It shows off 4 way anyway? haha, But that leader does look clean/very well made and not too long. so keeps it interesting. The tandem camera guy had focus issues though... Thanks for sharing. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

I don't know about the staff haka, but the sport jumping is coming. In case you didin't notice every jump has been with me and a customer that is it so far. we are only 6 weeks into it. My wife gets here in a few days then we can have more than one person in the plane and when a fun jumper shows up we can jump with them, over here it is far too expensive to take the plane up for a fun jump with just my wife and myself but that is all about to change soon with a bigger plane and high altitude!!! Not too many sport jumoer drifting around, yet. It all takes time, video content I can work on but it is the tid bits I am interested in learning about here, little differences that make it great... Thanks for the input "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

Hi All, I banged up a promo for my DZ, only have handicam footage for now but outside footage is coming this week.. Watch it here. I am happy with it, will change however, and have been using it as a leader to all the dvd's. I find it is a little long for leader but good for promo. Before I simply reduce it in length as a leader, I wonder what good ideas you geeks out there have. or criticism. We will get some after effects stuff going on etc. but where are the ideas... I bet there are some cool ones out there... Giz a look? "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

I am entirely unsure that s why I asked?!?! but in all seriousness there si some serious dancing on some serious thin ice for both prties now the guns have comoe out of the holster. If one is wanting to pass themseleves off as the diplomatic and democratic high and mighty, then stooping to a lower level gains no credibility IMO, instability yes it gains plenty of instability, but this is a bid for war not a call for resolution. There are other ways; but they dont make as much money for the same people! "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

North korea has claimed to have nothing to do with it. Can you point me to evidence that they actually did do it? The Gulf of Tonkin rings a bell! Is all this a can of worms the american empire can handle/afford, or one the worlds economy and ecology can survive. You need to move forward with the utmost caution, this is not just a game of chess. This is beginning to sound like Deja Vu! Flexing your muscles at a skitzed out dictator that is known for not wanting to be seen as inferior... Hmm thats wise? With a pull out the bridle and pilot chute is in the container with a small bridle going to the handle (pillow) which is stowed in the regular place ( usualy). They usually have a straight pin and the user pulls the pin then throws the pilot cute into the relative wind. With a BOC the pilot chute pulls the pin, the pull out eliminates a malfunction but adds another... I wouldn't worry about it if you are not jumping it but you are absolutely correct in asking about something yo are unsure of, especially if you are packing it. As long as you follow the instructions of the user you are doing your job, but if you are not happy then simply don't pack it. Only an idiot would make someone pack their rig that does not understand it correctly. keep the passion and be safe!
-
This system requires the user to open the container before the pilot chute is extracted. It can defianately be done incorrectly but is still a very good system. Don't hang on the the pilot chute too long though..ouch, or let go before the pin is pulled . "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

He has a pull out pilot chute, it is a different system to BOC ( which is the pouch you were talking about ). He may be sloppy, many people are; but Pull out is not an unsafe system, it is considered to be a safer option for freefliers by many. This system makes the likelihood of a horseshoe (the ugliest) malfunction very minimal. I don;t use pull out but very seriously considered it. So what next then? another Iraq? Flexing muscles is no way to resolve anything, especially international relations with rougue dictators. It is like poking a bully in the shoulder. Not wise with quite a predictable outcome. War does not answer, it hust creates more qusetions. It makes a shitload of cash for some people though. I'm hearing headlines along the lines of the US destroying opportnities for dialogue on nuclear dissarment. War games, what is that? flexing muscles? How diplomatic. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

Huh, I stood up my micro raven 110 the only time I have had to use it. I'm sure ther is better but that is a bit over the top. My first rig was one of those old racers with no riser covers and a rinsed out old maveric 200, but i cannot fault it as it performed as it was intended. still have it and will probably jump it again one day. For me the worst rig is any rig that does not perform as it was intended to do. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

Thats what people said only a few years (a couple of decades) ago when Rugby went from amateur to professional. why does skydiving have to be done by hippies in tie die when you can have a slick operation offering people the time of thier life. I don't suggest you approach is bad or negative in any way in fact i admire your apporach but you would get quite tired of bothering if you were here, I'm certain. They will be too busy asking you to say something to their mum ("sorry i didn't tell you mum") on the video. I teach them about New Zealand, theworld heritage park and the geography so thay want to come back to New Zealand! I have been declined by many people when I have asked them if they want to pull the release, too much to think about, they just want to enjoy themselves on ther first jump no stress! I tell all my customers not to worry if they get it all wrong just enjoy yourself and soak up the freefall as it will only last so long. Then they usually get it right as they just have to relax! Different strokes for different folks! Yet I have seen time and time again instructors blaming the students' poor perfomance on the customer themselves... That is a failed instructor. Who cares if they don't get it right, let them have fun they are paying through the nose for it, it is thier choice! -

This is what our customers get to experience, we do not even have an adequate landing area for students and a licence jumpers (yet) but people want to jump out of a plane here, thay want to do it once and this is the place, that is the mentality. bucket list.... Skydive Franz Promo Just wait and see there will be a pond... we will do students, and we will have boogies and funjumpers are welcome. in fact there will be plenty of slots going this summer (US winter 10/11 ) as we will be in a larger aircraft without plant to fill it. Funjumpers are very much a part of Skydive Franz and i will be one of them, but we have a B licence prerequesate. 9 out of 10 of our customers are more interested in what is out the window than learning about skydiving. But once again; if they are interested and ask then they get all the information they get. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix -

get a grip. You, me and everyone can blame the NZPIA for single handedly destroying any strength New Zealand sport skydiving had, by snavelling the part 149 off the NZPF and deciding to not charge annual fees and turn fun jumpers away from their dropzones. Don't assume anything, Australia has very much the same carnival ride attitude with their tandems and their federation and sport skyding fraternity is among the most healthy in the world for funding and support to the sport. It is the attitude of those that control the industry (largeDZ 'old boy' dropzone owners)in NZ, not the Instructors that have done this to NZ sport skydiving. You watch me try and turn it around over the next few years. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix -

You are dancing around semantics, the question was; what is your return rate. This means how many people return to your dropzone for a second jump after they jump the first time. read more carfully please. Agreed, One only needs to look at evidence also. New Zealand has some great examples, with the only native land based mammal being a bat. Birds are predominant and New Zealand by evidence seems to have broken off gondwana during the jurassic period when early forms of birds, by evidence of fossile remains, are believed to first come to be. Now. There are many many bird species in NZ and many of them are flightless due to the only predators being large Birds for millions of years. This takes us to the Kiwi, not the drunken humans found around bonfires at night but the bird that has only small reminants of wings. There were also other large flightless birds now extinct called the Moa So in brief only very primitive birds existed as New zealand became seperate from gondwana, not there are many many species some of which are flightless, and some of whch only have reminants of wings, the closest living relatives of these wingless flightless birds, are found in South America and Australia and can fly. So they needed to fly or evolve from a more primitive species to get here, but now they dont have (useful) wings at all, is that not evolution? That would depend on the numbers involved, there are a couple of large complexes but there could be varied price ranges as well, from backpacker to 5 star! "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

these are valid points, it is relatively cold but not bitter cold, the main thing is the weather is stable = no wind. Only one day have i landed in over 5 knots of wind (usually no wind!) since the start of June, in summer it is a different story. I have been jumping in a cotton jumpsuit and normal gloves (leather palm) no worries. I am hearing you on the competing with other boogies though. I'll have to watch the weather patterns and trends but accomodation is almost impossible for samll groups in summern let alone large ones, this town is like a beehive in summer. the beach jumps we already have covered, the glacier jumps (actually landing on the glacier neve) would be tricky, possible but tricky. It would take an enormous amount of brown nosing the departmet of conservation, and the neve is at 7000' so landing would be tricky, but that is definately something worth looking into, if they can land at 12k at everest, then 7k in ice shouldn;t be a problem??? It is all just thoughts at the moment but if it does go down it will be around this time next year. Just collecting ideas and seeing who might be interested and what could be incorporated to gain more interest... It is also ski season so skiing and snowboarding could be done in the same trip. We are at sea level so not so cold as queenstown etc. but that is where the skiing is and only a few hours drive through world heritage park to get there... one of the warmest/least cold places for winter in NZ is here on the west coast, still cold however but the hot pools are even better then. That has to be the tidiest porter out there. What engine does it have, and is it equipped with oxygen? I hope they use that for the swoopers in the next comp? We have just started a new DZ in NZ and we have a Fazza Sky windblade to add a little class from the 2010 Dubai parachuting championships.
