  1. I dunno about that Chuck. The Flyers are a much tougher matchup than the Bruins imo. They are a better team than their regular season showed and had to come a long way back to make the playoffs. And, they have all the confidence in the world right now. I hope this was Montreal's bad game and I don't have a problem with Halak getting some rest...lord knows he needs a break from the intensity. That being said, there's nothing I'd like more than the Habs taking them out but I think they are a tougher team for them to beat than either Pittsburgh or Washington. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  2. Halak has been the goaltending star of the playoffs thus far but I think Leighton from Philly deserves credit for stepping in for the last two games after Boucher got hurt and playing pretty well. We'll see if Halak can continue and carry the Habs to the Finals. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  3. You have to tip your hat to the Flyers. It would have been easy to lay down after giving up a three goal lead but they kept on battling. But, how ironic is it that the Bruins downfall was partly the result of a too-many-men penalty? It sunk them in 1979 against the Habs as well. I think the Habs would have a better chance against the Bruins but they have been giant killers so far this year so I'm hoping they can keep the magic happening. Right now it looks like there are two teams of destiny in these playoffs and they are going to go head to head. Go Habs!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  4. Flyers Bruins tied at 3 after 2. Flyers coming back from a 3-0 score. It's been all Flyers for bout 25-30 minutes. Bruins better get it together! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  5. Tonight was an example of why I used to think MAF wasn't a good enough goalie to win a Cup. Letting in a couple of soft ones kills a team versus Halak picking his guys up at every opportunity. That one sequence where he stopped Malkin's shot and flashed the left pad on Crosby's shot of the rebound was just huge....and kind of summed up the series. Crosby/Malkin combined for 3 goals and 5 assists I think. Not enough production from the stars. Once again...good job of planning by Montreal and great execution of the plan. When it was 4-0 I was nervous. A big lead can sometimes get you off your game. When the Pens got 2 by the end of the second I was very worried but Halak saved them in the third and the too many men penalty and resulting goal by the Habs pretty much ended the Pens chances for a comeback. Now, what's up with Boston? They are about to join the ranks of the ultimate playoff chokers. I haven't seen much of those games but it looks to me like the Flyers want it way more than the Bruins. I really want a Montreal/Boston series so let's get it on Bruins...I'm cheering for you for one more game. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  6. WOW! Knocking the Caps and Pens off with all their firepower is not something I ever would have imagined. I like Montreal's chances going forward. I agree about Kirk Muller. The Canadiens coaching staff has done a fabulous job and the players have bought in completely. Now they get to rest a bit. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  7. The Montreal coaching staff gets my vote for the best in the playoffs. They have everybody committed to the team and the strategies they have come up with against two offensive powerhouses have obviously been spot-on. A hot goaltender helps too.. ..They flashed a graphic last night that compared Halak's playoffs save percentage to some of the best all-time. He's going to have to keep it up tomorrow. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  8. Should be one helluva game! Go Habs Go!! I just noticed that PK Subban had more icetime than anybody on the ice. He was also out there at the faceoff with 35 seconds left. Talk about a call-up having an awesome series! I think he just played his way onto the Canadiens for next year. Jean Beliveau went in the dressing room before the third period....that's like getting a message from God! Well, I'm revved....Game 7 in the second round is about 9 or 10 games further than I thought they would go so this is very exciting! What's with the Bruins letting the Flyers back into the series? Put those guys down Bruins!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  9. Montreal up 3-2 after 2. Nearly made it 4-2 in the dying seconds. It was all Pens at the beginning of the second but Montreal was putting on incredible pressure as the period wore on. Go Habs! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  10. That was an excellent third period of hockey. For the first time ever, I thought Joe Thornton looked like a man ready to do whatever it takes to win a Cup. Sharks and likely Hawks should be an excellent Series. Montreal was close to winning that game against the Pens. Fleury really stole that one for the Pens. Habs outshot the Pens 33-25...quite a change from the 40 some shots Halak seemed to face every night against the Caps. But, if Hal Gill can't play...it don't look good for the Habs. I've been really impressed with PK Subban...called up from the AHL and he has been doing a great job for a young guy thrown into the thick of it. You know, Crosby should really drop the crybaby shit. I can't stand it when he's whining to the refs. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  11. Nope. Habs lost and the Sharks just started losing to the Wings early in the Second. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  12. Good grief, you do a few house things and the score goes from 2-2 to 6-3 for Chicago! Are the Hawks playing that well or is Luongo doing a Swiss cheese imitation? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  13. Did you ever have any doubts? Beaucoup mon ami, beaucoup!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  14. I hate runaway games for that reason. They get chippy and ugly and people get hurt. Game 5 won't be a continuation...the Sharks won't want to take penalties and go back to Detroit for Game 6. The Wings can't afford to get into penalty trouble. Soooooo, it should be a good hockey game. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  15. Yeah, the Sharks got an epic schooling tonight. On a good note though, this means I get to go to a playoff hockey game - we have tickets for game 5 on Saturday. If you run into my old grappling buddy Drew Remenda (Sharks colour commentator) please say hello from Murray! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  16. I only saw the last 7 minutes...what a finish! Looks like Fleury let in a bad one at the start that he'd like to have back. These Habs are for real! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  17. About the only thing I can hope for now is that Pronger has an earlier tee time than Zetterberg.
  18. And the Flyers lose again! Yee-HAAA!!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  19. What the F###! You just insulted the Candians. They have a baseball team or two, eh? Unfortunately, just one. RIP Montreal Expos. Canadians are cool, they make me chuckle on South Park.
  20. Tabernac! Habs lose 2-0 with the last being an empty netter. I just got home and didn't see any of the game. I see the shots were 24-18 for the Pens...a much closer ratio than I've come to expect in a Habs game. Was it a good game? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

  22. Beautiful! Flyers lose. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  23. Detroit is running out of lives. But they are not done yet. The Fat lady still does not know what city she needs to travel to. The Wings must win 4 of the next 5 games. But while Shark fans can be somewhat happy today, they need to be reminded that many teams have come back from 2-0 series deficits. Only 2 have come back from 3-0. If the Wings lose the next one they are nearly as good as done. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  24. I swore after the last World Cup I'd never watch again because of all the diving. I'll likely watch for a while but if the same crap is happening I'll find other things to do. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  25. They have to win Game 3. If they go down 3-0 they are as good as done. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
