Well, I installed it, ran it, test it a little bit and NO PROBLEM!!!. As usual, you hear horror stories, but so far, my install went smoothly, all my programs run without a hitch, same thing accessing the net and all that. I see that SP2 detects a "third party" firewall, which is nice, since I disabled XP's firewall and pop-up blocker, etc and let my beloved Zone Alarm do its thing, no problems there. Games: I ran and played my Jedi Outcast, Painkiller and Doom 3, NO PROBLEM, but, I'll keep on testing. The only thing that I've noticed, is that on the XP splash screen, I don't see the word "Professional" anymore, as well as the "date of copyright" at the bottom left of the screen. I like it so far, my systems ALWAYS run smoothly, even my WinME systems. __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.

Wow, after reading this, I feel obligated to answer . Ok, this is my opinion: For personal home computers I like to keep things effective, functional and SIMPLE, a good setup would be 2 HD (the 2nd one for data storage and backup), the odds of 2 HD going bad at the same time are very very very slim, to give you an example, all my systems at home have 2 HD, and I do that I mentioned above, in my case, I don't care about "regular" backups since I use Ghost and have 2 copies of my system (a current and a previous in case something goes wrong), also, you could use other imaging software, I prefer imaging because it contains EVERYTHING, but if you like, you can only backup the data you need, the only drawback is that if your system fails OR you want to upgrade to a larger HD you'll have to start from scratch, if you had an image, just lay it on the new HD and you're done. I personally like IDE (ATA or SATA) nowadays HD are very fast, so why bother with SCSI. Of course, your system has to be equipped with a CDRW or a DVD writer, they are getting more affordable, and you can also burn your images (if you take that path) to DVD, so if BOTH HD die, you still have a copy SOMEWHERE ELSE, in other words, you have to have REDUNDANCY, it saves a lot of pain, trust me.
