No problem, just skip past it.

I get a fair number of seemingly empty threads

It seems Boeing is re-evaluating it's position on things Woke. According to Yahoo Finance: "To be clear, DEI principles would not and will not play any part in the [Boeing’s] very limited role in this process," the company said in the filing, "that is to say, Boeing will be solely focused on the capabilities, professional background, and experience of the candidates." It added that "while Boeing has published aspirations related to diversity and inclusion," the company "does not compromise on merit or talent in pursuit of those aspirations and has a merit-based performance system with procedures aimed at encouraging an equality of opportunity, not of outcomes." It seems prioritizing perceived victim status is a less than ideal business model.

A veritable wellspring of vitriol devoid of content. I have to admit, you're consistent.

It's both. MAGA and WOKE quality nicely. Religion is but a communicable form of mental illness.

One Benito Mussolini, a life long Socialist, editor of the Socialist paper "Avanti!," claimed authorship of "The Doctrine of Fascism." The origins of Fascism lie on the Left, not the Right.

Without PAs you don't appear to have much to say. Pity.

Rommel was brilliant tactically, but strategically? Not so much. He had a Major in charge of logistics for a CORPS. He rapidly outran his supply lines and had tanks with no fuel. I'll take Omar Bradley, all things considered. Trump has no business commanding anyone.

Gee, I just thrive on PAs! Thank goodness you're immune from timeouts. I was in Spain under Franco, and knew rather a few people who recounted the actions of the Marxists and actively decided Franco's approach was an improvement. I wouldn't have survived The Third Reich but spent a few years in the Bundesrepublik and visited the DDR, and knew people of various stances. Some told me that things didn't work out as advertised, but, all things considered, it was better than the East, which is what the Marxists were trying to achieve in the '20s. Weirdly enough, the greatest source of neo Nazis was Ostdeutschland. In any event, the political stance on the Left in this country is straight out of Lewis Carroll, or that river in Egypt as the case may be. All things considered, I preferred Franco's Spain to Brezhnev's Soviet Union. YMMV.

One factor in the rise of Hitler, that I'm guessing is overlooked in this thread, is that of Marxists/Communists/Socialists/Anarchists. There was a large cohort of Germans who found the thugs from Bavaria to be entirely loathsome - but still an improvement over the various Marxist types. The same goes for Italians and Spanish, and the track record of Socialist Workers' Paradises rather vindicates that standpoint; Stalin and Mao make Hitler look amateurish when it comes to mindless killing. There is similarly a fair number of voters who find Trump to be perfectly nauseating, but are willing to use him to keep the batshit crazy left in check. Without Antifa, BLM, DEI and WOKE in general, Trump wouldn't have a chance. As it is, enough people may be willing to bring a barf bag to the voting booth to keep Harris out of office. This is one election where I don't think either side can fully claim "we suck less!" The lot of them are perfectly revolting. BSBD, Winsor

Irish were earlier, not to mention the Algonquins that were having a picnic when they showed up. I take credit for discovering Russia. Got off the plane and there it was.

Evidently there is no evidence that Columbus (or Columbo or Colon) spoke Italian. There is, however, evidence that he was from Portugal, and Jewish lineage would be one reason to obscure his background if doing business in Iberia at the time. It's akin to Coneheads coming "from France."

They should have touted classrooms as accommodations so that the Gideons would spread the Good News™ for free.

I'm impressed by how abuse and vitriol can be used in lieu of logic and reasoning. Bravo!

C'mon, man! Nobody's perfect...

'Politics by other means,' according to Clasewitz.

"Top Secret" had a wonderful Pinto sequence.

"The Spy Who Came In From The Cold" comes to mind, as does the scene where a detective walks up and hands cash to a gang member in front of his compatriots. The most effective part of the exploding device activity is the uncertainty it instills in the opposition. Snipers and land mines are largely psychological weapons. Having someone drop when there isn't a good hide within 600 meters tends to make the troops nervous, and having the commander drop from his horse before he can say "Charge! resulted in delaying the attack so they could break for lunch. The Bouncing Betty is a castration mine - after seeing a compatriot lose testicles to one, getting a young soldier to cross into an area marked "MINEN!" is easier said than done. When all is said and done, the goal is to get the attackers to stop attacking. If that goal can be achieved peacefully, so much the better. If seriously messing with their heads involves killing and maiming some of them (preferably the key individuals), that works too. We've tried the peaceful approach and that didn't work well enough. Maybe blowing up a few of them will buy us some slack, it's worth a shot. BSBD, Winsor

If you hadn't noticed, the rules are enforced rather capriciously at times.

Most of the people in this neighborhood were reasonably fluent.

Since nothing you said had anything to do with what I said, I accept your characterization of your stance. I suppose your three points of contact give stability to your position.
