And this is supposed to gain support and sympathy for their cause? Never fucking will. It will only continue to bring missery and death to all. Cowards.
-
Yah, but if it's suck ass you might not have the money to go jumping. You'd have to whore yourself out at the DZ or sumpin. --Oh wait...you already know how to do that. Nevermind

True story. Two guys (part owners) of an Aerotstar (small piston twin 6 seat) are at their plane. One is a mechanic and the other the pilot. The pilot outside the plane yells forward to the mechanic and calls for him to retract the flaps after ground isnpection. The mechanic then selects power on, hydraulic pressure comes up and he graps the landing gear handle. The nose gear retracts and crushes the gear doors. No actually they aren't. They have an over center position that is supposed to keep them in position. But, take the hydraulic pressure off of the gear and it -can- collapse. The squat switch is supposed to prevent that from happening but it can fail also. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Gotta grit it out with the headaches Lisa. I had them bad just like anyone else. But now that I don't drink caffeine except maybe once every few days I feel so much better and don't get withdrawl headaches. But you gotta go clean for awhile to adjust. Drink water, and get into doing runs if you can or walks at least. Make them a daily thing and don't put it off. And when your body stops trying to hord water cuz of the caffeine you may even lose weight. Some people have experienced this after getting off the caffeine.
-
Try cutting ALL caffeine and alchohol. Then do that for a month and report back. It's gonna take time to adjust Lisa. Oh yah, and I'm not a doctor or anything. Just seems logical.

I agree. Most passengers should not be packing. There are exceptions such as law enforcement and FAMs. Well, an unarmed crew got sliced up by box cutters and the plane was taken over. Time to turn the tables. I worry more about charter jets and corporate stuff now. There is no protection on those planes really. And they could do a lot of damage still.

What was the name of the first pressurized plane, the one with the square windows, that basically did that due to stress points around the edges of the windows? British Comet. They took a fuselage in a water tank and pressurized it over and over until it wouldn't any more. They drained the tank and then saw where the damage was. Yah, square windows...not a good thing.
-
Uh Canuck...don't believe everything you see in the movies. It's not totally like a balloon. We already have two very large holes in the back of the plane called outflow valves that regulate pressure inside the plane. They open and close accordingly. Put one quarter sized whole in the side of the plane and the valves will close to adjust. You will get a lot of whistling but that's about it. Oh, and your ears may be ringing from the discharging handgun. But that's about it. No wiley coyote *pop* and the plane comes apart.

What is your average opening altitude?
diverdriver replied to elfanie's topic in Safety and Training
2600-3000. I try to plan pull time so that I know my canopy will normally be fully open by 2K. If anything goes wrong I know mentally where I'm starting out. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
"Ooooo! Can I play too guys?" "Bill, you go long."

Well, they don't have to carry jacketed rounds. They could have Glazer's (sp?) silver tips. Will go through people but won't through most other hardened objects like cockpit windows. That damn window is rated to take a goose at 250 knots. I think it has a chance of not shattering at least. My be a loud whistle but won't just blow out.
-
LOL....ok then. Man, I thought we were going down the road to saying pilots shouldn't carry either. Was gonna have to get really upitty.
-
LOL...I see Bill got on the donor list twice! LOL...what a whore. And what a great guy who gives tirelessly of his own time to give back. Tequilla Bill and Bill Homer. Too funny.

Ahhhh...tables turned! How much is it worth to YOU to not have the photos surface?
-
Say what? Passengers carrying and pilots carrying are two SEPERATE issues. How can you say they are even related? edit: wow got so flustered I couldn't spell "two".
-
LOL! So is there a final tally on how much was raised for them and is there anything they still really need?
