Thanks Bill, I finally have something cool for my sig line! I'm glad the mindset that supported that kind of ruling has begun to melt away in our country, but it really has little to do with my take on the issue, which is that if gays want to be legally joined and have equal rights, then fine -- just call it something besides "marriage". I just wish people would try to change things through the system. I've seen examples cited here where breaking the law and civil unrest were justified, but I don't think this qualifies by any means. . . =(_8^(1)

I don't know if you noticed this, but the mayor did it on a special day called a "weekend", when courts and lawyers don't tend to work. See, it's got to do with this thing called a "5 day work week", which basically means that most white collar workers don't work on two special days, called "saturday", and "sunday". The court has said they will hear the case on a day called "tuesday", which comes after today, which is called "monday". "Monday" is the first day after the "weekend". To make matters a bit more complicated, "Monday" in this case is a special day called "holiday", where again people with white collars don't tend to work. In this case, the "holliday" in question is called "Presidents Day". I've played drums professionally off and on for many years, and I took up bass last year to help round me out musically and maybe improve my drumming. My objection here is very simple, so please give it a listen. 1. I brought up NAMBLA kind of randomly, as an example of how an organization doesn't necessarily represent the political party it supports. I could have picked NOW or any of a number of other extreme leftist groups. I brought it up simply to illustrate my point that the KKK isn't representitve of the right. 2. Having done that, I've since been directly accused of having a "fascination" with NAMBLA a couple of times, and that I have the persona of the retired next door neighbor in American Beauty. My IDEAS haven't been attacked here, I have. Personally. If that kind of "pissing off" talk is allowed here, then so be it, but it doesn't smell too good -- and I'll bet you wouldn't take kindly toward that kind of talk being directed toward you. But whatever. I truly do enjoy the many posters here that communicate with integrity, typing in the same tones they would speak in person. Get a clue, disease can and does spread from animals to humans ALL of the time. It does not necessarily follow that it occured by sexual transmission.
