    Rosa, I extend to you an offer of visiting Skydive Chicago if you ever come out this way. It's a big DZ too and I do some organizing for low time to intermediate skydivers.     I'm not yelling at you. I'm emphasising things to you. You are saying that Perris is not as friendly as other DZs. Well, I've visited Perris myself and it was as friendly as any other DZ I've been to. My point is that your experience is what you make it. I wouldn't wait for anyone to come around chasing you down to make sure you are having a good time. If you're shy, fine. But I don't think it's fair to blame the DZ for your interaction then.     Big DZ / Little DZ is a debate that will last longer than RSLs and AADs. I say, your skydiving experience is what YOU make of it. YOU have to be responsible for your own fun. And maybe it means that YOU will have to go up to someone, introduce yourself, and ask what's going on in the way of jumps YOU want to do. This technique has worked for me at many, many DZs that I've visited from the Atlantic side to the Pacific side. I know, this is completely off topic from Perris raising their jump prices but come on people. Skydiving attracts A type personalities. You've accepted the challenge of jumping from an airplane but now you are scared to walk up to a stranger and talk to them? That seems a just bit weird to me. I also like hearing with a little disbelief "You're Diver Driver?" I guess some poeple's mental image of who I am was a bit different. I also got to jump with the HH and Betsy and Skydekker, and Indyz, and SkymonkeyOne (one majorly cool Birdman jump - ok it was my first) and DJan, and Flyangel, and eeneR, and others that I'm sorry I'm forgetting your names.     Yah, it was sweet. Got there at 9:30 am and did 4 jumps by 4:30 PM. Did three 25+ ways. They went ok. Did a really nice 4 way with some other visitors organized by Sandy Grillet at SDC.     Nope. I just remember the story of Mark and him ferrying the 182s north around some thunderstorms. Mark asked where Steiner was and the response he got was [norwegian accent]"20 thousand......I'm trying to remember the symptoms of hypoxia." I've been told that someone fitting my description has made some low approaches yet all the video evidence has mysteriously vanished. Weird......

    Supply and demand. There is greater demand on the weekend. They can charge more. Seems they raised their weekend rate and there weekday rate. If they had just raised the weekend rate then you might be more pissed about that. Rising jumprates suck but it's reality of our sport. Many forces go into play about cost for running aircraft. Typically, most DZs run a very tight margin on slots for experienced jumpers. I really wouldn't be surprised if jumps go to 25 bucks a load for turbine planes to 13k. If I knew a DZ was upping the training requirements and demanding more experience before flying jumpers I would imagine they'd need to raise rates. Also, the cost of maintenance can increase too.
