  1. the last hype http://www.2kcomposites.com/html/ff2.html
  2. did you fly one of those ???
  3. does this sound familiar to some you: http://www.cimsa.com found the url on another board some say they use to make canopies for Icarus in europe but I can't confirm...
  4. true since march 03, but I'm not sure that this is relevent for foreigners jumping in France with an FAI license... check this out with the french federation: ffp@ffp.asso.fr Minimu required to jump a video is B2 license and 100+ jumps if you want to video tandems: C license minimum (that is 200+ jumps) If you have the ffp license, then it's valid for you too... alain
  5. airtec stands that their loop should be changed on eveyr repack, no ? (I'm not a rigger, yet ) Alain
  6. if you use a PAL camcorder on a secam tv set, you will kinda get the pictures and sound but not the colors. any camcorder sold in France is PAL (same as the rest of europe) and most of the tv set and video recorder are compliant with both PAL and Secam. Secam was another wierd French stuff back in the end of 70' : no one cares for it anymore...
  7. maybe can you post that question on the forums found here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/ sorry to reply with another question
  8. nope it's been arround for a while and will not for ever... just another 0.02 euro as long as you can find the 101 it's the way to go: it's allready a proven skydiving resistant tool, it will do the same job as the 105, for less money and with a better battery in the roiginal package: you can't go wrong with one of those...
  9. the last sony PC series was PC-8 PC101 PC120 the new ones are PC-103 PC-105 PC-120 (so far) all of them have a firewire IEEE1394 port that works fine with PC's and Mac the PC-103 is only DV-out: you can copy from the camcorder onto the computer but not the other way, which is usefull if you want to archive your editing work on DV tapes
  10. it's been told many many times here, but once again: all SONY PC's rules (forget the other ones)
  11. most of the vid was shot on the Reunion Island (Indian Ocean), exept the last but one wingsuit sequence: my guess is that the big mountain at the back is the Mont Blanc (top of Europe, between France and Italy). I could not say for the sand dune...
  12. RHAAA not yet ! i'm looking forward too
  13. the band is here: http://www.dysby.com/bioenglish.htm 'gona be tricky to find this in the states: this pure french underground hardcore shit
  14. check this out: http://para-net.org/paramag/archives/directlive/direct192/images/SoulFlyers.mpg
  15. yep, it's 3.5mm less in width and 40g less too... not a big difference... lens, CCD, mechanics, and usefull features remain the same as far as I've seen (you can find a detailed data sheet on the german sony website) big difference with the PC101: the 103 and 105 are shipped with a crappy NP-FM30 whereas the 101 has a stronger NP-FM50 battery. what I think ? just bought a 101 on sale
  16. so does it apply only the US/precisions made Safire and omega ? what about those made in Spain and New-Zealand ?
  17. I would put it some other way: do you have time and money involved with being good at both ? I don't (unfortunately)
  18. as far as comfort, camera adjustment, cameye setup, what applies to the FF2 is true for the FFX. Both have an opening on the back to access the on/off/start/stop jogle (PC style camcorders) Good point of the FFX vs FF2: it's a bit narower and 100% snag proof (ok, 99,99999% ;-) ) I did not vote yet 'coz mine is on the way and I've never flown with a 2k product helmet , but I've seen a couple of them at my DZ and they are GOOD !
  19. any chance that the bridle might get arround your neck?
  20. good point... around '99 is what they just replied (man, *this* was a quick answer
  21. how does the mod affect front riser flying and recovery arc? Mine was unstable on double front before I lengthen the lower steering line (that's actualy why I did it) => the flare is a little bit deeper but still there, while it's way nicer and safer to dive. I'm curious about the mod cause I might consider it if I sell the canopy to a low timer or some one wanting easier flare and not flying with fronts. (thinking of a few female friends of mine here ;-) ) Relining it with the 2 specs, would do the trick as well, right ?
  22. I'm quite surprised to ear people reporting brisk openings on a safire ? I get a consistant soft 800', dumping in track is not a problem either. mine was made in NZ, could this make any difference ? just wondering...
  23. few thoughts: does it fly strait with the steering line stowed or released ? what's your wingloading ? (mine at 1.35:1 is quite sensitive to harness input / square body on opening) maybe ask some to jump your canopy and eventualy experience turn ?
  24. I've heard that the first pro-dytters (back in 98) did not have the economy mode (ie: it turns off 14 hours after the last jump) and could not be turned off... Is that a true statement and can anyone tell me when these features where introduced ? 'just in case I find a good deal on a used one
