  1. Gotta keep 'em guessing. I wouldn't want to be one dimensional or anything. LOL....
  2. DUDE!! You told me those were just "fun" private pictures.
  3. SEEEE!! This is the pressure I've been under. The power of the 'net is frightening! How can I resist that.
  4. Thanks homezzz. translated to Canadian: Beauty eh?
  5. LOL...no..no showing off. But there could be a private showing. Wendy? Got that hot sauce ready?
  6. Come on man..... They don't know that. They just might get into a bidding war. Think GEAR man!
  7. Oh do you now? You "all that" and a bag of chips?
  8. Hmmmmm...do I hear an auction coming on?
  9. Oh agreed J.E. Sorry ladies. No public undy shots. My skinny white ass don't need to be flaunting anything.
  10. Ok...I can't take the pressure anymore. You women have made me give in! I submit! I have changed my undergarment selection to the "boxer brief". I am still evaluating their comfort and utility. This has just been weighing on my mind ever since the "Tighty Whities" thread. I do admit...they do seem comfortable so far and let other things "breathe" a bit more. Hmmmm.... Will have to get second opinion on "look" though. And I know soooo many of you were so concerned about my well being I just had to post. LOL!!! You can now return to your regulalry scheduled political/terrorist/gun/religion debates.
  11. EH HEM!!!! This does not just mean male paedophiliacs.
  12. Now, I know mains and reserves are two different animals but let me relay a story here that happened to me. I wanted to demo a Velocity 84. It had been packed for over 2 years. I needed to attach it to my rig and put my D-bag on it as it was a pull out system and my system is a throw out. I went into the loft and pulled it out. It was a brick like a Foldgers vacuum seal coffee bag. It literally kept its shape when I pulled it out of the first D-bag. The rigger there and I stared at if for a second and I said "I'll pull extra high." He knodded knowingly and my curiousity was peaked. I planned a deployment at 5k. I threw out at 5k and I had a canopy lock. Not a bag lock. A canopy lock. It came out in that brick like state and sat there. I reached up to shake the risers and it finally started to peel and spread. This was a full terminal deployment that took about 1,500 feet. We feel that the canopy stayed in brick form like that because it had only maybe 10 jumps total on it and the new Z-perosity fabric had stuck to itself. Had this been an older/broken in Z-P canopy packed that long it would not have stuck the way it did. I think my reserve going for 180 days between repacks unless, as stated well by Bill Von, there are extenuating circumstances like getting wet or having dirt pounded into the rig would be an acceptable repack cycle. But in no way do I want my reserve sitting for 2 years between INSPECTIONS if I'm jumping it. There is too much "what if" at that point. We've all heard the "gear in trunk of car" stories. I heard one where the coating on the cutaway handle cables melted into the cable housing and "locked" them from use. The guy actually did fix his main deployment issue before impact but was freaked that he couldn't cut away. They were able to force the cable out afterwards with only extreme force. From my understanding the guy threw the rig in the trunk of his car once again and quit the sport on the spot. Not sure how accurate that is but you get the point. 13. songs: Blitzkreig Bop, I Wanna Be Sedated, Gina is a punk rock girl are their most well know. Just by their best off album and you get some pretty good stuff.
  14. You're right! You should now show us all pictures of yourself with a much tighter shirt on.
  15. Well, how does it feel to have effected some change in the sport for the better? Feels good doesn't it?
  16. So all the crud they were giving you about being out sick didn't stop you from getting tenure. That's great! Glad it worked out.
  17. And it's a true story. Again, prevent, prevent, prevent. Make sure your bridle is routed correctly. Make sure the tension on your closing loop is not TOO tight but tight enough to be safe. And make sure your PC kill-line has not shrunk over the jumps you have done. This can decrease the effectiveness of the PC creating drag to pull the pin.
  18. Well let us know if you hear when. Shameless bump.
  19. Anyone that believes the 45 degree rule works should come out to SDC for the Spring Expo and hear John talk. It is a real eye opener and is all based in fact. John, do you know what time your seminars are? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  20. Dude, I know what you mean. I partied with Randy at Halloween at SDC and then that following week he hung himself. We were having such a good time and kidding around. He dressed like a pirate. He knew more about fixing planes than most mechanics I know. I guess we never truly know what's going on inside another persons head. Even if we think we know them well.
  21. Uhh...do you really want me to suggest you find a new sport or do you want to say you were just kidding?
  22. Remember you have a PC in tow. If you cutaway your risers can flop around on your back but won't leave your rig since the main is still enclosed in the main tray. Once the reserve is deployed and the PC in tow was due to high forces on the closing loop then it could deploy the main. Once the reserve is out doesn't it stand you up? What is your general direction of flight during deployment? Straight down still. So, if the main leaves is it going to go away from you behind? No. It is going to go straight up and those flopping risers can snag ANYTHING they want to. In this case they got the slider as it came down. The drag of the main weighing on the reserve caused it to slide back up the lines. A slider going back up the lines will collapse your canopy. In my example (true case) the main then deposited itself on top of the reserve and the whole mess started spinning. It would accelerate and then plane out. He impacted the dirt right before it really started to accelerate again. Major busted bones but he lived. Thank God. He jumps again, but had he hit on the full downswing he'd be dead. Pure and simple. But, with two canopies out and inflated I can fly and land a bi-plane. I can fly and land a side-by-side. And if it goes down-plane then I know I have a good chance of seperating cleanly during the cutaway. But it is all in stages. And sometimes, putting more shit over your head is a good thing rather than cutting away. But that's a whole nuther thread. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
