  1. Are you nearly getting clotheslined by the chest strap in that photo? My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  2. I was up at the Bridge this past weekend and walked out from the bottom by myself several times. I thought about Shannon quite a bit. I picked up a flower and walked to the rivers edge for a few quiet moments to shed a tear and a smile. Just after midnight, the beginning of this memorial day, I made a night jump from the bridge with some new friends. She'd have loved it. Life continues, memories continue. I lucked out and saw her before she died. It was only a ride to drop her back to her hotel but it was indeed a funny ride and little did I know, it was about to become much needed closure. GFD ... you're always remembered. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

  4. I know who sangi is. He's real but he trolls for fun. Sometimes it's even funny. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  5. Really I just stopped reading and had to post immediately. I'm guessing there are several others quoting you before I did. I post worthless crap all the time and made 6 jumps yesterday. The video is on facebook so it must have happened. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  6. There. That seems more appropriate. [LOL Smiley Face] My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  7. Unless he's being a tool and being an obvious danger to himself and others, you've got nothing to do about it. You can ask the people who jump with him but honestly someone appearing to have a cavalier attitude may very well be a conscientious person. Many new jumpers are full of themselves. Skydiving is simple. Becoming highly skilled at it takes time and training. Don't sweat it to hard. As long as he's not acting like an idiot, it's ok to sound like one. 8. I like your sign very much. We have a sign like the one mentioned earlier, but I don't like the way it sounds. Your sign is far superior. I'm going to suggest that our current sign be replaced with yours. Thanks! Just make a new one and change it. The new management will not mind a bit. I'm merely an AFF instructor that does not know how to throw a drogue so I seldom get tips ... but I still think the current sign is annoying. 9. That's why he put quotation marks around the word rigger. I agree with you about the post. It was in bad form. Mark, suggesting a "rigger" did something wrong especially when they did not, is not cool. If there really was a minor problem, I would expect you to contact the rigger long before putting it up here on the internet. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... 10. Found snagged on a main canopy shipped from Hollister for inspection. Mark So there was no harm done. Thanks My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  11. That was pretty good my friend My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  12. Thanks. I'll try your way next time just to do it. I do have a bootable USB already set up. I just happen to have 2 drive bays a bunch of laptops and desktops here so It's quick for me. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  13. This is much easier. If the drive is still good pull it out of the computer. Either slave it as a second drive on another computer or put it in a USB dive bay and plug it into the USB port of another computer. Poof, there's all your data. You can pick up the drive bay at Fry's or Best Buy or an equivalent store. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  14. I finally saw this bag in person. It's really nice. The dimensions fit the container perfectly. I don't know if the magnets are necessary or not but the pouch is designed well. The lines are are easy to stow and sit in the pouch very secure. FYI. Staged openings are important. Taking the canopy to line stretch before the bag comes off is what's required. Locking stows are needed but the rest of the stows are only there to keep the lines organized and carry the lines away from the jumper during deployment. This bag contains the lines rather well and the lines appear to pay out very clean. I neglected to take a deployment shot but we were doing multiway freefly jumps so it was not an option. 15. 4 months is nothing. You're grieving and want to change what you can not change. Stop advertising your sorrow. Be ok with being sad, know it's temporary even though it seems like it will never change. Don't look back. The happiness will fall back into place when you choose to let go. Depression sucks and will change only if you stop doing what depresses you. Be nice. Don't do mean things and pay attention to who you're sitting next to. If you like shiny things, make that added effort to pay attention. Be open. That person might just be just right. No one is like the person you were with before.
  16. Thanks Zac. Looks like the PPGA or PPHA classes are in order. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  17. Yeah I did mean deployed not flying but I do think you're pretty close. It was definitely sub 1000 and looked 700 ish when he threw out. The video guy had about 25 seconds of canopy time so that puts him flying around 275 feet if you assume 11 fps descent rate in full flight. I've deployed a skydiving rig under a grand before. For most people this has happened to, they've already fixed the problem before the canopy finishes opening. All they really want to do is not smash into the ground. If they succeed in not smashing into the earth, then the act of going that low again is seldom repeated. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  18. That was really hard to read. --- To answer your question: Yes, people do dangerous things all the time without trying to find out what the dangers are. People do multi way *freefly* jumps and are nowhere's near each other or zoom by each other or simply flatten out and track...etc. Many (MANY) skydivers don't have a clue how solid their gear is for freeflying. If you and I did a 2 way *freefly* jump with you attempting to fly head down, we'd be fine. You won't hit me no matter how hard you try. The video would be good. I will make sure your gear is suitable as well. Now go jump with someone that can't match all the movements you do and see what happens. Chances are it's not just the video that would suck. The sudden fall rate and direction changes will cause high seperation and high closing speeds. I personally would have no issues flying with you but it would not be on a multi way. 19. I know one of the jumpers (maybe both but I don't remember who the second jumper was. It was in the 90's ). He wore his cutter around his neck and shared his experience with many many people in hopes it would not happen to them. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  20. I forget you are too. Yep. It was a state school. The English program was actually quite good but I do not believe proper English was forced in all classes. So much for thread drift. :) Carry on. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  21. Wait till you accidently pull really low by accident. Personally I would not have landed there either, but, take a gander at the exceptional freefly talent exhibited. My guess is they had relatively low jump numbers My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  22. I doubt it. My guess is glory. I would like another Xaos 27 though and my packing demonstrations are exceptional so I will win if there is a prize. Sorry guys. That's just the way it is My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  23. I keep forgetting you're deaf because you have an amazing grasp of written English. It's much better than mine, that's for sure. My younger brother, who was also born deaf, has terrible written English. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
  24. 2000 feet give or take. First 1000 takes around 10 seconds, the next thousand is around 5 to 6 seconds. The body position makes a difference especially on the next thousand feet. The flail position was definitely faster than belly flying. My guess the last person pulled at or just under 1000. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
