair bill was a fraud and paid out money to his supporters and/or special interests. BUT, they still need to renegotiate pensions... or they'll get nothing. spelling -

So ah, just saw the Governor on Fox Sunday... he said they have a budget deficit of 3.6 Billion. 140 million .... 3.6 billion 140 million .... 3.6 billion 140 million .... 3.6 billion hm... I have OCD so just making sure. Checkin 3 times... Yup... 140 million < 3.6 billion You'd have to elaborate on the 140 million, for me to give my opinion on what you are talking about. But ah, they appear to need to cut a few more bucks... -

Canada made some big cuts though... http://washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columnists/2011/01/john-stossel-are-politicians-serious-about-spending-cuts%3F What did Canada do? It cut spending from 17.5 percent of GDP to 11.3 percent. This wasn't merely a cut in the growth of spending, a favorite trick of congressional committees. These were actual reductions in absolute spending. "If a cabinet minister wanted a smaller cut in one program, he had to come up with a bigger cut in another program," writes Henderson in "Canada's Budget Triumph," published by the Mercatus Center. All but one of Canada's 22 federal departments experienced real cuts in spending. While Canada raised taxes slightly, spending was cut six to seven times more. These supposedly painful cuts didn't cause terrible pain. In fact, there was much more gain than pain. Unemployment dropped, the economy boomed, and the Canadian dollar -- then worth about 71 cents U.S. -- today is about equal to the American dollar. If Canada can do it, we can, too. But the signs aren't good. -

Yup. I'm gonna be blunt and straightforward. Especially if you are gonna speak to me like that. I am so tired of this stupid R vs D game crap... Don't throw me into a group and say I am worshiping big bankers, corporations, wall street and all that stupid mess. So because I want the freest of Free Market possible, and True Capitalism... not Crony Capitalism. That, makes me worshiping the money powers of the nation? That's bull shit. That's pathetic... So, back to topic... If we don't renegotiate pensions... pensions that never should have been granted in the first place... they will get nothing anyways. Would you rather get, something... or nothing, AND the eventual collapse of the Dollar. P.S. - The legislators are pathetic too...and any R that has done it, also is pathetic. They have had plenty of time... We Are Out Of Time... -

Pre-Edit Post-Edit First and foremost... Fuck You... you're an Idiot. Secondly... Both 401Ks and IRA's have a wide variety of different options that can significantly vary your level of risk. CDs and Treasuries... are far safer than being in stocks and mutual funds. If you can't lose money... don't take the risk. If you had all your money is risky shit... that is YOUR fault. Personal Responsibility. Don't buy something unless you fully understand it. I didn't lose shit on my investments... I made smart, simple and low risk choices. I didn't want to lose money... I don't like to Gamble. (Except with me life that is - BASE ) And the stocks I had, sold them loooong ago. The 13k market... was fake. I did keep Pepsi though... Regulation vs. Deregulation is BS. The issue is captured regulators... (Goldman Sacs being regulated by ex-GS... and of course, the Federal Reserve.) End the Fed! http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-1207 Blocked by Nancy Pelosi... interesting. Oh and... Regulators were warned about Madoff... what happened there? Oh yeah, captured and dumb regulators. Jeez... didn't you hear the Savior talking about harmful rhetoric? lol. -

Private sector tax payers, who aren't getting pensions. You mean how Obama screwed over Chrysler and GM shareholders (breaking those contracts) and giving unfair deals to Unions. Hm... smells like hypocrisy. Pretty sure that was all Obama... if Bush was part of it too, so be it. I didn't vote for either of them. Either renegotiate the pensions... or they will get nothing. Pensions only work for one generation... its a pyramid scheme no different than Social Security. Police fire and the rest of State Workers should have 401ks no different than the private sector. -

Typical Bull Shit. So, the CBO is lying? Do you deny that years of Social Security surpluses have been used to pay for other Federal Government bills? Oh and, let me correct myself. We had 1 year... of a budget surplus. 35 years deficit, 5 surplus - with the SS surpluses. 39 years deficit, 1 surplus - without SS surpluses.
