[ The only part that is different is the participants. Most of my old friends are gone or still in the part of their life that sucks. This is another tough spot for me. Like a lot of the jumpers with a few decades behind them, I miss all my old buds that are gone, for whatever reason. I'll be ok. I was just feeling a little melancholy yesterday...thinking about the good old days and shit....when I should be out there contributing to making someone elses good old days great. Its Saturday afternoon....i'm sitting here. Why is that ? Damn...theres a boogie just up the road from me at Ogden...and i'm sitting here. Mesquite is open.....yup still sitting here. I had a bunch of family stuff to do this weekend so that put all jumping plans on hold. I can remember just a couple years ago...nothing kept me from the DZ....nothing. If there was a tandem rotation board....I was on it. If they needed a SL Jumpmaster....I was their guy. A demo you say? damnright...i'm on it. What happened? My kid grew up on the dropzone...so I guess I was a pretty good dad. My wife still sleeps with me and snuggles so I guess i'm ok there. Why am I not at the DZ? Where did that fire and passion go? Maybe one too many accidents and the associated surgeries. I do know this......I need that passion back. Skydiving is my life....the one that never got in the way. I was in a DC-3 at Freeport one year...cant remember what year...I was on an 8 way behind a wedding group. They did the vows....then jammed the door. The bride was in the middle of the group. A ten way . For some reason she stuck her head up just as she was going thru the round door top.....broke her neck. She spiraled into the corn...nothing out... and coincidently landed 50 yards behind my wife at our campsite. I went thru this a couple years ago, Katie, with my wifes mothers passing. Your dads wife broke a bunch of laws selling ANY of your dads stuff. What you need is a good Probate lawyer. I walked up behind Paul at the Nationals, in Sebastian, he was working for Packing Cathy....I loudly commented to Cathy.....I dont think this guy knows what the fuck hes doing.....damn was he mad until he found out who I was. He and I had been buds on the old rec.sky for quite some time but had never met in person. I got a huge hug.
