  1. Well, I personally hate cows at the moment, but it's just because of my job. I still eat them, though.
  2. This might strike you as odd, but those two things really can't be viewed separately from each other in this case. Right, back to the topic....Boobies! Boobies! And even more boobies!
  3. Do we really need these kind of posts? A heated discussion that gets us nowhere is one thing, racist ranting is something else all together.
  4. God? Heck, I've experienced freefall and I still sometime have doubts about the existance of gravity. As for answers- many "Books" offer them. Try thinking past the boundaries of your culture and maybe you'll see why none of them can be the Truth.
  5. I agree with this completely, and I'm an atheist. Even those of us that don't believe in God should still take the time to enjoy the beauty in the world, whatever its origin. Amen to that!
  6. Once, for a change, I'm glad technology has not yet progressed to the point where we could transfer smells over internet discussion boards.

    FAQ

Seeing that you're from Norway, you might want to check out the classifieds on headdown.net. And talk to your instructor about what you need. He knows you better than we do.
  8. And to elaborate on my question; in what way is your personal proof of god's existence any better than the proof of a, say, sunite muslim or an orthodox jew? My view on this is simple as well- since no firm believer's faith can be proven on a non-subjective level, and since I, from an agnostic's point of view, can see that faith (or knowing if you will) can be equally strong in persons of different religious beliefs, I can safely conclude that none of them is right, because if one of them was right, all the others should be too and I hope you'll agree that's impossible. But if your personal faith makes you a better man, I definitely won't be the one to tell you to abolish it.
  9. Nope.. I said if you aren't saved. Although I can't see us getting anywhere with this thread-just out of curiosity- which religion do you subscribe to?
  10. I couldn't care less about that christian construct, but IF there is some sort of deity that actually cares, he/she/it/they know/s how I feel...not the least bit thankful at the moment. Yo, what's up with these final exams? And grounding? No gratitude from me, that's for sure.
  11. Right, sorry, didn't know that. I hope my description was good enough for you to picture it. I'm actually not sure if reserve sealing is mandatory over here- a new parachuting law is in the making and from what I remember, the old one doesn't mention it- but our riggers do it anyway.
  12. Matthew; check the reserve pin on your rig. You are looking for a piece of thin thread with a small lead pellet on it. If you take a closer look at that pellet, you'll see that the license number of the rigger who packed the reserve is imprinted on it. You'll also notice that you can't open the reserve container without breaking this seal- it's there to guarantee that noone's been messing with your reserve and to identify the licensed rigger who packed it (in case of a reserve malfunction or a normal save when you're not sure whom you should buy a bottle of liquor.)
  13. Hey, I'm currently jumping a Vector 2 and so far have not had any problems freeflying with it. I think it has been modified quite a bit- the velcro strips on riser covers are a lot wider than what I've seen on other containers, the pin cover tuck tab seems to be a bit longer and there's velcro securing the bridle almost all the way from the pin (under the flap) to the pouch. I wanted to sew on a bridle cover, but my rigger said velcro should be enough. The guy who lent it to me did some 100+ freefly jumps on it and I've gone hd as fast as 220mph with it without a problem. Mind you, this might very well be an exception to the rule, but imo (for what it's worth) a properly modified V2 can be freeflown. Have a rigger inspect the container and tell you what can be done.
  14. Once...the engine started making funny noises at 300', so we landed, stepped outside while the pilot somehow fixed it and then went up again. Experiencing a landing in our an-2 definitely gives you a new reason to jump out of it.

It seems to be working fine. I'm actually currently dl'ing four times faster than from the old server. Thanks for putting it back online!!
  16. Man, some of these suggestions are WAY better than the correct answer!
  17. I thought it was the middle of the desert, but anyway... Good riddle!
  18. And just remembered another good one; "This is pharmacy stuff. One pill per party-head. Anyone double-doses on this shit, they'll be frying eggs off him in ER."
  19. Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas, isn't it? Great movie, but very easy to misunderstand. How about this one; "Is that cat dead?" "I don't know. I think it's asleep but it's been there for days."
  20. I think you nailed it there. Although perhaps someone more experienced will describe the many ways a tube can be used.
  21. What are they saying? The text is a bit small and I doubt I understand romanian anyway.
  22. Tried; "It must suck to work the midnight shift, huh?", said in a very patronising tone after the cop caught us drinking in the vicinity of the embassy he was guarding and told us, in a tone that seemed a bit too arrogant to me, to clean the mess someone else had made. I think it was the closest I ever came to experiencing police brutality.
  23. Yes, but I heard that by the end of the seventh week, they were so disgusted with what they were doing that they dug her up again.
  24. From my amateur-designer point of view- keep it subtle. The sleeve design looks quite stylish as it is, white print would be just too loud.
  25. That's the beauty of it- it doesn't have to move, you just point the catapult in another direction and launch the next student.
