    ------------------------------------------------------- As a TM/I, I always appreciated a tip....from a one time passenger that I knew was never gonna come back. You on the other hand are a student who has more than tipped enough. Save the tip money for your "firsts" beer. When I use a packer...if the packjobs are good.. I always tip. bozo Pain is fleeting.     --------------------------------------------------------- One more thing to consider, so the TM doesnt look like too big of a hardass. When a TM has a passenger hooked to the front of them they have a lot more responsibility than just saving their own life. They have the life of that passenger to protect also.     Let me chime in about the kind of person Jay is. After my accident in 96 I let my tandem rating expire. After recovering enough to begin skydiving again I began doing tandems also. RWS found out about me and asked me to get recertified. Jay was the TM/IE for my area....on his way home from a course in N Cal....he went out of his way....came to my home, chewed my ass out and helped me get legal again. He didnt have to do any of this....he did it because hes a good guy. Hes a hero in my book. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.

    As a TM/I I would look long and hard about a novice jumping with me and my passenger. If I knew them personally and had jumped with them.....maybe even had helped with their training would make the decision easier. Of course there are already rules in place to address this question. One other factor to consider. Is your friend buying video? The cameraflyer has as much say so as the TM in my opinion. If he/she isnt comfortable with you, that settles it. bozo Pain is fleeting.     pussy. You should know! I had to say no on a demo when the winds were just above the threshold. I could have done the jump and so could have two other jumpers on the load. But the flag jumper couldn't have cuz his canopy was too lightly loaded. But I wanted to follow the rules anyway... Im glad you caught the irony there Billy. :o) bozo Pain is fleeting.     Hey Pendragon.....I agree with Mike...and to offer a little evidence.....I usta know a guy who went in while wearing a bulky sweatshirt....same scenario, couldnt find a handle momentarily......pulled to low.     Mike Deluna....wow thats a name I havent heard in a while. I was in the same Boy Scout troop with Mike when we were kids. Also as a coincidence...while working at UNLV I usta have lunch with a really nice guy on occasion.....turns out thru conversation it was Mikes father. Small world. bozo Pain is fleeting.     That hardest thing to do on any demo is have the guts to say no.

    Keep this in mind.....if the asphalt is warm to hot you arent going to slide like on a loose dirt or gravel covered surface. Your shoes , if they have a soft cushiony botton, will grip and put you on your face. If a hi-po fast landing is what you expect from your canopy, be prepared to run it out or wear some shoes with a more firm sole. I didnt learn this from reading it in a book. I learned it on several hundred parking lot demos. The worst being in a slight drizzle in a highrise downtown area.     Same thing happened to a student at Skydive Las Vegas a few years ago.... the guy was just touching down at the drylake....dustdevil snatched him up and slammed him down. Killed him too. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.

    The first time I met Doug....he had this horribly broken leg. Rods and pins and shit sticking out of it. He introduced himself as Doug Iverdeath. The wind was blowing so hard we couldnt jump so he and a couple guys took us to the speed canals aka irrigation ditches. What fun....he rode these 30mph canals with that broken leg...on an innertube.     I was reading the "where are they now" stuff and got to thinking about some guys I usta know long ago in skydiving. Anybody remember Doug Iverson from Coolige.     Did I read that right? yeah.....you read it right. You shure did I was there when it had happened. I was working for Gravity Zone and it was our pilot they were made because we would get to the top before they would. There was a little more to it than that....words exchanged......fuck you this...fuck you that...and the pilot got whacked.
