Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Primaries and Caucuses

I'm not sure why you are so concerned. Maybe we can have a National Hypocritical Jackass Day to celebrate Obama and his administration's suspension of refugee programs - which by his standard - is a "betrayal of our deepest values" Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour -

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Primaries and Caucuses
Coreeece replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Right, which John Oliver himself said, in the second part of his segment. He just asked that if the super-delegates never really mattered, why have them? I don't remember him saying anything about how they may influence the voters. He basically just emphasizes the fact that the super-delegates don't really matter, but could cause problems in the future - so send an email on groundhog day if it pisses you off. The problem is that the majority of voters - those voting for Trump and Hillary - probably aren't gonna send that email, are they? Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Primaries and Caucuses

It is sad, because even at the end of all that ranting, Oliver still defends Hillary and agrees with Schultz in that none of this ever changed anything - that ultimately, super-delegates never determined the outcome of the nominee. The problem is, that while I agree super-delegates may have not directly determined the outcome of a nominee in the past, there is a possibility of it happening in the future - but even more importantly, super-delegates give an unfair advantage to a particular candidate by building momentum that influences voters. He did not betray my values. If you had worded it as: 'The Obama administration has already "betrayed my values" by ' I would not have responded. Obama has stated that turning our back on refugees through a suspension of the refugee program would be a 'betrayal of our values" - but his administration has already suspended refugee programs twice in the last 8 years. Just an observation - but has anyone noticed how boring it gets when we respond to eachother like normal human beings without all the antagonism? He says a lot, but I thought his proposal was to deport all illegals - the majority of which are probably christian. As for the proper vetting of immigrants/refugees - The Obama administration has already "betrayed our values" by suspending the refugee program twice in the last 8 years to improve the process and limit fraud - so I don't think there's much to worry about anymore - tho I'm sure there's always room for improvement. It's sad, as if sex trafficking isn't sick enough - that you have to spin this into a conservative christian issue and toss it up with some completely unrelated bullshit about guns in churches. It's a bit disturbing how people can take advantage of these stories about abused children and use them in order to score political points and attack groups of people that they hate. The story is about 32 individuals that were arrested for sex trafficking including a firefighter and an engineer, but it's the minister that gets all the attention with his picture plastered on the "front page" along with the headline. If it were a Muslim that was singled out like that, you people would be flipping the fuck out. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

So, I'm a drummer - I was always "jealous" of guitarists and vocalists because I just considered them more talented/cool/more attractive in general - but for some reason, chicks always seemed to be attracted to us idiot drummers. Then I saw this video of a chick drummer and it all finally made sense to me - she's hot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh_cSFFyk54 ...and she's so cool and seamless about it - When I play this song I'm pounding away in sweat and theatrics, but she makes it look so easy. Also, that's not a bad replacement, but I think many typical consumers can settle for 8mb RAM, integrated graphics and a 15" screen and wouldn't need/notice the difference - and with $300+ cash left in their pocket. I'd say try to fix the one he has, and when needed, upgrade when the technology is even better with faster ram and newer sockets for the same price - if not less. (not much longer) Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

I have one hell of a beast - an enthusiast "god box" if you will, but I've always found use for my older comps. Hell, I still have one running XP if I need to pump out some minor renders when other machines are busy. ...but ya - I do it for business - plus I'm a bit of a pack-rat when it comes to old computer parts. Also, I imagine windows 10 performing about the same on an older laptop as on a newer tablet - if not better (minus features not designed for the laptop, ofcourse) Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

Probably. The first time I heard "Cali" was back during my little wiglet years in the 80's listening to LL Cool J - Going Back To Cali. . . .but to the point of the thread, it bugs when I'm out in public or friends come to my house and ask, "do you mind?" "Do you mind if I sit here?" "Do you mind if I have a beer?" I'll say "ya, of course" - and then they proceed to sit down and/or drink my bloody beer every fucking time as if I said "no, absolutely not." ...but there's really no reason to throw away a perfectly good computer just because of some corrupted software. Most people that have given advice in this thread could probably have this laptop up and running within an hour, even if they had to replace the hard drive - which I doubt. It just pisses me off the amount of money people spend on tech service - or upgrades/replacements that the typical consumer doesn't need nor will ever use. Chances are that once he gets this laptop running, it'll qualify for a free windows 10 upgrade - which I would highly recommend if possible. IMO, the only reason to throw away a computer is because of a serious electrical/hardwre/motherboard issue. Sorry for your loss. I know ADHD can be rough on loved ones of those afflicted, especially if they're self-medicating with drugs/gambling. I don't know the specifics of your situation, so I'm not sure I can offer much insight into whether or not you're making the right decision. The product code should be on the little windows sticker on the bottom of your laptop if it didn't rub off yet, lol - Sometimes they'll also put it under the battery to prevent just that, so take out the battery and check there as well if you have to. If you can't find it, how about trying that f8 method that we discussed last week? You said f8 worked but you never followed up. What does the screen say when you hit f8 upon startup? What options does it give you? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

It's funny how the politicians have to be sooo careful about every word they say and how they say it. I mean, Obama is so thoughtful that practically every 5th word out of his mouth is "um" Pretty soon politicians will be speechless. . . Congratulations - you're the first American I've seen use that phrase correctly in a very long time. 10 winning points for you.

North Carolina Anti-anti-discrimination law

***The Old Testament makes reference to the sacrifice of children to demonic gods. We have now accepted that practice with the sophistication of medical science and the rational concept that an unborn child is not a human being. It's interesting that you'll often here about how our "religious" thoughts are outdated - that they are neolithic - that we have a neanderthal mindset or whatever - bronze aged beliefs, blah, blah, blah. ...but in this country today, they deliberately kill off their own offspring for the sake of sustaining one's own lifestyle. You'd think the self-righteous indignance of secular humanism would've put an end to, or at least publicly condemned this rather neolithic way of life rather than supporting it. . . As I said, in general, I don't mind religious people. I just ridicule those who claim to be religious, but whose hearts are filled with hatred. Oh, my apologies - I stopped reading and missed that part after your initial insult - pardon me - what must have I been thinking? Besides, you were the one that drifted this thread toward religion when you made unwarranted insults about my faith. . . Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
