But the 24 hour news cycle is our friend, they would NEVER have an agenda, or attempt to sway public opinion. Even if swaying means lying, I mean Robert Redford says it didn't happen that way....... The guy is a brain surgeon, the left is terrified of him and what he stands for. CNN and the ilk will do anything to discredit him, in contrast to how they didn't vet the current POTUS. Unfortunately, that's how the game is played in the media/internet age............... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Don't think anyone saw this coming. Good people do bad things, bad people do bad things, only one person (maybe two depending on your religious beliefs) know what the deal was with this guy. Some things just make you shake your head................... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

It's hard to take anyone who uses the term "butthurt" serious, but then again, this is the internet. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Very safe, Because policing is so safe, people are flocking to it for the safety and security http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/Shooting-San-Diego-Laurel-Gunshots-340219382.html http://www.wkyt.com/home/headlines/Richmond-officer-rushed-to-UK-Hospital-after-being-shot-340139972.html "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I agree, Most agencies should decal this; "THIS ARMORED VEHICLE IS BEING USED FOR RESCUE. WE KNOW IT IS BIG AND SCARY AND WE KNOW THAT IT BEING ARMORED FREAKS SOME PEOPLE OUT. BUT SOMETIMES WE NEED TO USE IT FOR WHEN PEOPLE ARE SHOOTING AT US, SO WE CAN RESCUE YOU OR USE IT TO PROTECT OURSELVES" It's definitely big enough to fit that on the side. It would cost more to letter it, than it did to acquire it. But we want to make sure we don't offend anyone. Or, as some agencies do, put "Tactical Rescue" or simply "RESCUE" on the side. Even that doesn't placate the detractor crowd..................... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -
The easiest way to get out of jury duty, just say "I think the police never arrest someone who isn't guilty" or the transverse "the cops are always messing with people and charge people for no reason" Either way your excused.... One of my old crusty supervisors used to wear his uniform to report for jury duty, he'd just throw his hands up at the judge and say "what?". He was funny as hell anyway, the judge would just shake his head and excuse him. In the case of my wife, she really did want to serve. Now she knows she'll never have the chance. Uhhh............yea But here is some help for you. She had no incompatible interest with either party, nor did she know them. She is college educated and is capable of making informed decisions based on the presented information. I said by definition, I also said it was understandable. That is the difference between you and I, I try to see both sides of the issue. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

No, They asked if anyone is related to an LEO, she raised her hand and stated the relationship. She was immediately struck from the jury by the defense. It's understandable, but it is by definition discrimination. The cases cited were back in the '80's, in our area the jury pool has expanded dramatically. They went from registered voters only, to drivers license applicants, this was probably about 15 years ago. I've had people I've arrested sitting on a Grand Jury when I go to testify. The system is far from perfect I agree, but those who think everything is stacked against the defendant are simply incorrect. Dealing with anything in the criminal justice system is like trying to hit a moving target, albeit a slow moving target. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Voir Dire is a lot like using a Ouija board, It pretty comical sometimes, my wife was chosen for a jury, then the defense struck her out, that's discrimination! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

If the DoD were giving those away, you'd see PD's getting them. And sometimes they do come up on the site, if I'd see one, I'd snag it. You don't, and that is where the "opened mindedness" isn't very open. The vehicle has been adapted for use for which it was never really designed, but is very useful for. In your circles that would be "thinking outside the box", by first obtaining a useful vehicle for pennies on the dollar. Then using that vehicle in a manner which benefits the community they serve. Look at the video the kids posted, it's more than a couple dozen. It's in a link earlier in the thread. Good kids are sick of this type of behavior in the link below, school administration is now powerless to stop it. Now SRO's are hamstrung as well. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=581_1446436696 "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

http://www.callthecops.net/police-to-get-a-10s-as-part-of-surplus-program-program/ We already went down that road, some here even bought it...........;) http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4712393;#4712393 "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

Because it works, and works well. Don't you teach physics? The vehicle is much heavier than a normal 5 ton truck, has equal (in some cases more) ground clearance, a capsule that can seat up to 12, and a waterproofed engine/drivetrain. I remember one Sheriff in a western state saying he could see his MRAP being used more in floods more than anything else. It's perfectly suited for shallow swift water evacs/rescues during flash floods. https://www.facebook.com/smcpa/posts/377555185785325 It would be nice if the detractors would just say "hmm, that's pretty resourceful" and give credit where credit is due. But it won't happen if it doesn't fit your narrative. And others are the closed minded ones? Or a Humvee, you know those big scary unarmored ones........ http://www.pnj.com/story/news/2014/08/07/gulf-breeze-humvee/13747557/ "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -
Yes because the students who actually go there were upset and showed support for their SRO. Meanwhile, you pound platitudes on your keyboard. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Actually look at the video posted by the kids themselves, notice anything? But then again, you didn't look far past the news source. The vast majority of the 24 news cycle didn't cover this at all, what a surprise.......... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Need I say more................(rolls eyes) This is EXACTLY why I posted this. Please, if you are going to respond, at least try to be truthful, or at least factual. If it makes you feel better, I agree using the term "butthurt" really brings nothing to the conversation. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

Bearcats aren't LESO 1033 items, mainly Caiman and MaxxPro MRAPS. There is still the occasional Peacekeeper and other types of armored cars. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

http://www.wmbfnews.com/story/30264283/armored-vehicles-credited-to-saving-flood-victims The same situations occurred in Texas this Spring, as well as other areas of he country when needed. The national media is surprisingly absent in running these stories of the ACTUAL use of this equipment. It doesn't fit their narrative. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -
Great post all around, couldn't agree more. That's why I said "can" be effective, no school is effective without the points you made or if there are ulterior motives by the faculty. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

We are discussing an SRO and a use of force, the arguments you use are specious, regurgitated media talking points and far off topic. But I digress............ Here is another........... http://www.click2houston.com/news/student-knocks-nimitz-high-teacher-to-floor-police-investigation-underway/26019818 "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/426185/police-public-schools-family-breakdown All these points are true, I've seen and experienced them first hand. This is why Charter Schools can be so effective, even in low performing districts. It comes down to parental involvement. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
