What makes someone pick the place to make thier first jump?
hookitt replied to Fast's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
After jumping with Bungee Adventures, they set up a table so you could buy the video of you wanted and also laid out pamphlets for a skydiving center. One of the pictures was of an AFF Level 1. Right then and there I was certain that's what was next. Weeks later I opened the phone book and looked up parachute. Found a listing to the closest dropzone and called them. Little did I know that call would screw me up forever. My first jump was 3 days later. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto -

Going BACK to a legstrap deployment p. c. pouch
hookitt replied to jimmytavino's topic in Gear and Rigging
Clay in Byron has a pull-out that can be mounted on either side. He uses either one without issue but I'm sure it happens. If you're in a position that a handle location is required, then change it and use it. The usual location would be for loaning out the rig. Do handle touches often, especially just before climbout. Going BACK to a legstrap deployment p. c. pouch
hookitt replied to jimmytavino's topic in Gear and Rigging
It would be as possible as a normal single pouch. Use one piece of spandex and 2 elastics. Check out the incredible artistry captured all to see in the Awesome Double-Side-BOC Diagram.JPG My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto -
If you're still following this thread and want to jump again sometime, go talk to Ed (bodypilot1about some one on one AFF training. He is a private instructor that jumps primarily in Lodi. Every one there knows him and he's very good. I know nothing of your situation but training with Ed will far surpass any training you can get via static line. Goot luck! 13 is a good number :) My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

Interesting question. I've heard of it too but I'm not sure I believe it but it's certainly possible. It was not long after the Sabre was introduced to the market. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

At least one person will ask you to put a Not Safe for... label on that. I am not one of those people. My work computer is SO much faster than mine.

We could take a wild guess or look up 3 to beezyshaw's post. Which do you suggest? My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

I bet he's bidding on it himself since all the bids are from private listings. This item will probably go back for sale since the bidding has now ended. I flagged it anyway. private listing - bidders' identities protected US $2,176.00 Apr-08-07 16:27:32 PDT private listing - bidders' identities protected US $2,151.00 Apr-08-07 16:26:28 PDT private listing - bidders' identities protected US $2,101.00 Apr-08-07 16:24:27 PDT And more..... Don't be fooled to believe the Velcro on a racer the size of the one in the original post, will stay shut when freeflying or doing freestyle, even if it's new. When the entire side comes open, the entire riser comes out. The excess lines in the main container get pulled out as well. When the toggle comes off the riser, the result is not good. I've watched this happened far too many times. I've seen crazy malfunctions from this very scenario. That vector of yours isn't safe to freefly in either by the way. Personal opinion. The rig in the original post is probably ok. However, the following opinion is hard to debate. It is not suitable for anything but belly to earth flying. If the person purchasing it will actually fly belly to earth and not delve into freeflying or freestyle right away, it's fine. Falcons are good canopies. Note, if it has a cross connected RSL, modify it to a single or just take it off. No matter how much literature you read on the subject, they are not safe. It he risers are type 17, be sure they are reinforced. If they are not then they are not suitable for use. Good luck! My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

***6:07 p.m.: A man told a family member that he was on his way to Lodi to commit suicide while skydiving. Lodi Airport employees and Sheriff's deputies were notified. Quote Hot diggity... I missed that one. Interesting find ... (in an odd sort of way). Back to moving junk out of my truck My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

Hahaha.. why are you picking on Lodi? It's much like Ft Worth without the tall buildings. Isn't most of Cops filmed in Ft Worth? My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

This thread is sissy as well. 1) Used the word sissy. 2) Described an Indian Motorcycle as lovely. The motorcycle is cool and all but lovely, sissy, cute, adorable ... etc... are not meant for public usage when describing such vehicles. Good luck with the bike JP ... it's very pretty. Oh so pretty. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

I wrote the following before reading this reply. It still applies though so here it is. Good luck. -- The hands trick mentioned by tdog is always a clue. If you let them clench, you will clench your shoulders and your breathing will be shallow. You can calm all that. Open your hands as wide as you can then let them relax and place them on your thighs. Relax your shoulders and let them hang. Consciously breathe in deeply and slowly through the nose then exhale slowly and fully through the mouth. Relax the stomach muscles as well. (Side note… if someone farts, just close your nose and ignore it) When I'm working with students, It doesn't matter who the student is. Almost all students go through that ritual before we go. More: Visualize tracking off after a great skydive. Smile on your face thinking how fun that was. Then while still breathing and relaxing the shoulders Think about the dive flow and the perfect dive that led up to tracking away. JohnMitchell states what I'm talking about. Put your helmet and goggles on early and sit still. It’s quieter and you won’t have to rush. Touch your handles in order. (I still do this and so should you) When people start shuffling around and doing ritual handshakes and such, stay quiet. When it's your turn to go, start your way to the door and touch the main handle so you know it's there before stepping outside. You know what you're doing, and you're ready to do it... Bring it on. Recap: It's perfectly fine to be nervous but leave the aircraft after calming yourself and touching your handles.... then touching the main again after you move towards the door. Remember to put your helmet and goggles on early so you are not in a rush. Hope that helps. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

I was just kidding, I work in the support proffesion as well. Used to work with engineers. Doing what I'm doing now, I often get to instruct that rebooting a computer begins with ... If you are set on the skyhook, my opinion would be get the Vector. The javelin has not impressed me in regards to main/reserve container sizing,(mismatched to the canopies selected even though it was noted on the order form) riser and pin protection and bulkiness.they're ok, but i believe they are not the best regardless of popularity. While I prefer a different brand of rig, the vector is quite nice.No complaints worth mentioning. You will like the new reserve ripcord too. Good luck My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
