The cause of the incident is unknown had is being investigated but it is believed to be a medically related incident. On June 24th a skydiver was to do a demo (show) jump and land on the property of MSM where the prom of the cadets of 07/2005 h

There are a lot of people replying with "I don't go for the vendors I go for the skydiving". That's cool. You guys should absolutely go and have a great time. Other people do invest a lot of money to get there for their only "big break" in the year and expect to see the stuff that was advertised. We all have different reasons for going. One is not better than the other, they're just different. It's good that there are jumpers who are still happy to go to the WFFC as it is. The concern for the WFFC management should be the fact that almost all the vendors in the industry, a rapidly growing number of jumpers, and a bunch of jump-ship providers are not happy to go anymore, and it's showing. Like Ron said: there's a place and for the WFFC, but what you are doing is not working. PS - Beth, Michael, I know it's hard work to put together an event like this, but that's not what we're debating. There's the old story about a guy who was climbing a ladder to get to the top. Long ladder. Steep climb. Hard work. No doubt. When he gets to the top he realizes that the ladder has been standing against the wrong wall. We're merely saying that in the middle of all this hard work, someone needs to make sure the ladder is standing against the right wall. Safe swoops Sangiro

Now just to be fair: SkymonkeyOne is an ex Green Beret who trains some nasty people in his spare time. Loudiamond is an active GB who commutes between somewhere and his job in Afghanistan. Slotperfect was a Golden Knight. Tonto lives in Jo'burg and likes to shoot at stuff. I've spent my fair share of time fighting senseless African wars and Remi is a Canadian.... While I have no doubt that there are meaner folks than us out there, I can almost guarantee you that your general strategy for getting to know us is flawed. Safe swoops Sangiro

Hey, Some of you may have seen me ask for the WFFC Vendors list a few time in this thread and this one. The reason why I wanted to know who's going is because I make my living in the skydiving industry. This used to be one of those few opportunities where you could go to a single venue and catch up with a lot of players and manufacturers. The PIA Symposium is another. On Friday the WFFC published a list of confirmed vendors: With all due respect to the vendors who are going, there are club level boogies that attract more vendors than this! What's going on? Where's PD, SunPath, Relative Workshop, Icarus, Precision, Mirage, Aerodyne, Jump Shack, Bird-man, Alti-2, HiPerUSA ? All these companies used to be fixtures at the convention. Maybe some of them will still go but it's pretty late in the game. There's less than 30 days left before the convention starts and the official vendors application form required proof of payment by May 1st... I can ask the same question about the jump fleet. I look at the ad in Parachutist, and I compare it to this list. There are a lot helicoptors and stuff that needs to be confirmed to deliver on the promises in the ads. If representatives from these companies read this I'd love to hear why you decided not to go. It looks like quite the exodus from this event. A lot of people (including myself) would like to see the WFFC succeed and continue to grow and deliver a fun time. It's pretty obvious that something is broken though. It may be time for an open an honest discussion. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Safe swoops Sangiro

Jump normal until about 300 m (1200 feet). At this height, over the peas, the jumper threw her helmet down and apparently without reason cut away a good main canopy. Jumper went into a track position and hit the ground without any apparent attempt to depl

Michael, Can you publish a list of vendors who've confirmed that they're going to be there please? Safe swoops Sangiro

After normal freefall and deployment, the jumper probably had a stroke under canopy. Without steering, the jumper flew towards town, hit the wall of a house, and fell to the pavement with heavy internal injuries and a broken neck. He died in the hospita

That's fair. But I doubt whether manufacturers will change their designs when he complains about the fact most modern gear is largely incompatible with his old container or canopy. Again, I'm in no haste to add new technology and will always try to do so in a way that degenerates elegantly on older browsers. I will however not primarily design for the exceptions on the left of the bell-curve. Safe swoops Sangiro

Assuming you have JS enabled in your browser... can you tell me which browsers it doesn't work in? I'd love to test them. No need to use it for that. I'm never in a haste to add technologies. Safe swoops Sangiro
