  1. Thanks Tom. That is a very informative article, and I also hope it helps people evaluate some of their actions. Besides the whole knowledge thing, BASE jumping can turn women's hormones on, and make them very horny. A good thing indeed, but not when life is at stake. Am I wrong about this women? Do you not want someone to kiss and hold after you make a BASE jump, just to celebrate life? I want a woman there for me once I survive a BASE jump, but not watching. Think about the what-if scenarios. An excerpt from my life? OK, this is from the latest email I got from a woman I was hoping would bring sanity into my life with a relationship. "First, if you get a chance, call me later tonight. By later, I mean around 11 or 12 tonight, I probably won't be home before then. You're afraid of me? I'm afraid of you, but probably not for the same reasons. There is a lot about me you don't know and a lot of shit I have had to deal with in the last few years. My life is finally startiing to make sense and have some direction to it. My life is borderline "normal" these days, as in, not full of hurt, chaos, depression, anger, craziness or worthlessness. From the things you tell me, I feel that having you in my life would bring some of the chaos back, and I'm not sure I am prepared to handle that. By being in a relationship, you take on the other person's joys as well as troubles. And perhaps this is selfish, but I don't really feel like doing that right now. Not with you or with anyone else. Now it is time for me to focus on me and where my life is taking me. I finally feel like I am in a position in life where I might actually be able to do somehting worthwhile and I don't want anything holding me back. Pretty much why I broke up with my ex boyfriend. I wanted to go places and experience all I could in my travels, he wanted me to move to XXXXX and live with him. You seem like the kind of person who falls in love too fast and too hard." She knows it. I have a very addictive personality. So addictive that I keep doing things that I know will kill me. I think I can stop, but I don't want to. There's my real danger. I don't think I am an addict, I just think I enjoy things greatly, and don't have a good enough reason to stop. Honestly, yes, I should quit BASE jumping. It gives me a chance to unleash my craziness and go for a big run with it. Of course, as said above, it will kill me someday. Oh well. Live life, enjoy life, and have fun. Peace, Thomas
  2. Yes. Maybe I need prozac. My post was simply to alert you that a sophist had entered our midst, and his words should be taken as my words. Listen, think, and evaluate for yourself. I ask that none of you trust me or this sophist, but that you think for yourself. It is your own judgement, and all I can recommend is a little thinking on your part. Think for yourself. It is your own life you are risking. Peace, Thomas "Know yourself. Know what you're doing. Question authority."---Timothy Leary
  3. Ooops. You clicked on this. Was it because you are a sophist, or because you were interested in what CRAZYTHOMAS said? Just wondering. And mindless post-whoring, trying to get to the next level. How many more before I become more than an enthusiast? oh, and HI D-DOG. Peace, Thomas
  4. True. But only a man can convince a woman that this is a good idea. Check out the Bible. A husband is master of his wife. Or so the bible says. Peace, Thomas
  5. The main point here is about money. No offense meant skydiverchik. College kids do not have the money usually to pay the fines, or it wouldn't be such a problem. Let's not help her with words, let's help her with her fines. Would the story change if she told you: "I don't have the money to pay the fines or lawyer"? I don't know if this is the case, but who else would help her with the cost of ONE jump ticket to keep her out of jail? I will start up the donation fund list. 1. Crazy Thomas 2. 3. 4. and if we fill the list like a world record attempt big way, life will be better for her. Peace, Thomas

    BASE Canopies

Don't forget Vertigo. Vertigo also offers vents on the bottom of the daggers they make. They have the option available. That's all. Fairness for all. Vertigo also offers vented technology. Why fight about who has it? Let's all be safer, and jump longer. More? No. The odds are stacked against us BASE jumpers in simple math. The more we jump = the more we die. Simple math. So, who wants to dis Robin Heid here, because he only has around 100 jumps? I think he is smarter because he picks and chooses his jumps. Let me guess. I am doing dirty laundry again? Peace, Thomas "Can't we all just get along?"
  7. The real question is this: How can we help? Really, $750 for your lawyer? What if we got a donation to skydiverchick fund set up? I'd give $10 to help. If we all give a little, it could mean a lot. Seriously, let's help her. Let's show love. She skydives, so she is one of us freefall loving people. Let's help each other when we can. If I had the whole $750 to get her a lawyer, I would. Not yet I don't though, so I can throw down $10 to help. Let's come together as a community and see if we can't help one of are own. Please, let's all help her through this. Peace, Thomas
  8. I'm sorry. I just edited this post so that it was more polite. All I can say, is please don't get me started Delusional. Leave me alone. I left you alone on the BASE board, wasn't that enough for you? Peace, Thomas
  9. Top Ten reasons cats sleep on black shirts: 1. You keep kicking the cats out of bed. 2. Your green shirt still stinks. 3. Cats hate racists, and are protesting your white shirt. 4. They think you look bad in it, and want you to stop wearing it. 5. Black? I'm colorblind. 6. Your brown shirt looks like a pile of shit on the floor. 7. Well, you have two shirts, and you aren't wearing the black one. 8. Cats love the smell of a bar. 9. Cats like the smell of the guy you saw last night. 10. Litterbox was full. Peace, Thomas
  10. Very well said. And look at the Homeland Security Bill. It is thought by most to protect us, but I feel it is to strip away our constitutional rights. They can't do it legally yet, but now they can. Read the post about parallel legal system. This shit is happening. Wait until they have a terrorist jump out of a plane with a bomb and kill people. Then, NO MORE SKYDIVING, because it is purely a terrorist activity. Shit, there goes my paranoia again. Oops, I here the government knocking on my door. Time for me to go back to jail, where they can silence me. Peace, Thomas
  11. Narcimund: one word--Sophist! I have seen your type before. I see you are in Eugene. Are you part of the PDX crew yet? Peace, Thomas
  12. Or maybe people can distinguish reality from fiction, and understand fiction is funner. Anything is possible in fiction. Shit, I'm still trapped in reality where I can't fly. I can exit stable, but always end up on the ground in some way. See, in my fiction world, I have wings and don't need a parachute. I fly around all day checking out cleavage. And when flying around, wow, great view of cleavage. Then, since it is fiction....... I won't write the rest. But it is fun. Peace, Thomas why is it hard to believe people are that dissociative? Ever try drugs? no more, no less
  13. If the one Finn I know (a BASE jumper who eats light bulbs for fun) is any example, then Finland really is the world's largest den of corruption and debauchery. How can Crazy Thomas pass this up? I mean, we have a judgemental, assumptive, stupid argument going on here, backed up by what, numbers? Same people who believe they are better than me at skydiving because they have more jumps? I'll admit it, I am not a very good person to invite on a 4 way skydiving. A 4 way BASE? I'll pass on that. Then I might have to see something I don't want to see. Don't make me mention examples either. It's a touchy subject still to this day. I am not a good skydiver. I can't figure out when to throw the pilot chute. Last time I tried I went to 1800 feet, and my crappy A license says 3000. or was that changed again to be 3500? Even D licenses are only good to 2000, so I guess I just need to try out for my psycho license, which allows me to pull when I want. USPA still issuing psycho licenses? And what do they charge? Back to the crime rate deal. I have met some Finns before in person, and they weren't even BASE jumpers. They were ski jumpers, and they were very nice, sane, normal people. Ski jumpers are the BIG sports stars over in Finland, if I remember correctly. That's why the US always fails to make any kind of medal stand in the olympic ski jumping event. I do think I recall it happening though. Anyways, you judge Finland based on ONE single BASE jumper that you met? And you already know some of us BASE jumpers aren't the most normal people. Not everyone in finland BASE jumps. Like QUADE says in "Total Recall"--Free your mind! Peace, Thomas
  14. Yeah, because we like boobies. everyone gets a fair shot at em when they are young. It's called breast feeding. Men are trained to like boobies at a very young age. Peace, Thomas
  15. Grab something else with your left hand! Then definitely click the Boobies link! Peace, Thomas

  17. Sounds like you got it Erno. Mac don't Window. Window don't Mac. welcome to the Microsoft Monopoly. Our software, files, and programs will not run on your platform. Microsoft....take the name apart. Micro--really small Soft--Bill gates has ED. ED--Erectile Disfunction Solution? drugs. really, pop some viagra Bill, and get the courage to interface the two systems. Hey Tom, can Mac open up Windows files, or is the encryption and language a barrier? Peace, Thomas
  18. yeah, what he said. I went out for a smoke break, and my hand was near froze by the time I finished. I checked the temp, and I am sitting at 2.8 degrees F. Wish some canadians would tell us what real cold is. I have heard of some of them jumping in -30 C weather. anyone still skydiving in this cold? Peace, Thomas
  19. Some people were able to comprehend. Thanks for the new ideas. All I had to do was post, and other people brought new ideas into a somewhat boring thread. It was boring when I started it, had the HH looking at it to check acceptability, and then other people started to make this thread humorous. Thanks guys. This is a cool place. Peace, Thomas
  20. Hey, flyingcanuck. This post isn't living up to my name because I was outside lighting myself on fire. What else did I need? oh yeah, potato chips and a leotard. Will my dress make up for a leotard? It is a nice tye-die dress, and fits me nicely. I have no other "Drag" apparel yet. The bra I had got stolen. It was nice, and all I had to do was trade my t-shirt for it. hell of a deal. I got her bra, her name, and her phone number, and I had to do was give up a Tshirt. That occurred this summer, at a bar, after a long night of drinking. But I still remembered the phone number and name. Damned if I didn't go home with a different woman though. Peace, Thomas
  21. All I was asking for was a vote, which came from a thought. Peace, Thomas
  22. Under the influence of what though? I am sober now, want to see if I sound the same? Peace, Thomas
  23. I agree with Tom on this one. I have trouble accepting it. It is a very crazy sport. When a person gets into BASE, they may understand this. Sure, I can tolerate it, and I do love it. But acceptance? wow, that is a tough one. I don't fear death on BASE jumps. I have already been told time and time again that I will die BASE jumping. To which I say: "I hope so!" I fear getting injured BASE jumping. Death is the end, but more often than not, some part of the parachute will open enough to only break backs or femurs or other bones, and a person lives through it. And the biggest worry I have? Getting paralyzed BASE jumping. Then, I can't even take the last step myself, and I am forced to live through the rest of my paralyzed life. Peace, Thomas
  24. Want to see free speech taken away? Watch me. Then you will see. Hope you all understand the magnitude of this decision. Peace, Thomas
  25. Who can accept it? Who can tolerate it? and who likes it? Me, I am yes for all three. But that's just me. Peace Thomas
