  1. Umm...I ain't ever gonna date you Kevin so forget it. ....and don't call me Shirley.
  2. Ok. so it's not exact but when I first saw it that was the thing that came to mind. 2001: A Space Odyssey. Just looking at his avatar I can hear that high pitched, eerie music playing in the background. Stop staring at me Viking!.....I'm telling you! Tell your Avatar to stop talking to me! [breathe]....ok.....I'm ok....just gotta breathe.
  3. Check out Vikings new avatar. Man, like it's right from the movie.
  4. Nah, it's not the shoes. It's that the graviational constant has suddenly increased in their specific location. Right Billvon? edit: You know, I wrote that without reading all the posts. Too funny!
  5. Exactly how I feel. I had to downsize from a Tempo 150 to a PD126R when I got my new Micron since they said a Stilleto 107 would not go in any container bigger. I do feel that I am capable of landing a 126R just fine. But when things go bad I like for them to slow down. The slower the better. It was a choice I had to make because I wanted a new container and wanted to put a particular main in it. My old Reflex was sized seperately for my reserve and my main. It was built to suit. That's part of why I bought a Reflex in the first place. I hope that some of the gear manufacturers could comment on this thread and maybe explain about main/reserve rig sizing and manufacturing. 6. While I know Roger impacted our sport a lot I don't know if he can claim throw outs for students totally. I know that he did take AFP level 1 students out with throw outs and that caused quite a stir. But when I went through IAD in KC I was taught on a throw out after 3 dummy handle throws. I'm not sure on the heritage of the IAD program and what year it started but I know people were taught with throwouts well before Roger transitioned his rigs. What Roger did do was come up with the breakaway pouch that could be pulled from the left hand side releasing the PC. And I think that aspect is what brought throwout PCs for students into a wider acceptance. Just a tidbit (tm). Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  7. I got nothing. I feel so left out. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  8. Just wait until we have "swooper only" DZs. Or "Birdman only" DZs. It's the same as what gear people pick. One DZ will love Javelins while other love Vector and still others swear by Racer. It's all the same. Birds of a feather flock together. (that was not a plug for birdman. had that been an actual plug for birdman I would have included the whisper "hey, first hits free") Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  9. congratulation on the record ! sorry to bring it up, but just for curiosity sake - doesn't cypress fire disqualify the record ? or was it on attempts ? stan. I believe that's FAI world records only. State records are just something that's kept internally at USPA I guess. Don't think it would disqualify but yah, wouldn't want it to happen on the record itself. You want those nice and clean. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  10. It's the death of skydiving as we know it now. But then, it's always been that way. Skydiving has developed and changed over the years. You just have to look back and see it. Now, I will have to say that the sport is evolving more rapidly now than it has in the past. More people, more ideas, better technology, lighter/smaller video cameras have all played into the change. But I have to agree, freefly skills DO NOT automaticly translate into coaching/AFF ability. My first 200 jumps or more were Freefly and CRW. I don't believe I could have made my freefly skills work for me as an AFF JM. Why? Because as an IAD JM I had to follow people out to observe their long delay jumps. I've seen it and know that it does not translate over. Belly flying (especially student training and coaching) must be learned and practiced just like any other discipline. I agree that people should not have to choose one discipline over the other. But I do believe that when it comes to coaching you do have to have a background of belly jumps. How are you going to coach 4 way launches in a flat fly if you have never done it? Right now there is a group of freeflyers at SDC that toy with the flat flying stuff now and again. They have asked me and others for coaching on launching and flying in their dirt dives. I would say that most of them are fairly good at freeflying but watching their videos of belly flying they have a lot to learn. I certainly wouldn't want them to have a coach rating right now. But it is good to see them working on their skills. They will be well rounded jumpers if they keep it up. Keep learning. Their is a difference. 12. Dude! You haven't gone to a doctor already? And you went to make more jumps? [biting lip] Ok....go to the doctor now and get examined. Have x-rays. You could have a concusion. Whiplash injuries usually don't show up for a couple days possibly. You need to get checked out by a professional. Please go. Hope you feel better. Man....got dizzy and then made another jump that day? Not exactly what I would have done my friend. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  13. I love my Micron. I don't have direct dealings with Infinity so I can't comment much on them. RWS = Good customer support. RWS = Leader in gear technology and R&D Micron = Very secure rig for all types of flying. Micron = Comfortable harness even without Rings I used to not like the Vector 3 because I thought it had too many flaps and took longer to close. Actually, my opinion has changed and I see how secure the rig is in freefall. I like the way the flaps close especially over the risers. Now, some people complained that the side flaps wrinkled and didn't look good. Well, if you don't close it correctly (pushing the side flaps down and secure takes 2 seconds) you will get the puckering. So, I learned not to hold that against the rig. It is an owner/packer problem. I got the Skyhook installed because I think it is a good idea. I can't get that on any other container. 800 jumps. 8 years in the sport. Pilot. 14. Lewmonst has the coolest scars of any skychick. Fo sho Yah, and drink lots of milk. Stay away from the caffeine and let the body heal. Sleep lots and make people get you things. Hey, everyone is talking about taking a vacation from their vacation at Rantoul. But I think you deserve it the most!
  15. whuffo you jump out of dem dar aeroplanes?
  16. Radiation? There was no radiation leak! Everything was contained. And the workers who were around the plant have all retired. Free to persue lives of religious fulfilmant. Now, it is true that one crewmember became slightly ill. But there is nothing to worry about. Go home. Breath in deep. It'll all be over soon.
  17. You Kansas boys get us all worried and stuff.
  18. But it wasn't due to TERRORISM! I repeat....not due to TERRORISM!!!......So just calm down! Man....those news people were about useless with all that. Like yah, we heard you the first time.
  19. Serious? Accessing.......is there any other emotion?
  20. Maybe not the best way to describe a boogie? Hmmmm?
  21. I think France should put more effort into helping their citizens deal with the heat wave instead of letting them die in their homes. How many have died in France due to the heat? 3,000? How many died on that plane? Keep it in perspective France. Your people need you to focus on the real problems. Chris
  22. IT IS NOT CAUSED BY TERRORISM!! I REPEAT......IT IS NOT CAUSE BY TERRORISM SO JUST CALM DOWN! Was that annoying enough?
