The piss-poor planning started with a previous administration.. That administration gutted the military. This is the reason we are in the fix we are now. This is an A-political post. I was called-up once by that president. A major shift in mission (from the active-duty to the Guard and Reserve) was supposed to be a huge "peace dividend" from the Cold War. We are now paying the price for that policy. I've been accused here before of being uneducated and ill-informed about some issues. On these issues I'm well too informed. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I have'nt read this whole thread but, people who enlist sign a contract. If they get called up, tough shit!! I've been called up three times since 1999. One time under Clinton (Operation Allied Force), twice under Bush. I was making up reserve days that I was behind on Sept. 11, 2001. This led to me being gone from home for 14 months. Bitching is good, GI's are very good at it! I'm getting ready to go back for the 2nd time in two years. It's fine with me (not my family though). I signed on the dotted line 22yrs ago, I understood then and understand now. For those who run or refuse, FUCK EM' they are nothing but cowards, I'm a professional with a career but, I'll put my life on hold to do what needs to be done. Even if I don't agree (which I do by the way), I still am obligated. Some folks don't understand obligation. That is HONOR, many people don't understand the concept. You saw the movie twice and this is what you have to say? Maybe you should stick to traffic......You seemed to have missed a lot of information. And too, try to read a few very good books that have been published in the last six months on these topics-Moores facts add up. Quote I'll give you one fact that one was absolutely wrong. At the end of the movie Mr. Moore stated "Pres. tried to cut military pay by 33%." That is absolutely incorrect. I've done my homework, like I said before, people are going to see what they want to see. The one thing Mr. Moore did well in the film was put a personal face on war. That's a good thing, we all need to be reminded of that once in a while. I take Mr. Moore for what he is, his film was anything but objective. He berates news organizations in the film for doing just that. If anything this serves to embolden our enemies. Our enemies take healthy debate as weakness. Mr. Moores film was hardly healthy debate. We understand the usefulness of it, they don't. The people who want to destroy us are nothing more than fascists cloaked in Islam. To me that is the bottom line. It's funny, Of the two people who disagree with me, one tells me to go do traffic, the other implies a lack of brain matter and tells me to read a book...........Hmmmm.........those are well thought out points. Thanks!!!!! I even gave Mr. Moore credit for being clever. I laughed out loud several times during the movie. Some parts were funny, both the way it was presented and in content. But I guess I'm too under educated to understand. It could show a lack of flexibility and lack of research if one was to vote a straight ticket. I very seldom EVER vote a straight ticket. I look at issues, that determines my vote, not party affiliation. Hmmmmm.....not bad for un unread, uninformed slob huh? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I saw the movie while working a detail inside the theater. People are going to see what they want to see. Mr. Moore asked alot of questions and implied many things, but provided few hard facts. This was in no way a documentary, it was one sided political commentary. It was funny in some spots, like the infiltration of the peace group in Fresno, that part was cleverly done. One person came up to me and said, "what are you here for, to intimidate us liberals"? I wasn't going anywhere near that comment while working. I just laughed and told him due to the emotionally charged nature of the film the theatre hired us to prevent any problems. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

It's funny, I hear alot of "I met or I know someone" from CCW folks. So taking a page from that argument, I know several CCW holders who are wanna-be, soldier of fortune, gun nuts who could never pass a full LE background INVESTIGATION not check. These folks are so paraniod they think carrying a weapon will solve all their ills. These people are always looking over their shoulders. On the other hand I know several CCW holders who are professional squared away people, they carry with common sense for good reasons. A some of examples of CCW holders/types since the Diallo shooting was referenced here by jeffery. These occured in area where I live/work. -Man sees old man walking, man trys to rob old man. Old man is CCW holder, old man kills bad guy during robbery attempt. Justice Served-GOOD -Woman accuses man of molesting her son. Allegation can't be proved to legal standards. Woman lures man into store, woman is CCW holder. Woman shoots man in the balls. Now personally I don't have a problem with that. But the legal types do.-BAD -(mostly white)CCW backers walk around crime ridden nieghborhood (mostly black) with open sidearms. This is supposed to show how great CCW is? The press has a field day with them and portrays them pretty much as a bunch of gun toting rednecks and gun-nuts. I understand what they where trying to do but to the average joe it looked REAL bad.-BAD Why should I as a LE have certain rights over the average joe? Because I've EARNED it. With proper training and experience, when dealing with stressful situations involving firearms. If CCW holders want 50 state rights which took LEO's many years to get. Then they need to be held to the same training standards. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Due the hot button political nature of this film, I get to work an off-duty detail tonight standing IN the theater. I get to sit (stand) through two wonderful screenings of this film. I guess I'll give my two cents after I see it. I'm sure someone (from the left, most likely) will have a smart ass comment on me being there. Due to the A-politcal nature of my job while working, I guess I'll just let my face get red while watching Mr. Moore spout and whine. Just like when I work protests, I'll keep saying to myself "go to your happy place, go to your happy place"....................... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

The political arms of LE, such as the FOP or IACP may not back concealed carry but, the rank and file do overwhelmingly. However the training standards in the states I am familiar with SUCK!!! The main fear of CCW is LE (as always) getting stuck in the middle of a CCW holder doing something stupid because of the low training standards. The bottom line is CCW holders are not trained anywhere near the standards of LE. Experience is another factor. Even a rookie cop has been tested in several high stress situations, CCW holders may never be tested in this way. And if they are, they have very minimal training to rely on. That my friend is the main reason. I know several really squared away CCW holders, I know some real dipshit cops, and vice versa. However the overall training nod goes to LE for the best result. There are exceptions but I wouldn't feel comfortable with a 50 state carry for CCW holders at this time. And yes it does sound like whining, sort of like the PC crowd stomping their feet, crying and screaming "it's not fair"!!!!!!. If you want to carry in all 50 states, put on the funny blue polyester suit and badge. Any by the way, why does a guy with the prefix of "peaceful" like guns so much..............? Jeffery, This new bill is long overdue. One could argue about concealed carry holder vs. cops across state lines all day. I'm sure some cop somewhere will do something stupid in another state and there wil be a bunch of "I told you so's" from the left. Just like when concealed carry peeps fuck up. However, there is no comparison between concealed carry holders (which I back fully) and full time law enforcement officers. LEO's live this stuff every day 24-7, it is a safety issue involving trained people vs. people with essentially an orientation. Kentucky's concealed carry training standards are minimal at best. I have, over my years in LE, received hundreds of hours of firearms instruction. I also have 17 yrs street experience. That is the difference. If it works out it may open the door for concealed carry holders. I live on a state line, and often bump into offenders while in another state, it is a pain in the ass and illegal for me to carry in that state. To be honest your agruments sound like whining, chill out, be patient, and it should all work-out. The funny thing is I very seldom carry off duty, mainly only when I travel by vehicle, (which I do frequently). So for me this works out great. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Where are all of our peace-loving friends on here now? This makes me sick!! If people don't believe we are at war for our survival, I don't know how else to explain it to them. They ( muslim extremists) would like to see all of us westerners end up like Mr. Johnson. That's the bottom line!!! The best defense is a good offense!!! Whew!!!! In light of recent events, I've just completed an intensive gorilla sensitivity training course. Some of the blocks included: Grooming your friends- It's not just for gorillas anymone. Feces throwing- The rational, high and low points. Escape from custody- If you were a gorilla what you do? Gorilla "I" messages- Resolve the confrontation peacefully. Suggested dialogue- "Get that kid out of your mouth or I'll shoot, Mr. Gorilla." WRONG "Mr. Gorilla, I don't feel comfortable with you having that kid in your mouth, PLEASE put him down and come here and give me a hug". Kai, i just took my cypres to SSK for it's 4 yr check, just out of curiosity what does the 4 year check entail. SSK is local for me so I just dropped it off. Do they send it back to Germany or do it at their facility? The turn around time is two weeks. Again, just curious. P.S.
