  1. Yeah, then I would have to read... Who wants to do that...
  2. In the June issue of Parachutist (I just got mine today), there is a picture that made me do a double look (Page 50). Can someone plese comment and explain this? Did this guy do this for a reason, or did he just fall out of his rig trying to swoop? I hope it didn't hurt too much.
  3. Of course... www.veard.net
  4. Not sure if the DZ who owns the pro tec would like that
  5. Ok, I ordered my Pro Track and I just got it in. What a cool toy. The problem is I was hoping that my new Mindwarp would also be in, but it isn't. I am still going to jump this weekend and I want to know the best way to use my new pro track. I have my own goggles with a thick strap on them. I might be able to attach to that? I will be wearing a pro teck helmet over my googles? Or should I do the safer thing and just put the pro Track in a pocket so It can record the jump, but not make use of the audible? Or should I do the safest thing and just leave it on the ground until I get my Mindwarp in and jump with it next time?
  6. I really agree... I did my first 7 jumps in 2 weekends (5 the first weekend and 2 the next). It really helps you get the hang of it quicker. I have noticed that as of late, I am jumping a little less and my progression has slowed. I hope to step up the jump numbers starting this weekend.
  7. I know how you feel. I suddenly lost my job at the end of Feb and took me two months to find another one. Hang in there and you will find something better than the last one. Things have a way of working out like that.
  8. Thanks you all for your advice. I pretty much knew what I wanted, but wanted to hear from you to be sure. I placed my order for a Pro-Track today, and I should jump with it this weekend!
  9. Now that my new Helemt is almost in, I have a little pocket to put one of those beepy things in. I want an Audible with the free fall computer and log book functions. I am a geek and I like to look back at the numbers. I really am leaning towards a pro-track because it seems to get the best reviews, but it is also the most $$$. I've seen teh Skytronic, looks pretty close the the Pro-Track, but the Pro Track still seems better. I have been seeing the new Neptunes. Now this doesn't appear to be an Audbile, but it does have some neat features, like an IR port so I can download to my Laptop with out buying an expensive software / hardware kit (i.e. Jump Track). But I don't think that is cool enough to loose the Audible aspect of it. So please help me out with the following questions: 1) What one is the best, and why? 2) Where can I get a good price? Thanks, Ken
  10. I must be a total nut, because I did AFF first, and loved it. Then again, I've known for a long time that I wanted to skydive, and I knew I would be in it for the long haul. I waited till I could afford the entire AFF course, and I went... Unless you are that sure of it, I would do the Tandem first to make sure. Once you are sure save up for AFF. I really like AFF over SL. I feel I am a better sky diver for it.
  11. I did a scan for you of my card, both sides. Hope it helps http://www.veard.net/cypresscard.jpg

    Good deal?

With all those extras too?? Great deal... Just have your rigger check it before the deal is complete...
  14. The URL that you clicked was URL Encoded to make it look alright. Once deCoded (what the browser sees) is: http://www.paypal.com/@211.75.58.108/pp/update.htm Edit: (Please, no one make this a Clicky thing. IT SHOULD NOT be clicked on) As you can see, it hides the fact that you are actually going to an IP address and not PayPal. I bet if you look at the email you will see that it wasn't sent from PayPals Servers. This is 100% a SCAM! Don't give them your info. (I know the person who first posted this message didn't, but no one else do it) Ken
  15. What you really don't have to say anything? Cool, I just need a few more to get my 50!!!
  16. Well all... The delima is over... I made a counter offer to the guy and basically said, I take a little less salary, but I ain't moving to Detroit. He thought about it and called me an hour later and did the deal. So I now have a job were I get to work from home, get paid, and get to travel from time to time. I will be traveling between Austin, Detroit and LA. I bet I can find some good drop zones around there. Thank you all for you advice, I felt bad telling him I won't move, and I thought it was going to cost me the job, but it didn't! Blue Skys all!
  17. I jump a Spectre 170 and am a little heavier than you. I love the Spectre. I've jumped a Sabre2 210 before. I felt the Sabre2 was also a fun one. So... Demo them both and I don't think you can go wrong...
  18. Come to Austin, I grew up there and am back living here... For now at least... 2 great DZs to choose from!
  19. Yeah I really am a warm weather boy. I've lived in Austin, TX and Florida for all my life... I am going to try and work a deal to work from home and only have to Visit Detroit once a month or so... Wish me luck!
  20. I lost my job at the end of Feb this year. I have been doing enough contract jobs to stay a float. Well, I was just offered a job yesterday that I really want to take, but it might require me to move from Austin, TX to Detroit, MI. I really don't want to move. Although the job is perfect, the pay will be on par, there isn't a relocation budget. I own a house in Austin, and if I were to sell it, I would take a loss on it, since I just bought it less than 2 years ago. Plus if the job thing doesn't work out, there are even less oppertunities in Detroit for Web Developers than there are in Austin, TX. I am going to try and work for him from Austin, but would you move if you were me?
  21. Well I think I just figured it out too... We will see... If I win a Spectre, then we all will know...
  22. It is kind of funny... I always wanted to do it, but never did anything about it. One day I was searching the internet looking for a place to Camp. I typed in Camping in Austin, and a local Dropzone came up (because they allow camping on the DZ). I looked at the website for about 5 minutes, picked up the phone and schedule my entire AFF course. That was last Oct, and many thousands of dollars later, I am so happy I typed in Camping!
  23. I like cats just fine... They taste like chicken!
