Do you remember in Afghanistan the snipers that set a record of about 2800 yards taking out a guy. 50 cal. That is real sniping. Get Stainless or Not... About to Order a New Wings...

Thanks for the answer. I am very surprised, but glad to hear that the price is not all profit by the rig mfg. Don't think for a minute that Stainless Steel can't corrode. It is termed corrosion resistant steel. I find it amazing that so many are willing to pay so much for it. I would like to hear from a mfg that is willing to defend the typical cost for the option. Seems like asking to be raped to me. Will we know who the POTUS is on Nov. 3?

sundevil777 replied to tunaplanet's topic in Speakers Corner
No, I just say that in recent elections the Dems are guilty of more voter fraud. But, I guess it is applicable to say the the Gore legal eforts in Florida are a bit of post voting voter fraud. The Bush legal efforts to combat Gore are totally different. I remember that the Florida Supreme Court was specifically asked to explain the rationale of their decision by the US Supeme Court, after slapping their ruling down. The Florida court never responded, did they? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. But I think it is an issue. Voter fraud is a favorite tactic of the Dems, why else would they fight efforts to reduce fraud by requiring ID when registering and voting? I think there will be much moe fraud this time, with Dems guilty of most of it. Heard of the counties that have more registered voters than is possible? I agree that terrorism should be defined as the deliberate targeting of civilians in pursuit of a political goal. Or just get somebody with Dan Poynter's manual to look it up. It does at least have some data points as a starter for the curious. Of course we have been arguing over jumpers with the same fallrate. So you acknowledge that the opening point is the same, and we have to rely on the drift due to wind after opening. In my opinion and experience, it is very hard to get jumpers to adequately adjust their time between groups when the winds are really high. And then you have people tracking away up and down jump run and flying up and down jump run after opening. 10 seconds of drift from opening altitude winds doesn't give me much confidence unless the winds are comparable to the speed of the aircraft. I don't like jumping when the winds at 3K are 90kts. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Thanks Kid 35 for the link to the free Powerpoint viewer. I can't understand why the simulation shows the plane going forward when the airspeed and winds aloft are equal. Yes, I passed. I'm an engineer also. I can discuss this issue and refrain from questioning your intelligence, however. If you jump from a stationary platform up in the sky, you will end up at the same place as the person before you, given the same set of wind conditions and same fall rate. I think you agreed on this point. It is the only thing that matters on this particular part of the scenario we are discussing, I believe. 1000 feet from what? The only separation you would have is the time between groups times the velocity of the winds at opening altitude. Mighty strong winds, or mighty long separation between groups to get to 1000 feet. Then of course someone will track into the jumprun and continue to fly that way and then there is trouble. You already acknowledge that everyone would open at the same point, everyone is affected by the winds during frefall the same. Escalator analogy is not useful, or needed, in my opinion. I took a lot of physics too. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. If there is 0 groundspeed on jumprun (unrealistic of course, but this limit condition proves a point), then everyone with similar fallrate will open at exactly the same place. I hardly see how this can be argued. This is why I consider a crosswind jumprun to be safer for high upper wind days. In my opinion wind induced drift due to the time between groups leaving is not sufficient, and many don't leave enough extra time between groups for high upper wind days. I have read a few complaints in other threads about the cut-in being uncomfortable, some only noticed when under canopy. DNC memo urges activists to make thing up
sundevil777 replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
Not much comment from Kerry supporters about the DNC campaign manual (approved by the Kerry campaign also). I heard a DNC spokesman this morning addressing it, doing a terrible job of trying to defend it, so they are not denying the validity of the document. Anyone else willing to defend the strategy, official from the top leadership, of make it up before it happens? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am -
I don't have powerpoint, so can't check out Kellend's simulator. As jumprun groundspeed approaches 0 (really high winds), the opening point for jumpers with the same fall rate becomes the same, correct? I don't want the small bit of drift you get by winds at opening to be what provides separation. Groundspeed of 0 is of course extreme, but I think it proves the point. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but isn't this why in general we increase the time separation if a jumprun is flying into high upper winds? Isn't this an argument for crosswind jumpruns, so that we don't have to remember to increase the time between groups? Let's not forget about Carter going - on his own - to N. Korea to negotiate. Clinton was rightly furious, but was unwilling to slap him down as an ex-pres of his own party. Carter should have been prosecuted for that. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Bush should taunt him. Basically claim that indications that he must be dead are mounting. Dare him to prove he is alive. Some say that he has been spotted in Iran.
