It is a very pretty name. But, nothing wrong with her prefering to be called something else. My parents had a hard time calling me Jess at first because they choose Jessica not Jess as my name. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

I don't think that this makes you a bad parent at all. My name is Jessica, and when I was young my mom made it a point that no one should call me "Jessie" for a nickname. But, as I got a little older most of my friends starting to call me Jess. I actually prefer Jess to Jessica now. It was not until just a few years ago that my parents began to call me Jess. Oh - so you finally told someone what it meant? I'll have to give that boy a call and ask him. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

Stan - does Astera mean anything? "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

I'm not sure that I would actually change anything. Everything I did (or didn't do) makes me who I am now. But, if I had to look back and change a few things I would not have spent 5-yrs with my ex and I would have taken more chances. If I had done these things I would not have missed out on some experiences that I let pass me by. Ian - sorry for you and Katie's loss. My thoughts are with the both of you, and the rest of the family. My sincerest condolences. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

Yeah - I'm thinking the Pats are going to win this one. I'm online now looking for flight prices to go and tailgate the game. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

Mine was a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis. It so huge. It was like driving my sofa down the road. It was my grandfather's old car that he had given me. I remember going with my grandparents the day they bought it too - I was so small that my legs stuck straight out when I sat on the back seat. Yes - it was not too bad actually. It was so much fun and well worthe money for the ticket and standing in the cold from 10am until 8pm. I had never been to a playoff game before. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

I'm thinking that the Pats are going to win. I was at the game last night and it was an awesome time!! GO PATS!!! "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

I got my first tattoo last year. I love it. The tattoo artist did a really good job. I would love to get one across my lower back or on my foot. Have not decided yet. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

Thanks everyone for sharing your stories. I tried to tell her to get a different job. But, while she is looking she can't just quit this one. They pay her fairly decent for a gas station. It's actually a Shell gas station and from what she says their policy on following up on the incidents is good. My younger sister works nights at a gas station in town. She needs this job to help pay her bills. But, last night her store was robbed. It was not an armed robbery or anything. The robber just reached over the counter and grabbed the money from the register and ran out of the store. My sister was very shaken up by this. As she was leaving for work tonight she was visibly frightened to go. I tried to console her, but having not been in this type of situation I really did not know what to say. So, I would appreciate any words of advise that I could pass on to her from amyone has been in a similar situation. Thanks!

Funny you say that. That's one of the things that really freaked me out on what was to be my level 4 jump. I never saw others leaving the plane that close to me before (I was usually pretty far from the door). Just seeing them "disappear" so quickly freaked me out, but, was way cool at the same time. Oh - I know that being scared/nervous is totally normal. I do need to get back in the air soon and finish AFF because I do love it. Back to the question about tandems the few people who I know who have only done a tandem either loved it or hated it. Like I said, I did not even enjoy the feeling at all until my 2nd and 3rd tandems. If I had not been curious about trying it again I never would have gone again. HAHA - I felt the exact same way for my first 3 levels of AFF. More so when I was to do my level 4 jump. I was so nervous - I ended up riding the plane down on that one and I have not jumped since. I went up there one time after that and just couldn't bring myself to do it. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

I think it varies from person to person. The only reason I even did my first tandem was because my Dad wanted someone to go with - he basically talked me into it. He loved every minute of it. I actually was far too scared on that first jump to even enjoy anything except the soft landing. If I had to base my opinion of skydiving on my first experience (had I never gone again after that) I would have said I hated it. But, I went back for 2 more tandems and loved every minute of it. I loved the feeling I had on my 3 AFF levels too. But, due to nerves and lack of money I have not been able to jump since April. I grew up in Foxboro too about 2 miles from the stadium. This has just been an awesome season for them. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

ARGH! I love the Pats. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

Yeah that was a good game too. But, as a Pats fan - I would have to say that they rocked (maybe just because they won). I would just love to see them in the Superbowl again this year. They have had a very interesting, kick ass season. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

Just got home from watching the game. The Pat's rocked tonight! I'm hoping they win it all again this year. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

So far, I've convinced 2 people to do tandems. One was a co-worker and one was the niece of an ex-boyfriend. They both loved it but have yet to return for more. There are a few of my friends who would try it as well if they could afford it. Now...if I could just convince myself to finish my AFF training I would be all set. Give me a break...I'm geographically challenged. Seriously - I hope everything turns out okay. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

The Pats winning the Superbowl. Hoepfully they can do it again this year. GO PATS!!!!!! "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

Chute - I am so sorry for your loss. My sympathy goes out to you and her family. Michele - again thank you for trying to express in words what so many of us can not even begin to understand, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."
