Another recess appointment by our favorite dictator...
gary350 replied to PhillyKev's topic in The Bonfire
OK - this is going TOO FAR. These kinds of insulting words are totally uncalled for! On behalf of bumbling, idiotic, power hungry, egotistical, lying fools everywhere, I demand an apology for comparing us to that scumbag GWB! Now! -
I don't think there is just one kind of "real" orgasm for women. That said, I'll defer to that vast repository of wisdom known as National Lampoon: Is It a Real Orgasm? The honest female orgasm is three to fifteen rhythmic contractions of the outer third of the vagina at 8-second intervals (the contractions follow the beat of the song "Surfin' USA"). Unless these contractions occur, you can regard her groaning, moaning, clawing, kicking, begging for mercy, and shouting filthy religious epithets as bargain-basement histrionics.

YOU may think they HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW, but that doesn't make it so - at least not in this society, in this country. You want to know whether people you come in contact with have a virus? Write your congressperson and try to get a law passed. Until then, sorry - you're out of luck. And the CRIMINALLY thing? No different? What a crock of shit. There is a huge difference between willfully engaging in high-risk behavior and having an accident during extremely low-risk (fluid transfer) behavior.

Bullshit. Ignorance. Yeah, Jimbo - we get the message that you believe it is a terminal and contagious disease. But that doesn't make it true. Ever hear of Magic Johnson? Or the thousands of others who will live normal lifespans after contracting the virus, if treated early and aggressively (and possibly with a bit of luck.) Contagious - yeah, we get that too - with almost hysterical clarity. But again, it doesn't make it true - the contraction rates outside of IV/sex are incredibly low - almost non-existent. The more important issues here, IMO, are of privacy, relative risk, and personal choice. Those issues have been addressed nicely by scottjaco, casquito, andyman, Liemberg and others (thank you). Still, I felt compelled to call bullshit on these points, especially since they are given so often and emphatically. Ignorance breeds fear.

You beat me to it... thats my guess too. So that means we should say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Yeah - if that's the case, Happy Birthday. Are you planning your 1st jump right on your 18th Birthday? 16th? I made my 1st jump at Elsinore on my 18th Bday - August 15th, 1978 - wonder how many other folks out there had to wait and then did their first right on the day? Anyway, very cool that you are on here and learning so much about it before you have even started - have a blast! -Gary

OK, Gravitymaster, I have a serious question for you. How hard did you have to look to find a new avatar MORE disturbing than your last one?!?

Hey Benny - I already knew you were a closet metrosexual as soon as I saw your new signature line with the quote from David Bowie - It's from the issue of Esquire that JUST came out, so you must have a subscription! That has metro all over it. Not that there's anything wrong with that. . . (fine, yes - I get the damn magazine too. . . )

When you see an acronym you don't know, enter it and the word "acronym" into google - never fails. At least not when I've tried it. . .

I know, I know - I'm trying to stay calm. (from another post) I actually do struggle with how dangerous it is to let myself believe that this nightmare might actually come to an end in november. I want to believe, I want to be optimistic and positive, but at the same time I don't want to set myself up to be devastated emotionally if it doesn't happen. Life will have to go on. Trying to find a balance between the two. But like a lot of people across the country, I am disgusted and angry and fearful like I have never been before, and I AM going to channel it into action. My hope comes from hearing more and more folks who are in the middle, or even to the right, who think this administration is not just conservative but radical, out of control, untrustworthy, and flat out bad for America's future. I know how many people are reactionary and fickle and just plain clueless - I know a terrorist attack might swing things suddenly. But, THIS POLL IS GREAT NEWS! MORE PEOPLE ARE GETTING IT!!!! At least for now, and damnit, I'm gonna risk letting myself have some hope.

NEW survey out today, this time by CNN/USA Today/Gallup: (CNN) -- Democratic presidential hopefuls John Edwards and John Kerry both hold leads of 10 percentage points or more in hypothetical match-ups against President Bush http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/02/18/elec04.prez.poll/index.html

Extra! Extra! More Kerry Imploding! ANOTHER poll came out today, this time by CNN/USA Today/Gallup, that shows Bush getting his sorry, lying ass beat by EITHER Kerry or Edwards, with both leads in double digits. Of course, you can keep hoping for another terrorist attack or that 200 million dollars can buy enough TV lies to change a whole lot of minds. . . http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/02/18/elec04.prez.poll/index.html

>~Has anyone heard that Kerry, proponent of reducing the outsourcing of jobs here in the USA, had acampaign call center in Canada? Isn't that outsourcing? This does it! I'm voting Republican after this shit! It's an outrage, I tell ya! http://www.jsonline.com/news/gen/feb04/206608.asp The presidential campaign of Sen. John Kerry on Tuesday dumped a firm it hired to make automated phone calls to Wisconsin voters - after it learned the calls were routed through Canada. The action came quickly, following criticism earlier in the day that the Kerry calling effort was exporting American jobs. "We just didn't want any part of it," said Bill Burton, Kerry's Wisconsin campaign spokesman. Kerry dumped Sound Media Group, Inc., a firm based in Irvine, Calif., which originated the calls but sent them to Wisconsin through a "Canadian switchboard," Burton said. He said the company had just been hired and had only done one evening's worth of calls for the Kerry campaign. Kerry's campaign records for 2002 and 2003 showed no disbursements to Sound Media, according to a review by the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics. "A campaign has thousands of vendors. This is just one we used yesterday, and we won't use them again," Burton said. A woman answering the phone at Sound Media said that the firm would have no comment on the Kerry calls. The firm's Web site says it can "simultaneously send hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions of consistent telephone messages." (more)

Sorry - I just can't help taking the bait. Please tell me this is sarcasm? Coming from someone with your brains, it has to be, right? 1) Since Bush took office, there has been a devastating and sustained assault on the environment, in almost every way imaginable. There is truly no shame in this administration regarding the environment. 2) Pledge, yes - very nice, very compassionate - he's a reformer with results, a truly compassionate conservative. Yeah, and he's also restored honesty and integrity to the White House. Please. Do you not know about the actual FUNDING for this pledge? About how what little money that has actually been produced has come mostly from CUTTING other aid by hundreds of millions of dollars, most notably child health and vaccination programs? -

Bush never degraded his fellow soldiers??? Don't make me puke. How degrading is it to support the war but use daddy's connections to skip out on going to fight in it? You want more degrading? How 'bout as president, FUCKING the veterans who actually DID go, after campaigning that he would help them? All while cutting taxes for millionaires and billionaires. THAT is pathetic. ---------------------------------------------- Bush Pays Lipservice to Vets, Then Slashes Their Health Care Late last week President Bush visited combat veterans at Walter Reed Medical Center. During his visit, he said "We have made a commitment to the troops, and we have made a commitment to their loved ones, and that commitment is that we will provide excellent health care - excellent care - to anybody who is injured on the battlefield."1 His comments stand in stark contrast to the policies he has pushed - and the record he has amassed - as President. Just this year alone, the President "announced his formal opposition to a proposal to give National Guard and Reserve members access to the Pentagon's health-insurance system"- a slap in the face to thousands of troops, especially considering "a recent General Accounting Office report estimated that one of every five Guard members has no health insurance."2 The President also this year proposed to cut $1.5 billion (14%) out of funding for military family housing/medical facilities. This followed his 2002 budget which, according to major veterans groups, "fell $1.5 billion short" of adequately funding veterans care.3 This is not the first time the President has staged a photo-op to thank veterans at Walter Reed and then proposed policies that hurt veterans. A little less than a year ago, the President visited the medical hospital4, and then on the same day announced his proposal to cut off 164,000 veterans from the VA's prescription drug discount program.5 The result of the President's harsh treatment of veterans is that "more than 235,000 veterans are currently waiting 6 months or more for initial medical appointments" with "many veterans waiting 2 years just to be seen by a doctor."6 At Ft. Stewart, Georgia, UPI reported "hundreds of sick and wounded U.S. soldiers including many who served in the Iraq war are languishing in hot cement barracks here while they wait - sometimes for months - to see doctors."7 And CBS News reports that the administration appears, in some cases, to be denying benefits to soldiers wounded in Iraq. Specifically, many soldiers say they are seeing their pay and health benefits severely reduced after they are badly wounded.8 Sources: 1.
