  1. I think there's a lot of people out there with loaded dice that would like to take advantage of Bob - they could steal all his money before he even suspected anything was wrong. Perhaps Al is just street smart and has an instinct to know that something is up, and lives to see another day, while Bob looses his ass simply because he chose to limit his human experience to mere science and probability - but now it's too late. 2. It's doubtful that science could ever recognize God as God. For example, let's say that dark matter was the Spirit of God - an invisible omnipresent force - science couldn't recognize it as such. Even if those that choose to limit themselves to science saw God directly, it wouldn't fit into their limited construct and would first question their sanity before ever acknowledging God. I think a good example of this is the emerging idea among the scientific community that a general belief in God is an inherent human characteristic - but rather than use that as evidence to acknowledge the possible existence of God, they merely pass it off as an evolutionary benefit. 3. See, there you go again asking questions you already know. Ya, I already told you several times - take your own advice and do your own research. But let's say that I didn't know. Let's say that I only knew about the child pornography charges that carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, but was released in less then a year. Do you really believe - as you alluded to earlier - that my anger would not have been justified merely because I was unaware of any other charges? 4. Serious question for anybody who's ever said "praise God" when things go as desired: do you say "praise God" when things don't go as desired? On impulse, I may get angry and shake my fist - but it isn't very long before I start looking for a silver lining. I would say that the majority of qualities that define who I am have been gained through the challenges of life. Now tho I don't know how my life would've turned out had I not gone through them, I'd like to believe that I'm a better person because of them - them and a loving family that has been there for me through it all - and I can praise Him for that if I want to or not. 5. You were the one that claimed you didn't do any research - and others in this thread have already commented on how you were wrong. Just accept it and move on with your life. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

  7. Then why didn't you type that? I did several times latter on in the thread. My initial response was, "Oh, there's more to it than that. How about you tell me?" - which is basically saying the same thing. This is turning into one of those "take it outside, boys" threads. . . 8. My supposition was that you entered the thread and assumed I didn't have all the information, and therefore my anger wasn't justified - and you proved that in post #44 What information was I missing? Did you or were you even able to answer the question I asked? Come on - if you didn't WANT to answer the question, a simple "I dunno, look it up yourself" would have been warranted, donchathink? I think a simple "do your own research" was just fine given that's what you demand from everyone else. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  9. My supposition was that you entered the thread and assumed I didn't have all the information just to say that my anger wasn't justified - and you proved that in post #44 What information was I missing? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  10. What about Ron? If you accidentally left him out I suppose it's no big deal - but if it was deliberate, I'd say that's pretty shitty. . . Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  11. Jeeze Ron, happy to hear you guys are all right. Praise God! Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  12. Excuse me for resurrecting it. I thought the video was kind of interesting - so given the title, I did a search for "imaginary friend" and beowulf's post was the first one on the list. I suppose the yelawolf/beowulf thing enticed me to post the video. Also, I don't necessarily share the religious views of those guys in the video, but I know of a lot of shady characters that do - no pun intended. 13. Excuse me if I felt your question was a tad bit peculiar and didn't feel obliged to humor your indolence. To recap: I basically said how about you just tell us what you know about the situation. YOU were the one that assumed I didn't know the answer to your question and said that my anger wasn't justified because of that, which - let's face - was the reason you replied to me in the first place, otherwise you could've just asked anybody else in the thread that explicitly stated he physically abused children - which I did not. If you didn't know what was going on about the story as you claimed, then a normal person would've said "wow Corey, you seem really pissed off - wtf did Jared Fogle do?" ...but instead you ask whether he actually physically abused children, or just wanted to? Again, it's just an odd question coming from someone that claimed not to know anything about the situation - especially given that this is an older discussion in which you've participated in the past. It's like this - let's say you live next door to a detective and there was a murder - the details of which weren't released to the press yet. Let's say that he comes home and tells you that he's just really pissed off and disgusted about the gruesome murder of your friend Bill down the street, to which you reply, "wow, that's terrible, I had no idea - was his head still intact, or did it fall off yet?" It would lead him to believe that you know more about it than you are letting on. . . Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  14. All I know is that I was recognized as a registered voter - give me a ballot. I basically shared your sentiment, and they all said that they agreed, but "this is new - here, call this number" ...When I continually expressed that that wasn't acceptable - I was then escorted out by police. Just to be clear - I didn't have to tell them who I was voting for, just the party - and that's acceptable obviously. My problem was filling out all this personal info along with party preference on some mysterious card that they could not/would not explain in order for me to receive a ballot - I mean seriously, what's the problem - they already checked me off as legit on their voter list for that precinct? - Just give me a ballot of my choice and lets get on with it, wtf? 15. Ya, I learned that the hard way - after standing in line, they finally took my I.D and verified I was a registered Independent Voter - Then I waited in another line - finally, they told me I had to fill out a card with my all personal information and how I was voting in order to get a ballot. I said that I'm already registered and verified, can I just please have a ballot? "You have to fill out your personal info." No, you already know who I am - I'm regestered - you have my I.D "I know sir - it's something new - it's dumb, we agree." Ok, I know, so just give me a ballot and then let me vote. "Sorry sir, you need to fill out the card. . ." Eventually, blah, blah, blah - "we agree" - they said call this number and then the police escorted me out.. . . 17. It kinda concerns me that this anti-bulling commercial is played before this music video. ...but I know, the more important question is, why am I listening to Lana Del Rey - High by the Beach? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

  20. Sounds horrific. . . Growing up in Detroit, we often traveled across the border to Windsor - especially after our 19th B-day. We always knew that once on the border, we always lost certain "rights." We were subject to the will of Canadian Authorities. They often searched us at their will, and however personal they wanted to be about it - tho nothing as abhorrent as the woman in the article - but nonetheless, it was the Canadian authorities that we feared, not the U.S authorities - Hell, back 20 years ago you could cross the border back into the U.S at 3am with two dead Canadian hookers and a suitcase full of blow in the back of your trunk without thinking twice - now you need a passport to even leave this fucking shit-hole. Damn - how times have changed. . . Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  21. You were lucky - last time I saw two gay men in the bathroom was back out west in Long beach. It was my first day in California - and trust me, they made it quite obvious. (Well to be PC, I suppose they could've been bi-sexual, or maybe one was just a woman with a penis - wtf would I know about it, right?) Now I know it's a small sample size, but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that that shit probably happens quite often in that part of the country - can't remember ever coming across heterosexual fellatio in a public restroom - or any other kinda sexual behavior for that matter, but I guess that's just my anecdotal experience. . . 22. How about we call it, "Take it outside, boys" - that way some of us we can still watch. But seriously, threads like these that take child abuse and other sensitive topics and spin them into some type of disgusting anti-religious political attack typically always convalesce into more tasteful discourse as the preceding exchange in question. 24. Well technically, you did laugh when you read his comment - so perhaps your obsession with it could be satisfied by merely writing it off as hyperbolical humor? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  25. That's exactly why they exist. They prevent an outsider hijacking the party without supermajority support. Ya, those two posts pretty much sum up Oliver's segment, lol. . . So to sum it up: "Here's the problem, blah blah blah - it's really fucked up, ha ha ha. . .but there really isn't a problem, blah blah blah - and it's not really that fucked up - but if it pisses you off, send an email on groundhog day, ha ha ha."
