I'm tellin ya... you should add an emoticon. Perhaps quote something using the or the buttons. Be choosy though. Be sure to take it just a tiny bit out of context. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

Exit order strategies...
hookitt replied to skydivenagasaki's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Brett, there's no doubt your posts are entertaining. 15 years and about 5000 jumps, I consider myself an old dog... however, some old dogs learn new tricks, often reluctantly. We (the team I flew with and other freefliers) tried so hard to keep the freefliers out first. After a couple seasons of near misses... unbelievably_close ...near misses, we adopted Skydive Arizona's theory and the amount of near misses declined. Freefliers dive into the relative wind which shortens the hill and places the jumpers closer to the next exiting group. If the next group is a belly RW load, it will ride the relative wind increasing the hill in comparison. That alone places the groups extremely close. Now add the fact that the first group is likely to fly directly into the line of flight during the approach to the landing zone. The seperation decreases even more. If the exit order between those 2 groups is switched, the horizontal seperation at opening altitude is increased. Hope that makes sense. trying to buy a shoulder brace for jumping
hookitt replied to calledisrael's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm not going to visit you in Atlanta. Describe it if you will. Mine's been duplicated by several so it's it wouldn't be surprising if it's been seen in atlanta. Mine is basically a strap around the chest and one around the arm with a peice of webbing between the 2. An over the shoulder strap can be added if needed to help keep the chest strap in place. It pulls the arm into the socket as the arm is raised over head. . My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto -

Don't waste your time with any of these Bauerfeind OmoTrain Shoulder Support The Sully Shoulder Stabilizer Otto Bock Shoulder Support They are worthless. The Chuting brace may be a modification of mine. I've shown the design to quite a few people so there's quite a few of them in use. I'll send some info your way when I get back on my own computer. hehe... I didn't say he uses the correct words all the time ... I don't either for that matter. Since I'm one of the American's that doesn't speak english, it's quite possibly the code breaker. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

Nope, it's a day of rest for them, and a day of work for me so my part of the venture has most likely come to an end. Yesterday we did something really silly. Sorry for the sight naming but in this case I believe it's ok. We trekked over to Six Flags Marine World. Peter and Faber have never ridden good roller coasters before so we spent the day riding roller coasters and watching dolphin and killer whale shows. The night before, we hucked a 360 foot power tower under a beautiful moonlit sky. After that we were on our way to climb a very tall antenna. The wind was not going the usual direction which left a large field of corn to land in. Ever land in corn? I don't recommend it. The field was being irrigated as well so the mud content was very high so we bailed on that idea. The replacement jump, which was mighty nice to watch, was a flick from a famous local S. The jump we made a few days ago was from another S with quite a spectacular view. From there we drove to yet another location... a couple hours drive away. Chad, Peter and Faber made their first and second ground launches. I don't like to ruin Fabers rep but he's quite articulate and not so lazy as he'd like you to believe. Peter and Faber, it's been a pleasure meeting you and taking you to a couple of the local objects. Untill we meet again... stay safe. Chad, you stay safe as well, it's been a blast. Getting into higher performance landings....
hookitt replied to ManFallDown's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Relax my friend Swooping at that wingloading is not what's dangerous. Going big when the skills haven't been established is. That's all. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto -

If you really want to know how to make it easier, think about the rigging aspect. Probably the most overlooked part of learning to BASE is rigging skills. If you learn how to assemble complete rigs and pack reserves ... neatly... parachutes begin to make more sense. Another cool thing about it is when you put holes in your canopy you can patch them yourself. If you put your canopy over a light pole and use your hook knife to cut the lines so you can get away, you can fix it yourself. I can't say enough about learning how to rig. You don't have to become a rigger, but get the knowledge. Buy a decent sewing machine and make stuff. It comes in handy. Don't tell your friends though because they'll want you to fix their jumpsuits. Get a large 7 cell canopy and learn to fly the canopy backwards, do back spins. Swoop it, land around corners. Just wring the heck out of it. Do CRW, Accuracy, and as many skydives as you can afford. They help more than you know. During skydives, learn how to be relaxed and symmetrical during deployment. Learn to track. Race your friends on tracking dives so you can track really fast. And simply … don't be in a hurry. Good luck My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry...
