Possible Saddam-Al Qaeda Link Seen in U.N. Oil-for-Food Program
diverdriver replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
You know, I'm actually open minded I think and I try to watch both CNN and FOX. But on something that could actually swing this voters opinion on terrorist connections to SH they failed miserably but they sure kept my attention during their show by repeating "coming up... the Al-Qaeda connection". That, to me, seems like there would be a connection. But, in the end.... they had none. That just makes me feel used and manipulated to keep my attention. Grrrrrrrrr..... -
Possible Saddam-Al Qaeda Link Seen in U.N. Oil-for-Food Program
diverdriver replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
I watched Fox News report on this Oil-for-Food. I was glad to see the fingers being pointed and connections being made with Saddam Husein. He lined his pockets and people knew about it and did nothing. What left me really cold (and I was hoping for more from Fox) was the hook they kept using during each commercial break. They kept saying (paraphrasing) "Up next, the connection with Al-Qaeda". I thought "great! Now I will see the "fair and balanced" news from Fox." Man, wtf happened when all they said was "We can't prove it but it sure is a possibility." What the fuck! People swear by FOX and how honest they are. People lambast CNN for using insinuation in stories but never really claim a falsehood. Now FOX sank to the same level and in my opinion is just as worthless as the rest of the news. "Fair and balanced" Yah, fair play to use the same BS tactics in reporting to get their agenda across. Balanced in that they are no better than the people they say they are holier than thou. Chris -
Well, we can now put that to rest and move on.

I just have to say Nice Post Nick. -
But after it goes through the burner I guess you could say your goose is cooked? Bah dum bum.

You're ALWAYS expecting problems on takeoff if you are a good pilot. And it says right on ATIS "caution for numerous birds in the vicinity". Like no duh. Birds? Flying in the air? The sh*t you say! Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Happy Birthday....... you lil brat!

Dang, that's sad but that also "is life". RIP. I recently saw a group on David Letterman that reminded me (not exactly) of The Ramones. They're out of Brooklyn, NY and are called The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. The lead singer has a "Ramonesque" hair cut.

Ok, I'm late to the party but happy birthday Chuck! I still remember the one birdman jump I did with you as a very HIGH highlight of my jumping career. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Wendybird and I are getting married Saturday
diverdriver replied to diverdriver's topic in The Bonfire
He he... I told Wendy we needed to get her on my benefits now and she reminded me about how much she hates to fly! LOL! Ummm... hun? That's how we get to altitude? But she really does hate to fly commercial. She told me I now have "driving benefits". Uh... sure. It was a GREAT wedding and we had a good time. I will post some pics when they become available. Just know that I'm thankful to God for this wonderful woman whom I love so much. I married my best friend. And she jumps too!!! Woooowhooooo!!! Wow who would have guessed Quincy would become a DZ Dead Zone.

It's 140 miles to Skydive Chicago from South Bend, IN (where I now live). But I have to go through F'n Gary, IN to get there and that is about 4 interstates funneled down to 3 F'N lanes! It's all under construction to expand but right now it's a pain in the ASS to get there. But, it's worth it. So, if you want fun, take the drive up to SDC and stay the weekend. We do. Uh.... thanks.... got any sutures for that mouth? -
The IO-550 is used on plenty of other aircraft and they make it to TBO. You have to look at how it was run too. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

It's a good thing I don't need outside influences to boost my ego. -
Not a bad run Bill. Good luck to you and everything you do. Sorry to see that the desision to leave is due to an injury but at least you have the choice to make. I know that jumpers such as yourself have had an influence well beyond what you may realize. Your presence is interwoven into everything that we are now and I thank you for your contribution. Just wanted to send out an invite to party with us on Saturday at SDC around 8pm! We'll have a couple of kegs, cash bar and Eric will be DJing for us with a whole progression of music from 70s disco, 80s new wave to 90s alternative and ending with some tasty techno! Come have fun and enjoy the celebration while we start our life long commitment to each other September 4th. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -

"Folder of Shame"..... Bwahahahahhahahahahhah!!!!! Now I know I can't run for President. If I ever did there would be the Remster at a news conference going "Oh yah! Remember this!!!!" while he holds up a glossy 8x10 of that pic. But hey, laughter is the greastest gift you can give the world. You're welcome.

I met Moby once in Lawrence, KS at The Grenada. My friend (DJ Velasquez) brought him in for a Holloween show. It was fantastic. I had named my dog after him and he thought it was the coolest thing. It actually wasn't until then that I learned how much into animal rights he was. That was kind of trippy. My old favorites are "1000" and "Go". Course, I'm old school and all. I remember techno when it was called Acid House and New Beat. DJ Topher.

General "Don't let your guard down" Safety Bitch Thread

I'm not capitulating. I'm coalition building! -
I would also be careful of carbon monoxide poisoning. You might want to get a detector and put it in the plane just in case you have some sort of leak. Being sleepy on the way to doing something very dangerous is NOT a good combination. It can be a combination of also sitting position in the plane where you are not breathing deeply and thus not getting oxygen like you should. You could be excited (fight or flight) too soon and using up the oxygen you have in your blood. You could be a smoker and thus being at altitude longer the effects of thinner air will hit you more than a fast climbing jump plane. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

We also need to compare it to the Caravan really (single engine vs. single engine). The tail was ripped off a Caravan in Australia with a premature. That would be the plane I'd take a close look at construction comparison on for the PAC 750. All in all, I think this plane will do ok in the US. If DZOs can get financing for it they will buy it. One engine is more "efficient" than a twin engine. Fixed gear, big door... it can still do good in the US. I have heart burn over the position of the tail but hey, we jump Caravans, King Airs, C-206s still so what's the dif? It will all come down to the "cool" factor in my mind. Will they be able to jazz a 750 up with a bigger engine or something and then it will be "cool" and thus popular. As for now, I think many DZOs should take a serious look at the 750.
